I have an issue my timing tensioner failed wrecked my valve head and two pistons. I took the engine apart replaced the failed pistons rebuild it back up torqued to spect every bolt. Purchased a new eBay used low miles valve head. Here is where my problem is the seller removed all the shims before shipping it to me everything else is there but the shims. I can’t find the shims from my old head as it was all over the place as I was going to throw it away I feel k could have reused my old shims since my engine only had 5k miles also 08 but now my question is can I buy new Honda shims they’re as per parts catalog the same size can I just buy all 16 shims and put them on all the same size and not have to worry about anything or would I have to buy them all then check them with the filler gauge to see what if they’re within spec?

You need to buy a kit that has numerous sizes in a tackle box style. Although each valve will probably be close in shim size, they will NOT be the same.

I'm guessing camshafts & rocker reinstall is much harder

Nah, the actual removal and install is the easy part. Measuring and making sure you put the correct shims in is that hard part haha.
