I went to this show in 2013. It was my last visit to NY. Ten years ago. It changed my life. I couldn't believe I was actually in the presence of these paintings I had only seen on the pages of a book. I cannot explain it. I cried, and I felt so rich.

Thanks James. Looking at them on the web just isn't the same. Filming the exhibition gives it a sense of scale not to mention the buzz and excitement you bring to it. Only wish I could get to NYC to see it in the flesh. Cheers

Of course we appreciate this (your last remark). Appreciate is too weak a word! Please don't stop 'doing this for all of you' as you say = (for us). There must be, among your fans, many who live in sort of dead-end backwater places and who just cannot do without your videos, just cannot do without your ALWAYS passionately interesting accounts, all the fascinating détails - often thought-provoking - you give us - SO generously. THANK YOU! a thousand times James Kalm !!

Is their policy still the same, now that it is 4 years later? Beyond the amazing artwork and your braves attempt to film it, I am amazed at the huge real estate these mega galleries can afford. Once you pass through those frosted doors, you really are on another planet. Is this really the future of galleries? Thanks James and Kate. Chris

you are awesome brother. a true lover of art. your work brings the finest art to thousands who, like myself, would've otherwise missed the exhibit. these people don't realize that in the long run, more people will be exposed to this exhibition via your work, that by the work of larry gagosian himself. blissX ps. why wouldn't you get written permission beforehand? given your audience you shouldn't have much difficulty.

Totally agree, James. He was a "colorist". The courage he had to paint over large areas on his surfaces is remarkable. It's what attracts me to his work. He knew color. I'm in love with the blues he used.

I love what you did Sir. Your narration is on point. It seems that real artists recognize one another. I would like to share a studio with you sometime. I have seen so much bad art in my time. I always felt so isolated. The abstract--street stuff was always easy for me. I just did not think it a great contribution to the world.

I loved this show. I hope they do another one soon. The last one previous to this I believe was in 08 in Brooklyn. Amazing works! You may have gained some re-known in your travels but as long as they are not aggressive or disrespectful towards you I feel the guards are simply doing their jobs. I found them to be indifferent for the most part and I only saw one instance where a guard had to get verbally aggressive to keep a man from touching one of the paintings.

If you studied Jean-Michel Basquiat and his art work which was base off graffiti ; has the question ever come up who he was writing over in some of his painting from the mid 80's. I saw a documentary where they said or he said he would write over his own work. Now does that make any since when he came from a graffiti back ground.
Answer NO. Then comes the question then who was he writing over in some of the pieces he did?

He was a rebel like you and that was why people followed him. It is funny that they treated you the same way like some galleries did when the artist was alive-The funny part is that they are black. lol
