I've decided to start a second coin roll hunting series to see how many bank boxes it takes to fill an entire Dansco Album for Nickels dated 1938-1998. There are 136 slots to fill in Series 2 Books along with the 138 spots for Series 1.
This is part 97 of the series (Boxes 166-167 for Series 1, Boxes 66-67 for Series 2) and I do plan on updating it from each nickel box I hunt from this point forward until the nickel coin collection is completed! It may be a little tougher due to the sheer amount of uncirculated nickel boxes we keep getting but I will keep trying!

FYI - The Dansco Album does not have spots for some coins but we'll be hunting these boxes of nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.

Wow rob congrats thats so cool to find a collection dump box you seriously deserve it. I love the bank searches you do. I know you always say you dont really like to do customer rolls because people might think you just put the coin in yourself but i say you got a good community that knows you are a honest person! and it would be cool to see what you find, especially now days people might be taking more of there change into the bank for groceries or gas.

2:49 I imagine Rob walking into a bank while holidaying in Mexico, insisting to buy a banksealed boxes of coins, of cours after checking through any holes in the bottom. Then walk to the beach, set up a plastic table, roll out his mat and begin hunting for some goodies.

Same. Found some 1962, 63, and 64 proof nickels as well as plenty of buffalos, not to mention a beat up V nickel.

This search is a tribute to your persistence while coin roll hunting. Finding rare dates and mint marks takes a stick-to-a-tive-ness seldom seen. It is most gratifying to be associated with you!

I did this back in the 2009-ish time frame. It was a lot easier back then, although I will admit to buying a 50-d because I had everything else. I was constantly amazed at the tremendous number of 1964 nickels still in circulation back then, and I still find them fairly often just in pocket change without CR hunting.

Me and my daughter have been watching to see when you got that 50D. She couldn’t understand why it took so long cause I found one in the first 5 boxes of my album fill. I was extremely lucky! Still missing a few key dates and D and S war nickels. I have a ton of P war nickels but being here in TN understandable. Congratulations!

This was an amazing hunt! I remember watching the first episode all the way back in 2020 and have watched every one of them since. Congratulations! I also think you should keep the album for yourself because of the time and effort put into it.
