She is supportive, & I luv this union. But she should've helped him out, when they drive to GA. It's good that he wants to be independent (& she wants him to be as well) But the truth is, he's limited to what he can do. I'm sure he was exhausted, driving all them hours.

A boy from my community just had a terrible accident with an ATV wreck, he’s now paraplegic and still has too much weakness to even talk. Seeing how much “normal” life can still be after an SCI is so reassuring. Thank you for this ❤️🙏🏼

Shout out to the brilliant electrical, mechanical, and bio mechanical engineers! They do so much to help give as much independence as possible to the disabled communities with ever increasing innovations.

I remember when Cole was showing how he drives for the first time; it was like 5 or 6 fails attempts before to get it right with the chair 😅😅😅😅
7 fails and he got stuck, then hit the curb in the drive through, haha.

I work for a car insurance company that was founded on and continues to be focused on insuring disabled drivers and adapted vehicles and honestly, your truck adaptations blew my mind. That set up is incredible. I've never see anything like it. So glad you have that vehicle and that set up to give you the independence and ability to travel!

It would be neat to see all the family trying the different adaptions that Cole has had to do. Like moving around in a wheelchair and driving. eating with the specialized utensils, doing basic things with no hand functions, etc.

I do enjoy "day-in-the-life" types of videos. They help me to see what's not so accessible (or at all accessible) for someone in a wheelchair (or other assistive device). I'm starting to notice when I'm out and about when something isn't accessible, and I'm asking my kids if they think someone using a wheelchair would be able to access certain things. And, wow, so many doors are not accessible for wheelchairs or anyone with low arm strength!! Fast food restaurants always seem to have heavy doors!
So thanks for helping us to become more aware! Now I just have to figure out how I can help make our world more accessible. :)
It would be cool to see Charisma use Cole's hand grabber device that he has.

I have the controls that goes down for gas and forward break. I also have a round ball thing on the steering wheel to help me with turns. I don't have any of the extended things like you do for like the blinker, etc... I think Charisma would be fine if she used it a few more times. When I took drivers education I had to practice a little more than everyone else in the parking lot before I was aloud on the roads. The controls were the opposite that what my car ended up with. It was forward for gas and down for break. Every time I get a different vehicle the controls feel different. Makes me nervous for first few times. Great job Charisma!👍
Way to go! Being able to drive definitely allows for so much more freedom. I can't walk much but driving is one thing I can do. I've known people who had extras to drive but for most people that would be confusing.
My dad would try and drive my van. He has a built-up shoe and had to use my hand contoura. For gas and brake. He would give me whiplash almost. Thank goodness one day in his small town we stopped at the stop sign. He forgot to take off low he jumped and we bounced and I said go because we were in the middle of the road. Then we jumped again. I was so happy to get out. We laughed about it for a long time.

My Son use to be in a wheelchair and I sat in it one time and tried to maneuver around so I could see what he goes through. I was so exhausted in just a short time!!! I really had more compassion for him after that. But he had to do that every day. I just admire anyone who has to be in a wheelchair. Bless you all.
