Thank you for these videos I don’t know anything about truck driving at all I’m starting a cdl driving class in September and the fact that they recently changed the dmv tests has had me nervous since it sounds like it’s all still new and up in the air
No you CANNOT pass the white box in front. Our box line was at around 50 feet, instead of 60 feet, so you notice I had to move left side of the cone forward to give more accurate feel of the actual test length. =)
anything that is no good, you need to say "my windshield has a crack. I will notify my school". This will depend on the examiner if he/she feels it is safe to go on the road or not. As long as it is not too distractive or unsafe, it should be fine (in my opinion), but again this is all depends on the examiner.
Are we allowed to stop while doing the " offset backing" to make the steering wheel straight? Because i see he backed up directly to the box and didn't stop the truck to maneuver the steering wheel which is great but in my case I'm not sure if i could do it like that
I fail the very first try because I sound my horn but my truck still in reverse Neva sound ur horn till u finish get out and look when ever u can alway remember the test is about safety
Does anyone know how they score basic skills. How many points do u start with? How many points if your not in the box? How many points for an encroachment? I’m not understanding the point system, there is nothing on line that clarifies it. Thank you in advance
Watching this bc I failed my first test on the reverse offset🤦🏾♂️I was a fucking mental wreck that day bc I was so nervous and forgot how to properly set up so it was a disaster
All the Trucking’s school got the day cabs plus small short trailers and I get the otr cabs with the biggest trailer their is should’ve gotten a different school🤦🏽♂️
Thank you for your request. First of all, if you want to get a class A license, you need to have a written permit before you can drive a truck. You can contact the school to get tuition information. I only teach! =)
I need to come over where this guy is. The Pomona one they don’t even help you just leave you to yourself to learn
Thank you so much for your compliment James. =) Just practice and you will do fine. =)
That’s right don’t touch that horn on straight back you have to go all the ways back passing the cones
Yup! Some student got Nurvous and sound the horn without passing the line completely!
Thank you for all the information. They’re very helpful
That’s good to hear! 😊
Very nice 👍
Thank you for this video, Im taking my cdl class A test this Tuesday, and was a little nervous with all the changes, but now it looks do-able!

Will you be doing a video on the new pre trip inspection???
Pretrip is already available on few of my videos. ua-cam.com/video/LvbGwbNmPnk/v-deo.html
You can go past box in front when you straighten out?
Examiners need to get on same page.

We’re now doing this in Nevada
I see! good luck!
Hello Gene!
I just noticed my windshield has Crack. Will dmv disallow my vehicle for skills test?

I believe there should be a cone at front corner of 3 foot box. This looks too easy without the cone
yes.
Do all states have to eventually adopt this?
Not sure
So honk after being done with every skill? And if does this apply to ca?
Yes, honk after you are done with each of the skills, so that the examiner knows you are done. No honk means you are not done.

You're allowed to stop.
Correct! you are allow to stop and go when you backing up.
@@genefeng I live in Minnesota and in my school we're not allowed to stop.
@@teannadachosenone86 that’s odd. Going straight can not stop and go. Back up truck is ok to stop and go. You have free pull up too. 😊

Oh no……. Yes, always put on neutral and pull your parking brakes before sounding your horn….

If you do it the way he did you would have ran over the cone by the white line .
Not fully understand what you mean by that.
Fail
@@chriswall618 how did you fail?
