Holy cow, he actually hit a Million.... I'll be honest, I truly thought it would never happen, it seemed like somebody froze it where it was.. Congrats big guy. It's been a long road together.
I lean towards Anna's position. Most people will not listen if you come in too hard at them. Defence mechanisms take over and reason goes out the window.
Cenk's position is being misrepresented here. What he's saying is that whenever Democrats struggle in polls they always roll over on cultural issues and advise voters to do the same thing. They don't hold firm on the cultural issues and then push hard on economic issues. Converting people on cultural issues is going to be hard. And as Cenk says, the battle with Conservatives will last a long time. Instead of trying to convert them, give them what they want economically and where they already agree with us. The biggest transphobe will vote for you if you raise his standard of living. We don't have to change Republicans right away. Focus on economic issues where they already agree and don't concede ground on cultural issues when you know you're right
@@jamespower5165 Well from what I saw in this clip, Anna made more sense. Also, no the biggest transphobes will not vote with you if you make their lives better. They've been trained to hurt themselves and vote against their own interests while being proud of it. As the saying went "They'd rather be killed by a white man than saved by a black man", they'll act the same way towards LGBTQ people.
Same, generalizing all of their voter base isn't helpful, like yeah some of them can't be reasoned with and are absolute bigots, but some of them can be and we need to be putting the message out there
Ana focuses on areas of agreement. Cenk focuses on the hypocrisy of conservative "values". She is saying more what conservatives want to hear and he is saying more what liberals want to hear. So she is prob better at converting conservatives, but he is better at retaining liberals. If we only framed issues to be appealing to conservatives, I would lose my mind at never pointing out their hypocrisy. So both are necessary.
Seriously Kyle stopped me from sympathizing with incels and other creeps big time I am glad I actually asked myself to research actual policy and found I’m incredibly left leaning
What a great Michael Brooks quote! "Be kind to people. Be ruthless to systems" Imagine if we all had just a tiny bit of Michael's balanced thinking. Great piece, Kyle.

But if you focus on the many people that aren’t past convincing, you can win. Policy that helps everyone wins. It’s the piecemeal that Democrats offer that lose elections.
It seems clear to me that Ana is now trying to convince those people by pivoting to the right on certain topics. She thinks she can bring them over by saying things that Ben Shapiro will agree with her on. It's gross what she's doing. Not only is she saying things that are wrong but she's being disingenuous by saying things that she might not even believe for the sake of converting people.
@@Shark-hn4mv But the many is enough for the left to have the right to ditch people on the fringes. The moderates and even solid conservatives can be turned into leftists.
This is a frustrating one because I technically agree with Ana but I also very much understand where Cenk is coming from, and the fact is we absolutely cannot afford to give a millimeter (or even appear to) on those social issues. Peoples' LIVES are at stake here. And while I fundamentally agree on the idea of "Lets work together where we agree", I don't blame people for being wary of it. You can never trust someone who literally denies your basic humanity. We can't treat those issues as mere "diSaGreEmEntS". And it's especially horrendous to tell the very people whose existence is constantly under threat that they should play nice with the people threatening them for the sake of some admittedly, yes, important economic issues.

I have no idea how this guy shops for clothes. How does your frontal cortex allow you to take that shirt home after paying his subscribers hard earned money on that mess?
Ana is slowly losing respect for Cenk (and much of the left). I'm sure she has personal affection for him. But the magic is gone. She sees him more clearly now. To quote Ana, Cenk is "purposely inflammatory and ridiculous" and someone who "LOVES to strawman. LOVES straw-manning and INTENTIONALLY misrepresenting." Not my words. Ana just told that to Cenk to his face. Ben Mankiewics once told Cenk the same thing years ago in a moment of rage. Heres the video ua-cam.com/video/8OgUZDbc8Y0/v-deo.html
To be fair, nobody can. Right wing voters are delusional and live in another reality built on lies and they love being lied to. They have zero interest in living in reality. Whether it be sky fairies that grant their wishes or time traveling space wizards or Hunter Biden's laptop.
Ana's right. Probably the least respected, most underreported psych study: facts don't change opinions, respect *does.* The human ego is incredible, and we hate admitting when we're wrong. If two people debate an issue, they're not just debating said issue, but sadly often "debating" who is better and who is more intelligent. This is why you get people fighting tooth and nail over issues and getting really personal when it isn't necessary. But if you give your opponent an out, if you approach them with respect and approach it more with an attitude of "hey man, I get a feeling someone fed you bad info, but I know you're smart enough to decide for yourself when given other studies saying the opposite too. Check these out" as an example, then you're far more likely to change someone's mind. This disarms them and they don't feel like they have to defend their ego against you, so they approach the issue open-minded. Best example of this is Darryl Davis, the black man who befriends and converts Ku Klux Klan members. If he were out on the street screaming at a racist for being a monster, then guess what: the black people call them monsters, the KKK members pat them on the back and say "you're amazing." Take a guess who they end up flocking to. What Darryl Davis understands is that if you kill them with kindness, they find themselves in an awkward position where continuing to hang out with someone they like means abandoning their morals, and this makes them question said morals entirely. The *entire reason* the US political climate is so toxic is because we've lost respect. No one talks to their political opponents as if those are well-meaning people with different life experiences and thus different opinions, but rather they speak to each other as if the other side is nothing but unforgivable total idiots. All this does it intensify the vitriol each side has, so it's important that *everyone* stops. I mean, take a look at the frequency of Nazi accusations in the 90's (not unheard of, not common) to Nazi accusations in the 2000's (fairly common) to Nazi accusations now. (nonstop; the term has entirely lost meaning and if an actual Nazi popped up in US politics, most of us would miss it under the assumption that the guy's political opponents are just exaggerating again) Things are getting worse, not better, and we need to change the tone of our political discussions before anything'll change.
"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." - LBJ.
@@Aaron-kj8dv not really, wokeness is the same thing as white supremacy except they pretend to be "the good guys". The only reason you would think minority groups need help from the government is if you believe they're inferior to the majority group.
@@aboutthat1440 I mean, FDR's racism against blacks and Asians was so appalling that even his own wife was shocked by it. FDR literally wrote a college paper arguing that black people are not fully human but "semi-beasts." He absolutely HATED Asians and wrote about his absolute disgust at seeing mixed race children. He said he had never seen a mixed race Asian that wasn't "a most unfortunate specimen." He literally threw hundreds of thousands of legal Japanese citizens in concentration camps and laid the groundwork for nuking Japan. I'm Swedish. I doubt even 1% of leftist Americans know that for most of their history, the Scandinavian social democrats were full throated eugenicists. I'm not talking "some unfortunate quotes." I mean the Swedish social democrats were full on into scientific raciam, ironically often clashing with Swedish lutherans who thought race caregorizations were contrary to the church. Sweden opened the world's first "race biological institute" in Uppsala Sweden, with the explicit mission to "perfect the aryan race." This was enacted by the Social democrat government led by Hjalmar Branting. "The ambition was to make Sweden a leader in this new modern field, which was described as crucial for public health. It would make it possible to trace hereditary diseases and prevent them from spreading, and would study and counteract the harmful effects of mixing what were perceived as superior and inferior ‘races’. Arguments were drawn from the animal and plant kingdoms. Artur Engberg, who ten years later would become Minister of Education and Ecclesiastical Affairs, with ultimate responsibility for the Swedish school system, pointed out, for example, that: “It is remarkable that while we are extremely concerned about the pedigrees of our dogs and horses, we show no interest at all in considering how to preserve the integrity of our own Swedish people.” Heredity was in vogue as the principal explanatory model for human characteristics. Talk about the different value of different races provoked few protests in this context, such ideas being long established, particularly because of colonialism and the slave trade. Moreover, the rediscovery of Mendelian genetics in 1900 enhanced the scientific legitimacy of these ideas."
Cenk is uniquely capable of having his own mind changed while in the most hostile & confrontational environments. And wrongly assumes others can do the same. But most people have a backfire effect
I mean the thing also is that there are other people like him and the question "So you support criminals then?" probably can get through to a decent amount of right-wingers and at least make them stop and think "oh yeh they actually are criminals" rather than just overlook it becuase they're on the same side but Anna is also right that a lot of other will be able to see how that question is also kinda disingenous. And also the idea of only attacking politicians or people is also dumb, like you obviously do bothjust againwith different techniques really the entire flaw is their argument seems to be the premise that there is somehow one universally correct way of doing things.
@b4krr To be fair, he does do it a lot. I'm an avid TYT watcher and I think I have a pretty good grasp on his mindset at this point, but he really could stand to do a little bit of reflecting on his tactics. Another thing to note: Cenk talks frequently about being shamed out of his previously held conservative positions, so I get why he thinks it could work for others. I think that's just another common pitfall of our human tendency to assume others do or can think like ourselves.
I never listen to people who call me a fucking idiot, it’s a lack of respect. People can have opinions for loads of reason, low intelligence is rarely the reason. Culture and upbringing is biggest factor, so talking to people like PEOPLE is the best way to get them on your side
Brooks was far better than many of the progressives in the media. He actually knew what he was talking about. Especially foreign issues where the progressives sucks monkeyballs.
I watched this debate live on TYT. It was obvious to me that Ana was largely correct and it made me like TYT more, which I've had a huge issue with them since FTV.
You need to separate TFG cultists from the voters who are on the fence and are swayed to Trump by the fake populism. Like Ana said, there are millions of people who voted for Obama and Trump, and there is a REASON for that, their disgust with the status quo. That being said, I think she is foolish to think that many conservatives will be receptive to the left if we try to persuade them on economic issues. Most of them already see us as an existential threat no matter what we say. It all comes down to whether they have any rational instincts left.
Some of them you can't but some are gettable, my friend voted Trump in 2016 but not 2020 and his politics evolved from a right winger to more of an enlightened centrist and even left on some issues. Some will always be tfg but there's at least 20-30 percent of people that are gettable and that can decide an election
@@ARJaymusic If by "decide an election" you mean getting people to switch from voting Republican to Democrat, what does that actually accomplish? I agree there are people on the right who are gettable, but having them switch over to the Democratic Party won't accomplish anything since the Dems support the same corporate and militaristic interests as Republicans. That's why I find many Dems to also be "tfg" because they can't be convinced to vote third party and stop being blue MAGA.
Remember Russiagate? Remember all the people who voted for Biden because he would help the black community? And erase loan debt? Sometimes there is no reasoning. People pick their side. I grew up conservative, but you were one of the first left leaning people to pull me out of it about 9 years ago. I think coming from a very conservative town, with so many of my friends growing up to not be, I definitely think people (especially under 25) can be pulled to the left. Outside of winning elections, I think it’s a net good in general because progressivism tends to promote more a empathetic and community focused ideology than conservatism, which is just better for society.
@@X2LR8 lol, American cities are not leftists, they are center-left or maybe social democratic at best. They fundamentally still ascribe to the logic of Capitalism
@@X2LR8 Lol I’ve heard that from people in the city I’ve moved to a lot. In my opinion, the issue with blue cities is they all have very liberal policies that don’t really fix anything, but I really differentiate that from progressive solutions. for example, Homelessness is a MASSIVE issue in my city and up until recently they were allowed to camp out anywhere. Conservative voters wanted the camps gone but don’t care where they go, the liberal local politicians mostly wanted the homeless to still be able to camp out, but do nothing to help them. Progressive voices wanted to help fund ways to help the homeless where they could get back on their feet and wouldn’t need to be camping on the streets. So i can understand why liberal policies can look bad, because i think some are very bad, but I also think that progressiveness looks very different than traditional “blue” areas
@@yeahok728 I think there is truth to what you say. I've seen tents all over the place on many cities. In the big scheme of things, it really doesn't cost all that much to house homeless and provide mental health and substance abuse counseling as needed. As for me I live in a city and state with the highest tax burden in the entire country. It doesn't fall on the wealthy. Everyone is hit with sky high taxes and fees and much of that money goes to fund the most underfunded pension system in the nation instead of things that help the people. There's also really bad revolving door "justice" here where violent criminals are given slaps on the wrist and let out in no time at all to re-offend. Many areas are really unsafe. Let the drug "criminals" out and lock up the real violent ones. That would really improve the general outlook on that front.
@@X2LR8 No I 100% agree with that, I think it’s where a lot of blue areas fail. I think we should work on real rehabilitation and prevention for violent crime and I don’t really believe we should be jailing people harshly, if at all, over non-violent crimes. But I def think blue cities are failing by being easy on violent crime, that’s definitely fair
I agree with Cenk; the problem I have with Ana's argument is that it removes personal responsibility from voters, if they can be manipulated to the right that means they also can be to the left and what she doesn't realize is that way of thinking preserve the system, it doesn't break it, Cenk approach will.
Alienating others won't bring them to your side. That's literally never worked. Democrats having a holier than thou attitude and thinking everyone who doesn't think 100% like them is stupid is why we got Bush, and Trump...and probably why a Republican will be our next president.
This is why i stopped watching TYT. They’re more and more unhinged and angry with their rhetoric and even Ana sounds more and more like cenk recently so I’m glad she finally called him out on his rhetoric and straw manning. They’ve been doing the thing they claim to hate. They claim the right are the unhinged angry ones while screaming at their audience in unhinged Alex Jones sounding rants. Have some tact and nuance and stop pretending you’re not just as unhinged as the people you’re railing about.
One of the main standards I get any Right wing person to agree to whenever I engage in discussion is the fact that the issues in our country are a disagreement between the top and the bottom, NOT the Left and Right . When we start from that agreement, we discover we have much more in common than we imagined. Even the ridiculous “culture war” BS is mostly defeated by this premise directly out of the gate. It makes for much more agreeable circumstances as the foundation of the debate and also cause the other person to reevaluate some of their own political beliefs.
It's hard to convince people of things they don't believe in, but I think the best approach is just increasing voter turnout and campaigning in districts/states that swing.
Id say that their major difference in communication reflects where they grew up. As far as I understand Cenk (NJ) vs Anna (CA). The way Cenk talks isn’t considered so aggressive from what I’ve seen in NY and NJ. The form of communication is loud and direct (in many neighborhoods). People tell you the truth, often when you don’t want to hear it. It can be shocking but many people appreciate it (myself included). I do like the way you mention Anna’s forward strategic thinking though. I think this is important and I hope that for progress people can start coming together recognizing our common goals (as we have more than not).
I was a registered republican for 17 years. It’s channels like this one that helped me for figure out what were my real politics. But I don’t know how much it would have helped to be called stupid or be told I loved criminals back then.
It's not helpful, any more than saying all gay people are groomers is helpful from the other side. I think it's meant to be hyperbolic on purpose in response to all the "law and order" talk from Republicans and accusations that Dems are soft on crime. It's what socdems can never deal with. They lack a criticism of capitalism based in material conditions that lead to things like a lack of trust in government, conspiracies, etc . They are looking for a reason why their lives are getting worse all the time and are diverted away by well meaning people like Ana and Cenk, from the giant capitalist elephant in the room, staring them in the face.
Disagree, you can reason with people with different beliefs and even convince them otherwise. For example people go through their lives believing different entities control existence and change even those beliefs.
Ana is out of her mind nowadays. She has become unbearable man!!! She's also too full of herself. Girl, Cenk is your Boss!!!! Sorry, but you can't talk to your boss like that!!!!
99% of conservatives don’t hate gays. They just don’t want anything sexual ( gay or straight) taught to young kids or obviously males using women restrooms. Now they are called homophobic. The same with our borders being overwhelmed and people having to compete with illegals for jobs that artificially surprises wages. Now they are called xenophobic. If you don’t believe in dividing people through CRT and telling white people that they are inherently evil then you’ll be labeled racist. This is why no sane person ( unless you are extremists or self loathing white) can support what liberals preach. I suppose if you are against outsourcing jobs to foreign workers then that makes you xenophobic?
It's not noise to leftists either. Most leftists acknowledge "all the other stuff" society needs other than wealth. I doubt Kyle will never get it though. He thinks throwing money at anything will fix the problem because we've gone past discrimination as a society. I.E. the "End of History" theory. He has that in common with neoliberals/conservatives like the Clintons and Bushs
I agree with that completely. Around here, in South Dakota, they are terrified of "transexual athletes, BLM, Antifa, Gay People and Big Gubment Libs" . It's all culture war garbage. The last straw for me was cenk's tweet drama from years ago that re-surfaced, and his response was "I used to be conservative back then". Which to me felt like a really weird excuse because it implies that anyone conservative would have said whatever it was he had said. The reason I watch kyle is because I feel so far like I'm getting a good amount of opinion vs fact in his videos. With Cenk. Its been 3 years now and I have learned that you can't persuade a swath of people. You be hardline and set the clear boundaries. We can't always be fence sitters. It gets us nowhere and nothing happens. People have their own agency even though propaganda is more pervasive than ever. You damn near have to just fight for what you believe is right and assume that others won't come along.
Yet people like Russell Brand, Jimmy Dore, Krystal Ball, Saagar Engeti etc do end up convincing people. I'm suddenly lilly Ana's recent takes, she's become less militant and making sensible points that people can fairly engage with. Cenk is still 'meh', blinkered and biased.
I agree as well. I came to that conclusion since 2014 after seeing how steadfast and hypocritical people are. Just yesterday I encountered this with an ex. The person said that they were an avid Hillary supporter and hated Trump until a friend asked why Trump fell out of favor, was it because of something Trump said or did or just because the media said to hate him. The ex listed the Mexican comments. The person then claimed the ex was being propagandized. Ex then claims to have watched the escalator comments and became convinced that Trump was taken out of context and was actually right and just. Saw the media was indeed clipping bits and leaving out the context which showed Trump was always right and righteous. The most lies told during any presidency in American history occurred during Trump's, but not by him, by the media and all Trump haters. Trump made promises when he ran and he accomplished all and then some. He was the greatest and Obama was the worse ever. Why was Obama the worse you might ask. Well because Obama promoted, pushed and normalized LGBT rights and pedophilia. Trump also gave the farmers tons of cash and this made food prices the lowest they have ever been. Every country's welfare increased and this was because of his new god Trump. Black people should worship Trump and used to because Snoop Digg rapped about him back in the day. When I pointed out that Obama in no way did what he said and only signed the bill giving homosexuals the right to wed, Trump had to give the farmers money because he almost bankrupted them with his policies, food prices weren't their lowest, Trump never achieved any goals other than the Muslim ban, gave massive tax breaks to the ultra rich, caused prices of goods to escalate with his tariff policies and such, the ex became incensed. This person never addressed any of the points, but instead started spitting out right-wing talking points. Literally without any context or these having been discussed. Ex yelled: 'who came up with super predators, cosigned the bill saying black people should be jailed longer for crimes than whites, black people play the victim when they complain about getting harsher penalties, who commits the most crime (blacks is the claim), which race gets killed the most by police, where can stats about this be found, etc etc. These were listed, not discussed. I was literally rolling my eyes at the imbecility of this. I said you seem determined to avoid an actual debate and is listing things as if they have anything to do with our conversation. You clearly didn't know anything about these topics and just heard of them from some propagandists. The ex became even more incensed and then claimed I didn't know anything about these topics and needed to Google them. Anyone seeing my comments through the years knows I have argued with people and listed facts for years and talked about literally all of these things the ex screamed, while providing proof for my views. I simply directed the ex Google me . Of course the ex won't check out my online profile. It would mean I know more than the ex on these topics and was right, proving the ex wrong. These Trump morons need to stay in their bubble, they don't care to be confronted with facts. When people choose to be dumb, ignorant and hypocritical, there is no reasoning with them. Period! They aren't helpless. They aren't victims. It's a conscious choice.
Then you've lost already. End of story. But the fact is, with all due respect, you're wrong. Ana illustrated why: a lot of Bernie voters voted Trump. A lot of OBAMA voters voted Trump. This swathe of people you CAN persuade. There's definitely boundaries to be set. Bernie set them when he went to Liberty University and politely but firmly defended his stance on abortion. You can do it in a way that makes those people respect you, or you can continue trying to smash them to bits. And if they won't respect you regardless, that's the time to turn away from them, not hyper-focus on them.

It wasn't the people who acted like Cenk that pulled me out of it, it was people more like Ana. If you just attack them, human nature is to further entrenching yourself in your position.
Totally agree, Cenk is right. Like being nice doesn't work if the person thinks you're a "groomer" lol. The right has been trained to think that the left hates them and wants to destroy America. Having a nice dialogue isn't really possible with that type of person. It really takes a major life changing event for those people to change their mind. The best option here is to actually go after people that don't vote, as you don't have to spend years trying to convince them of something.
I'm with Cenk on this. Republicans aren't interested in your facts. We've tried convincing them. We've tried being constructive. it's only caused them to move further right. A more aggressive approach is needed to reach them in addition to continued constructive efforts. Ana is talking pie in the sky.
Democrats aren't interested in your facts. We've tried convincing them. We've tried being constructive. it's only caused them to move further left. A more aggressive approach is needed to reach them in addition to continued constructive efforts.
Problem with that is, shame and ridicule is only gonna pour gasoline on the fire. It will only alienate right wingers a lot faster. What we need is a smart way to convince them in a way that will make them understand. Right wingers are usually not as educated as liberals, but they are often more practical, and like to work with their hands. Use that. Go into a setting where they thrive. (Nascar races, industrial work environments, and utility work environments for example) And ask them what they think would improve the country, and then make your counterpoint in a respectful manner. It will be hard, and many will not listen, but if a few does listen, that is a few more that join our side. What will not work is talking down to them, ridiculing them, or shaming them.....

Congrats on a million subs and thanks for adding nuance, intelligence, and principle into the current political discourse of which there is very little.
That's the part I don't understand why is that offensive because it's true. They need to take a look at the people who viewed as Heroes who are above the law. Steve Bannon, Rush Limbaugh, Eddie Gallagher, Kyle Rittenhouse the j-6 insurrectionists, and of course Big Daddy Trump himself. These people have done things that if anybody of color or someone they don't like did they would call for a death sentence.
From this little snippet, I agree with Anna. It might even be correct and feel good emotionally to consider all the Republican voters beyond help, but it doesn’t actually help the situation. Plenty of them are angry for good reasons, they just think the answers are things that we don’t. That’s where the persuasion needs to come in.
I’ve been watching this channel since 2014-15 when Kyle was still at TYT. Since then it’s been my daily news outlet. I know Kyle doesn’t read comments often but I wanted to say thanks for uploading!
Kyle was never "at TYT". Cenk liked Kyle so he simply added Kyle's link to the TYT Network of channels. Kyle was not employed by them. Not apart of any revenue. Kyle and Cenk found Justice Democrats together, but Kyle was never at TYT. I believe around the time that JD got rid of Cenk, Kyle also left JD and didn't want his link on TYT Network anymore.
It's scientifically proven that just telling people the facts doesn't change their opinions, it reinforces them. If the facts support their feelings they use it as confirmation for. If the facts don't, they use it as confirmation that you don't speak in good faith.
Science rarely proves anything for certain. Many things, if not most are theories, limited incomplete studies. But i do think people arent swayed by facts unless they can use said facts to support their core beliefs for the sake of self/community (preservation of way of living in ways deemed necessary in their mind(often religiously driven))
I get Cenk's frustration but I agree with Ana, nobody changes their mind because somebody starts wagging a finger in their face telling them how stupid they are.
Doesn’t matter. A lot of people change their minds once you start wagging your finger. For example, if I say “x group is bad and here is why.” I have a better chance of changing the minds of people who are nuetral.
It's called moralist. It used to be filled with soccer mom with their box wine satanic panic. Now it's filled with more leftist that view everything is systematic discrimination. The only reason it us viewed as worse Is because there is no basis or even attempt to justify it. The satanic panic at least had to pay lip service to the Bible so you point to creationism.
Comparing FL in the Obama era to the FL of today is apples and oranges. Our entire socio-political dynamic has shifted since then. Anyone who has been paying attention knows that due to cultural, societal, economical factors, and COVID - people have started to shift both their political leanings but also their literal geographical location. I moved for the first time in my life to a new state 2 years ago, and millions of others have done the same for the above reasons. This demonstrably alters election results, voter turnout, etc. Simply giving "the benefit of the doubt" to Trump conservatives in an effort to grant them the empathy they would never return is a joke. Sitting behind a desk with a continued social media trajectory surrounding political discussion doesn't mean you ACTUALLY get out and talk to everyday people. In my lived experience these past few years, even if you manage to get a conservative in a 1:1 conversation and feel it was productive in a deconstructive way, they are still going to walk away unchanged. They might not all be the hateful monsters we characterize them as, but they possess that quality which we on the left do not: shamelessness. They continue forward on their path of whatever "ism" or form of bigotry they started, no matter what facts you present or anecdotes you add. Any considerable real-world experience in conversing with these people shows how far gone they are. I'm fully with Cenk on this: they can get left behind, kicking and screaming and yearning for the past. We aren't beholden to them, we don't need to coddle them. They are the minority. We need to be more unified and match their energy in how we organize our political ends, and not waiver. Until we do, they will continue to have their small victories that - as we clearly see - are adding up to regressive policy and shift in the social paradigm. We need to render them obsolete and irrelevant. In their wallowing, perhaps they will come around. Or they won't. And they can "like it or leave", just as they tell us.

“Only a fool fights in a burning house“ is one of my favorite lines from the original 1960s Star Trek series. Ironically this line was uttered by Kang portrayed by Michael Ansara, a Commander of the reoccurring antagonist of the entire series, the Klingons in an episode, titled Day of the Dove. An extremely powerful non-corporeal being brings the Enterprise and a Klingon ship in direct conflict with one another for its own purposes. Sound familiar? This episode is directed by Marvin J.
It did not work for Hillary. It was her nail in the coffin.

I understand Anna's point of 'are we convincing anyone with this attitude'. My argument is there are many folks past 'convincing'.
And...? Many isn't most.

Cenk needs to look into neurology and negotiations and he would see he’s completely wrong. You won’t logic them out of their feelings
I love this! If you would please link to the study. I’m a psych nurse and I love delving into studies like that.

@@Aaron-kj8dv not really, wokeness is the same thing as white supremacy except they pretend to be "the good guys". The only reason you would think minority groups need help from the government is if you believe they're inferior to the majority group.
Bro was so racist.
Artur Engberg, who ten years later would become Minister of Education and Ecclesiastical Affairs, with ultimate responsibility for the Swedish school system, pointed out, for example, that: “It is remarkable that while we are extremely concerned about the pedigrees of our dogs and horses, we show no interest at all in considering how to preserve the integrity of our own Swedish people.”
Heredity was in vogue as the principal explanatory model for human characteristics. Talk about the different value of different races provoked few protests in this context, such ideas being long established, particularly because of colonialism and the slave trade. Moreover, the rediscovery of Mendelian genetics in 1900 enhanced the scientific legitimacy of these ideas."

Remember Russiagate? Remember all the people who voted for Biden because he would help the black community? And erase loan debt?

I grew up conservative, but you were one of the first left leaning people to pull me out of it about 9 years ago. I think coming from a very conservative town, with so many of my friends growing up to not be, I definitely think people (especially under 25) can be pulled to the left. Outside of winning elections, I think it’s a net good in general because progressivism tends to promote more a empathetic and community focused ideology than conservatism, which is just better for society.
Growing up in a large very very blue city made me a Conservative in part.

You mean think like terrorist, Taliban, Putin.. that is right wing
Just because someone voted for Obama doesn't mean they don't have racist views

The way Cenk talks isn’t considered so aggressive from what I’ve seen in NY and NJ. The form of communication is loud and direct (in many neighborhoods). People tell you the truth, often when you don’t want to hear it. It can be shocking but many people appreciate it (myself included).
I do like the way you mention Anna’s forward strategic thinking though. I think this is important and I hope that for progress people can start coming together recognizing our common goals (as we have more than not).

The problem is... All the "other stuff" isn't just noise to the right wing. It's the force that drives them
99% of conservatives don’t hate gays.

Worldview converts are rare. But people who will vote a different way aren't.

I mean they are but just don’t say it to their face.
THIS. ALL OF THIS.
Congrats on 1 million Subs kyle, been here since 100k! Well deserved! Keep up the great work!
Shit, how long has Cenk been strawmaning the right? Good on Ana for pointing it out finally
Anna just dropping fucking knowledge bombs these days.
Their minds cant be changed
Progressive candidates got out there talking to the people and won them over. The TFG's will never change
Same as the left
@@nicholasholden1896 we change our minds all the time. New facts come in and then we change.
@@endtimessupportgroup5685 not really, online progressives still push the bloody monday conspiracy even it has been debunked by the book lucky and many journalists
@@endtimessupportgroup5685 They are a bothsider. No sense making a point because "both do it" is the response.
Good conversation to have. It would help the online discourse too if everyone took Ana’s approach
Cenk can’t handle his emotions. He’s been doing this UA-cam thing since the 00’s, you’d think he’d be better at communicating ideas without mockery, screaming and using straw man tactics. His lack of evolution is astounding
Congratulations on 1 MILLION Subscribers Kyle!
Chomsky who is…
You guessed it…
The cousin of Noam Chomsky.
Hey, Richard thanks for that added context to the line and episode i never knew that.
@@fintan9218 I have always liked that particular line from that episode and I reference it from time to time but the Marvin J. Chomsky thing really blew my mind. ☀️ 🕊️ 🖖🏼
