Superb tutorial. Also dont forget that Argent had the original of "God Gave Rock N Roll To You" which Kiss covered in the early 1990's for the soundtrack for "Bill & Ted".
Russ Ballard is a name I haven't heard in a long, long time. Remember 'Voices'. I never knew he wrote this song, definitely a classic Ace tune. Fantastic lesson, thanks Kelly.
Fantastic last thing I’ve seen a couple other people do this but they do it different and the sounds more accurate it looks easier. Thank you for sharing!
Amazing lesson man, and thank you for putting this together. I've loved watching your content over the years, as you are not only a sick player, but a very gifted teacher. Appreciate all the effort you put in to your UA-cam channel, and hope to see you post more of these in the future.
Excellent work my friend !!!!! This takes me way back to 7 years old....This was my first literal entry into music ...I loved music and rock as a child. Parents bought me a kiss Guitar and this album Ace F album. I remember the guitar was white plastic electric but had classical strings on it. It was not really tunable hahah. It was my first instrument. Funny enough. Fractured mirror was mainly what I listened to over and over. Great job man.
Best Comment Ever! I had an untunable toy guitar also and I was trying to play Proud Mary off of my Dad's CCR Bayou Country album. Ha Ha, not possible! You made my day Thank You!👍
Thanks Kelly! Per usual, I enjoyed that. I've always been partial to Ace Frehley's style and technique. I think he's a real genius when it comes to guitar mastery. Friendly note for what it's worth: I think I noticed some transparent plastic protective covering still on your guitar. I used to do that most of my entire life. Usually things worked to my benefit, furthering the protection I so desired. However, something happened (*note - now I've left protective coverings on for years with no problems whatsoever). On the downside, once I had tried to remove some protective covering (it was looking really dirty, dingy, and beat up) that had been on for maybe say 10 to 15 years. Things didn't work out so well because the protective covering (for whatever reason, and I have no idea how and/or why) welded itself to the plastic it had covered. It looked terrible. But somehow the two elements were able to weld themselves together to become as one element. It looked terrible, but I just had to live with it. I showed it to multiple knowledgeable individuals, and each recommended some type of chemical. I tried them all, and I even tried a few chemicals amongst my own ideas, but nothing ever worked. And now I realize, OF COURSE IT COULD'T WORK JIM, THE ELEMENTS HAD WELDED THEMSELVES TOGETHER. Sounds strange, but I'm telling you brother, it happened. So, from there on out, I always remove all transparent protective coverings.
By far the best of the solo efforts. It's cool if you like Beth better, not looking for a fight. Lol. I really think it's awesome Ace and Peter had the hits on their albums. Thanks for another great lesson!!
Love the song also Kelly what's the chance you can do shock me love your videos wish I had some of your knowledge definitely helping me out thanks for doing what you do you're a big help 🎸🤗
I believe Kiss's best song would have to be "Black Diamond" Kiss had some great music back in the 70's but unfortunately most of their songs had really cheesy lyrics. Kiss could have named their band "Chicks & Dicks" because that's about 95% of what they ever wrote about in their entire career. Ace Frehley's solo album and the one song off of Dynasty "Hard Times" did offer up some of the better song lyrics. Great lesson Kelly. I'm pretty much burnt out on this tune but it was awesome to watch your video. Peace.. Joe
@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar I was at an age of 11 and the german radio played this song from Hello often. It tooked two or three years more to discover rock music :-) Anyway, thank you Kelly
I did not watch my buddies die face down in the muck so people could use sharps in flat keys, even if they are enharmonic. There are rules here! Has the whole world gone crazy?! Am I wrong here?!!
I literally have no idea what you're referring to. Are you commenting on the correct video? I certainly don't mind being corrected on something, however your comment on this one totally puzzles me.
Song starts in E major, moves up a 1/2 step to F major; there is no A# in F major. The four chord is B flat major. Great song, love your tutorials. My apologies for nit picking, but I wasn't expecting it when you said the chords go from F to C to A#. @@KellyDeanAllenGuitar

Always thought the Ace solo album was the best. Quality, as always, KDA!

Great tutorial, thanks!
Great out of the box tutorial! wonderful job and to see this! You made it easy! thank you
Those little Double Stop tricks he's doing is new to me. That's Great! I learned more than a new Song. 🙂👍
I bought this album when it came out. Never thought to try and play it. Now of course I will. Thank you!

Another Russ Ballard song I like is called "Voices" it was played on an episode of Miami Vice way back in the day.
Missed ya bud. Glad you're "recharged" and back at it.

Look forward to checking this out later today! Great choice! Big Ace fan!! Thanks!
Great lesson as expected, I hope the well-deserved rest did the job!
Thank you! Nice tutorial for a catchy song of my childhood!

Nice job explaining the double stop fills.
Kelly, great job breaking down this or any song! A great lesson.
Also, there’s a good deal of “Not Fade Away” I hear in NYG.
Never noticed before.
This is awesome! Thanks so much!
Thank you Was a big Kiss fan back in the day.

Great video again Kelly. Russ also wrote "I Surrender" covered by Rainbow in 1981 I believe.
ace made us all wanna play lead guitar! Shock Me solo did it to me!
Great lesson, Kelly. Maybe one day you could get around to Reelin' in the Years by Steely Dan?
Take care.👍
Great tutorial Kelly..I love the song and am a great fan of Russ Ballard for a long time! Think the beat on this one is linked to Bo Diddley?
Buen tutorial Kelly, hermoso sonido, saludos y like
The original (?) version from the band Hello was one of my favorites in 1975
Exactly. Russ Ballard wrote it, but I don't think he recorded it himself. Pretty sure Hello was the first recording of this track.

you and have the exact same music taste....its my fav Kiss song too...lets be best friends!
The only Kiss related album I wanted.
Son of a Gun, ya did it against Kelly. Good one.
Thanks
Request - can you please do "Rocket Ride" from Alive II? A far better and more challenging song by Ace. Thanks!
Hope the guy gets royalties for writing the songs.
Russ Ballard still got paid for all of the songs that others got famous for playing so that's not too shabby!
Can you play of stryper free a tutorial please excellent your channel congratulations
such Bo diddley-ness!
I hear Bo Diddly
Not so sad if you think of the residuales he has .
recieved. Cryin all the way to the bank lol.
True I suppose, haha.

There’s only one flat in the key of F major…B flat, please. C’mon Kelly, you’re better than that.
