This is a Skallywag MDv 1 imitation, except with a double edge which takes away my ability to rotate the knife 90 degrees and slip my thumb from the jimping and grab that little "shelf" the MDv 1 has which allows me to bear down with more force on those cuts. Also, the hook design isn't ergonomically designed to make this useful as a three finger pistol support hand knife like the MDV 1 is.
Awesome review! The knife definitely gets a lot of things right and a lot of criticism will come down to personal preferences and priorities. One thing I would modify would be to add some grip/thickness to the handle to keep it from rotating in your hand.
I don't want a bottle opener in my hand grip. Serrations are contra effective. Curve on handle is extended to far. Handle shank seems very small and thin. Edit: However it does look like a robust well built knife.
Awesome knife, but I'll stick with my 5.25 inch blade modified tanto. Carry it apendix in jeans, and it's invisible. As far as I know, apendix is the best position for quick drawing in a clench. So I can control my attacker's weapon, and draw mine once I create a fraction of a second to do so. Then I have over 5 inches of pointy razor to carve him up.
That’s definitely a cool knife. If you check out my “How to Carry a Fixed Blade Knife Horizontally” video I go over using a similar pocket hook sheath to carry horizontal on the belt line. Thanks for the comment!
The way the knife and sheath are designed definitely lends itself to a point down grip. If you wanted to draw the blade point up (coming out the top of your hand) you could use the horizontal belt carry method and cross draw using your pinky in the hook rather than your pointer finger.
Yeah I couldn’t find a use for it and seems like a weak point or at least a hot spot on some peoples hands. I’m not sure about the sheath, this is not my knife or design.
A good knife fight fantasy blade that costs way too much. Too many better choices out there for what this costs. Another gimmicky blade from a so-called expert.
When someone lies it wastes how many peoples time and energy until it's cleared? It could go on for years and years and years??? We need a way to punish liars more severely than rewarding them...

Thank you! Yes I agree. Luckily a modification like that can be done easy and cheap with something like hockey tape
$300 for a knife in this economy is ridiculous
Is it the steel?
@Elite Knowledge no, no steel is that special. This knofe is a gimmick period
Nice review. I own the Non-coated and the Neptx coated version. They are Great knives only downfall is the bottle opener
I agree. I don’t see any positives of that feature, only negatives
@6:03 I"m waring my CRKT minimalist on my belt right now. It's great and sneaky.

Yeah if the handle was a little wider I think it would stay oriented a little better in the hand

💪🏼🗡
Price is out of line... for a mass produced, machined tool. I am a metalsmith... and can easily make this as a "one off" for that kind of money.
The mdv from skallywag looks a lil similar but the sheath has a hook that provides an interesting carry option. You should check it out

It’s very similar to the MDV plus one from skallywag tactical.
Yeah it is. I like the blade shape on the MDV better just wish it was set up for reverse grip.
Yeah, but don't buy from Skallywag they have a horrible track record.
@@Barbrady007 well I got my MDV from them and some pretty badass kitchen knives. No complaints here.
@@thedefenselab I agree with this 100%. PIKAL style reverse grip, edge inside is my preference.
@@Barbrady007 I haven't read anything negative about them. Can you explain...for others can learn from it?
For a more cost effective solution try the boker plus accomplice, the ring is useful and big enough not to cause an issue.
Apendix carry is great while seated in the car or a chair.
So Dynamis Alliance ripped off Skallywag MDV plus 1?
Did they? I’m not aware if they did or did not. I have no affiliation with either company, just giving my review 👍🏻
What you doin attackin bob like that, what did he ever do to you?
Exactly... it's very different down range.
Interesting little Blade.
nice video buddy
Thank you for the encouragement!
$300 1oz peice of steel.. Absolutely reduculous
Noce
Where can i buy this blade?
Crusheverything.com
May I give you some critical analysis?
Sure
Could you try drawing weapon any other way other than your preference? Can the knife be draw and have not the reverse grip?

@@thedefenselab I'd have liked to have seen that
Bottle opener = DUMB. Why a blue sheath ?
Yeah I couldn’t find a use for it and seems like a weak point or at least a hot spot on some peoples hands. I’m not sure about the sheath, this is not my knife or design.
@@thedefenselab i found your video as one came up for sale in Australia, too dear for $450.00Au
Too expensive for a not so good looking knife.
Those who choose fashion over function deserve and will get neither.

There's a $30 clone on amazon, D2 steel, it's fantastic. wtf $300? give me a break.
I agree it’s very expensive. What’s the Amazon clone called, id be interested in testing it out
HG Mills: Where? I looked for 30 minutes. WTF are you talking about?
