“After all these years. Finally, I’ve lost them all.” -Alycia after finishing Gravity Falls, Owl House, and Amphibia Edit: I’ve only now just realized the lights in her room are blue, pink, and green. That couldn’t be more fitting for this series.
There's a post-series Marcy's Journal that takes place after the time-jump that hints to the girls possibly being able to return to Amphibia. Remember Terri, the blue-haired scientist who helped them get back, Marcy writes in her journal that they were contacted by her, saying something about a breakthrough and a surprise, implying that she and her team may have created a portal back to Amphibia.
Oh yeah, the main thing running through my head during the ending was "There is zero chance that portal tech doesn't get finished at some point." I didn't realize the Journal acknowledged that as well, though, that's pretty cool.
6:07 Fun fact: Matt Braly, the shows creator, has flirted with the idea of continuing Amphibia. Nothing is confirmed yet, but he’s talked about a possible continuation in the manner that Adventure Time has done. He’s said it really depends on how well the shows books do sales wise, and if there’s any interest from the network. Like I said, nothing is confirmed, but he and the crew have talked about ideas. While I’d love to see more Amphibia, this finale was amazing and a satisfying conclusion.
This is my favorite finale to any show that I have ever watched. Anne having to say goodbye to this world that she learned to love and to the people she calls family will never not break my heart.
I ugly cried SO hard when I watched this originally. Anne and Sprig's goodbye still gets me. This is my favorite animated series thanks in no small part to how it stuck the landing so well. Thanks for this reaction series, it was a joy to watch you go through it!
One other small thing I LOVE in the flash forward is that Sasha reads Marcy's webcomic presumably without being pressured to, on her own volition, after seeing how they ignored all the stuff she was into before the show and that just 😭😭😭
Well, based on what the Guardian said of how it created a "backup" for Anne has led to fan speculation that it created a new body for her and placed her soul in it versus (I guess) Anne 2.0 being a type of "clone" (hence Anne's comment of upcoming existential dread of whether she's the original/real Anne or not). But based on how the Guardian said that it would see her again in 78 years, this seems to imply that Anne 2.0 is the original Anne in a new body.
@@ViewerOnline101 I didn't get that from it at all. If that's what they wanted to imply, the Guardian would've said, that they made a copy of her body or "transferred your personality to a new body" (I can see why Disney would avoid the religious implications of using the word "soul") but instead they specifically said "I made a copy of you just before you expired, a back-up if you will". A back-up copy is a very specific thing: an exact copy of a specific object or set of data containing all parts of the original from the moment of the copy's creation but being wholy seperate from it. This seems to indicate that Anne Savisa Boonchuy died and was replaced with a copy (one that fully suited the Guardian's purpose - the whole being-a-unique-person-thing probably not mattering much to them) This is also underlined by the fact, that copy-Anne is more like a mirror image of Anne (she wears her one shoe on the other foot) So yeah, fan head canons aside, the text very clearly tells us, that Anne is dead
@@Jaysil2 Well, the guardian doesn't seem to "know as much" as it claims, considering it didn't even grasp Ann could continue growing. The guardian also says for all intents and purposes, you are the same person. Not to mention the way it implies it will see Ann after her natural death, it absolutely seems to imply it is indeed the same Ann in a new body, as it will have to create yet another body.
If I had a nickel for everytime a Disney Isekai protagonist died in the finale and met god while at some point getting awesome anime powers I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. The end to one of the best Disney shows I still miss it.
I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of that trope, especially if they return like 5 minutes later, it feels like the sacrifice is somewhat diminished if the stakes don't actually matter. Gravity Falls with Stan's mind, Owl House with Luz and this with Anne, and the biggest contender, Star Vs. Amphibia at least gets it partly right by having the girls go back to earth forever, it feels like there's still pretty big stakes at play. I get that it's a "kid's show" but if the writers are bold enough to include concepts like death, then they must assume kids watching are mature enough to understand the weight of it.
@@ADean415 Many people will probably not agree with you, but I do. I believe it's done that way because it's still Disney, so they'll only allow very dark content as long as the main characters don't die for real. But you're right. It's an annoying trope that has to be gone already. Children should know that every action has consecuences and that death is actually permanent. But it seems that Disney will never have the galls to do a permanent death... that isn't a parent or a villain for a change.
Charlyne Yi! I love when VA's crossover between shows like this. What blows my mind is that Charlyne voices Chloe, who's mom is voiced by Niki Yang, who also voices BMO in Adventure Time, Candy Chiu in Gravity Falls, and Min-Gi's mom in Infinity Train.
Who here would've expected the funny frog show to have such an emotional and action-packed ending when they first started watching it? It was such a treat, filled with crazy turns... So happy to have watched it with you once again. Now, I'm going to rewatch your reactions!
I would say Alicia has completed the Disney Trinity of Gravity Falls, The Owl House, and Amphibia, but not only has the Book of Bill been selling more and more each day (enough to incentivize more Gravity Falls content?), but Matt Braly did confirm recently that there are some more Amphibia stories he would like to tell, but only if the show gets more attention! Can we make it happen?!
"Warriors of Amphibia, arise!" Goddamn, my heart was pounding during the battle scene, especially with Anne's song"No Big Deal"motif playing. And Andrais finally standing up to his father/the Core. 2:35, only Marcy would trip in space, it IS true. Remember, Anne predicted it while sedated:"Domino is NOT just a cat! She is the ALPHA AND OMEGA! An INTERDIMENSIONAL BEING beyond all space and time!" Lol, Anne cuddling the Domino being and it pushing her face away: "Hey hey! None of that!" (BTW, the voice of Ruby was the perfect voice for the being). 5:38, XD! I was destroyed at the ending too. It was very bittersweet, but the perfect way to end the series. Know it's unlikely, but maybe try "Hazbin Hotel"and "Helluva Boss"next!
i love reactions but for real alycia, this was my favorite reaction series ever. you were so genuine and excited and it really felt like watching the show again for the first time. thank you! 🙏🫶
This was an incredible journey! Thank you so much for taking it with us. This finale brings back memories and tears for sure. I'm excited to see where we go next, Solar Opposites and Arcane surely, but of course the next NEW SHOW coming! I'm excited for everything coming up.
Well... here is the end. Looking back, It still seems so strange that this comedic show about some colorful talking frogs and a scruffy girl resonated so well with me and i'm glad that it resonated with others as well. It's quite symbolic that while the previous episode was all about what the girls (and amphibians) are capable of, this episode is about what they can't do. They can't stop the moon (without the secret spell), they can't save Anne an they can't return to Earth and stay in contact with their adopted families at the same time. Indeed, "You can't hold on to something forever"... And it's so nice to see that Alycia summed up the final message about the girls so perfectly - some bonds cannot be broken, no matter how much time has passed. In the end i just want to thank Alycia for all her reactions to this wonderful series.
Litterally 1 of only 3 stories in history that made me cry but I still loved it! Espescially since for some weird reason permanent goodbyes like this hit me harder than character deaths. Regardless they turned that sad ending from something depreassing into something inspirational! I was having a hard time excepting something hard in life at the time but this really helpped put things into perspective. Sometimes learning to accept the hard things is how you grow! Thank you for keeping the fandom going especially the creators have said that if the books and merchandise continues to sell well they are considering bringing Amphibia back. Some say that bringing it back could ruining the message of this finale but I don't think so. Not only are there multiple ways that they could go about a Spring series or series with new humans only runiting with the originals at the end. But I don't think a reunion would ruin the message at all. Litterally the last thing said in the series is that its important to learn to accept change and move on and if you do "you'll be suprised what comes back to you!" Even without Anne's power the scientists were able to open a small portal to Amphibia so 10 years of technology progress latter......to be continued....
i adore this finale so much, and i like how you analyzed it at the end!! i don’t know if you have plans for further reactions but i think She-ra and the Princesses of Power or especially Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts could be up your alley :)
Even though I've watched the goodbye so many times, I still tear up. :') And congrats on finishing Amphibia!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. If you want more content, there's a book called Marcy's Journal that gives some more information on what Marcy's been up to in Amphibia!! I definitely recommend it.
These reactions are proof of why there's no such thing as "filler". Amphibia got a lot of criticism for its semi-episodic nature, but I'd argue these last few episodes wouldn't have been nearly as rewarding to watch without them.
The finale was awesome and emotional. Anne defeating the Core was epic. The trios are like the Powerpuff Girls. I enjoyed watching your Amphibia reactions 🐸🐸🐸🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
The letter Leif wrote to Andrias tells me that they were more than just friends I think they loved each other Andrias blushes and looked away during Leifs dance, the secret messages to each other, Andrias the frist to rush to Leif after she fell to her hands and knees after the vission, the worried look on his face, Leif crying into Andrias, Andrias the one that took her betrayl the hardest and his blushing tears in his eyes and scraming her name when she left, and Leif dubbing her self as "your Leif" and her calling him my derest Andrias and saying I wish my love will reach you. Also in the painting Andrias and Leif are looking at eachother and there is a art that Matt Braly did Andrias Berral and Leif are back together and they are on his sholders and Andrias and Leif are looking at eachother. There was and still is something more than just friendship between Andrias and Leif.
We never got to see much of them, but you're right. There were several clues that they were more than, or at least in the process of being more than friends. And if that was the case, it would explain even more Aldrich's urgency to keep Andrias away from his friends.
It is like you said, this is a show that rewards those who watch from the very beginning. Everything comes together. Fake deaths happen a lot in media, but Anne died for real. Her soul and spirit are the same, but biologically speaking, that's an entirely new body. A clone from the other, but different anyway. That was bold 😮 Still, it doesn't compare to when everyone said their goodbye, especially Sprig and Anne. Every character had their part and character development, but it was their relationship that was the backbone of the show. Not only did you cry, your face turned red. Definitely one of the best finales ever. Going to miss Amphibia and your reactions. An entire year! But Amphibia is worth it 😭
Ah yes, the finale that's been known to break even the most stone-faced of reaction youtubers. I remember after I watched this literally anything from Amphibia made me tear up.
Thank you so much for reacting to the series until the very end ❤💐. My experience of the show was made much more enjoyable with you in it. ❤❤❤Going to miss this so much but very much gonna play Yr playlist when I need it ❤☺️💐
It has finally happened, we reached the end... What an amazing yet bittersweet finale... What a beautiful yet heartbreaking goodbye... Personally, one of the best shows to ever exist in television, and THE best finale to ever exist
Two years i can't believe it's been Two years sense the show ended it's feels Like Nine months Time really is a funny Thing one second you Watch a Show and a minute later it's over
I commented this in a previous post but in case you didn’t see it Here’s what I highly recommend: 1. She-Ra and the princesses of power 2. Hazbin Hotel 3. Helluva Boss 4. The Dragon Prince 5. Ducktales 6. Dead End: Paranormal Park 7. Hilda 8. Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts I totally understand needing a break. But I highly recommend checking these shows out there some of my favorites!
Many of them would be perfect. Sadly, at least with Hilda, she already watched it but didn't record the reaction. In Wally and Anne when they encounter the Moss Man, Alycia did say it reminded her of Hilda.
"Now that is a sequel I would want to see." - Alycia. That line reminded me so much of what Luz said in Watching and Dreaming about hearing of Eda and Liliths' Gruby Days, " Really? Now that's a spinoff I'd watch." and I couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that notion. The fight scene with all three of these kids and the powerups was awesome and well-animated! After that though, the moment between Sprig and Anne in space tugged at the heartstrings. However, the final goodbye between Anne and each of the Plantars (especially Sprig) was hard to watch and did its job impact-wise and in producing plenty of tears. I agree with the point you made during the commentary at the end. How even if it was hard to watch, the lesson of things coming to an end, how it's ok and that life will still go forward. It's a hard lesson to learn, but seeing it be shown in a series like this was beautiful and amazing. Watching you go on another journey with seeing this show has been fantastic, beautiful, and very lovely! I've been watching content on your channel for a long time, since around the Gravity Falls era, and I've loved seeing every other show that you've taken on this one included. Thank you for watching Amphibia, and until next time have *Hoppy* Trails! 🐸💚💚💚
It's an amazing show. Goes to show what rewards you reap by sticking with a series, episode by episode. Even the ones that seem like filler actually establish the world or get deeper into the characters. So by the time we get to the big finale, we care. We understand the stakes and it matters to us! It's also doubly wistful because we imagine what Owl House season 3 could've been. I couldn't imagine one lousy episode in the human world before the battle against the Core.
One of the best finales to a show ever. I still think Weirdmageddon takes the cake for the best Disney finale, but in terms of emotional impact, I think this one is even higher than that. Those two finales are the only ones to ever make me sob. Cheers to Amphibia!
As far as a permanent goodbye, I don't think so. Earth science had portal tech, but just not the power needed. Also, it is hinted that the Owl House is in the same universe and Gravity Falls may be as well. So Amphibia may be accessible by Boiling isles magic or the cypher portal.
I just wish there is a theory that Marcy doesn't have to move to Hopkinton at all. Her friends need her to stay after the doctors and therapists healed the scar on her chest that Andrias stabbed her with his sword. She needs real help, and I was dreaming and thinking about an animated spin-off series focusing on Marcy.
It's a long one, but if you're looking for another show to fill this space, Adventure Time is an amazing one. It's a bit more goofy at times, but it's another one of those shows that's a lot deeper than it looks, and eventually builds up an incredibly memorable world and cast of characters.
Hope you read the book they made. It was the first book I've read in probably over 20 years. It was an amazing read if you're a fan. Would love video about it if you do. Thanks for your great reactions. Cheers
I liked everything about this finale except the part where Anne becomes a copy or a clone or whatever. That was so extremely unnecessary and confusing. They could have just said she was being given a second chance at life as a reward for her selfless deed. That's as complicated as that part needed to be.
Now that you've watched the Disney Channel Big 3 (Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House) which was is your personal favourite? My personal favourite is The Owl House.
I realize this is an unpopular opinion, and I'll likely get burned at the stake, but I hated the finale. Really just the last few minutes. It just felt like, "What was actually the point?" The girls fought through everything they went through (being lost in another dimension, countless dangers, the epic final battle, etc.) only to be rewarded with: Never returning to Amphibia and losing those relationships, Marcy leaving pretty much as soon as they got back, Anne and Sasha barely speaking in high school and the three of them meeting again a decade later as not much more than acquaintances who were once friends. I'm the first to concede I'm a big softie who loves a happy ending but this felt like a kick to the chest. It actually left me feeling depressed for Anne. All that said, it's not like I stopped liking the show. The vast majority of it was a blast. I just wish they had stopped with Anne walking through the portal back to Earth. Let us decided if that was it, if our three teenage heroes remained besties or if both worlds found a way back to each other.
This is a terrible finale, i still don't like it and you guys can't change my mind !!!!! I like the sonic adventure 2 inspired anime fight but everything after that is pretty mid. They should've showed us the girls coming back to amphibia after the timeskip, kinda like monsters inc, sonic x or owl house, but nope ! Also sashannearcy isn't canon from what i can tell, which is really frustrating !
They have literally never hinted at anything romantic beetwen the girls, and the message of the show is quite literally letting go, even if it's hard. It seems you hate it because you missed/misunderstood the core message. If you want a Stars vs type finale, go watch Cleaved.
@@brodypl5804Yeah well, so what ?! I ship them ! and I know lots of other people do and i'm mad it's not canon ! That's a reasonable thing to feel. Also, maybe I don't wanna let things go ! Have you ever thought of that ? I don't like the message ok ?! It's very mid. Also, no. The star finale was even worse somehow.
“After all these years. Finally, I’ve lost them all.”

The fact the original Anne actually died… my god. Like Luz’s death was still tearjerking, but Anne’s, to an extent, was permanent…

Love that Super Ann still had twigs in her hair
ive seen the finale of amphibia 5 times now and even though I know what coming I always find myself crying in the end.
Seeing Anne, Sasha, and Marcy with those powers reminded me way too much of the PowerPuff Girls. They even have the same colors as them too. 😄
The whole episodes broke me and then the credits came and they broke me even more
The slower version of the og end credit tune (Anne's theme) 😭😭😭

That was bold 😮
Still, it doesn't compare to when everyone said their goodbye, especially Sprig and Anne. Every character had their part and character development, but it was their relationship that was the backbone of the show. Not only did you cry, your face turned red. Definitely one of the best finales ever. Going to miss Amphibia and your reactions. An entire year! But Amphibia is worth it 😭
Love this cartoon. Absolute cinema
The fact that Anne is fated to become God when she dies is still so crazy.
lots of cool easter egg payoffs but one of them i love is that there is a picture of the floating island in her LA bedroom
Ah yes, the finale that's been known to break even the most stone-faced of reaction youtubers. I remember after I watched this literally anything from Amphibia made me tear up.
Great reaction!
What a finale, loved it!
Happy and sad to finally be here, it was almost like watching it for the first time again. Thanks for reacting to this, it was a fun one.
I thought people were crazy when they praised Owl house over this show. This is peak cartoon.
How excited are we for Solar opposites season 5 in two days?
Here we are. Nothing to say but I'm glad you took this journey. Let's see what you think. Here we go! :)
I feel like saying that the marcy journal exists and is fantastic, highly recommend
Season 2 is missing 2 episodes on your Amphibia Playlist btw. Glad you enjoyed the show.
Two years i can't believe it's been Two years sense the show ended it's feels Like Nine months Time really is a funny Thing one second you Watch a Show and a minute later it's over
I commented this in a previous post but in case you didn’t see it Here’s what I highly recommend:
1. She-Ra and the princesses of power
2. Hazbin Hotel
3. Helluva Boss
4. The Dragon Prince
5. Ducktales
6. Dead End: Paranormal Park
7. Hilda
8. Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts
I totally understand needing a break. But I highly recommend checking these shows out there some of my favorites!
Many of them would be perfect. Sadly, at least with Hilda, she already watched it but didn't record the reaction. In Wally and Anne when they encounter the Moss Man, Alycia did say it reminded her of Hilda.
so... what emotionally-devastating show is next?
Carol and The End of the World?
EMOTIONAL DEVASTATION!!!
The final episode is begun
One of the best finales to a show ever. I still think Weirdmageddon takes the cake for the best Disney finale, but in terms of emotional impact, I think this one is even higher than that. Those two finales are the only ones to ever make me sob. Cheers to Amphibia!
As far as a permanent goodbye, I don't think so. Earth science had portal tech, but just not the power needed. Also, it is hinted that the Owl House is in the same universe and Gravity Falls may be as well. So Amphibia may be accessible by Boiling isles magic or the cypher portal.
Whatever new cartoon you decide ti watch next, I’ll be right here with ya, Alycia. I recommend Molly McGee or DuckTales.
4:40 - Did you notice that this image is hanging up in Anne's bedroom? Go back a few episodes, there it is.
I just wish there is a theory that Marcy doesn't have to move to Hopkinton at all. Her friends need her to stay after the doctors and therapists healed the scar on her chest that Andrias stabbed her with his sword. She needs real help, and I was dreaming and thinking about an animated spin-off series focusing on Marcy.
you should get marcy's journal
You should Sonic Prime or TMNT 2012 next but if you staying with the Disney shows then Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure over DuckTales 2017
It's a long one, but if you're looking for another show to fill this space, Adventure Time is an amazing one. It's a bit more goofy at times, but it's another one of those shows that's a lot deeper than it looks, and eventually builds up an incredibly memorable world and cast of characters.
Such an amazing episode
NO IT'S OVER NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
what a great series
Crying screaming laughing sobbing
Oh no my heart
Anne’s dead!
…But it’s *NO BIG DEAL!*
I love this show 😭😭😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
TIME TO CRY
Hope you read the book they made. It was the first book I've read in probably over 20 years. It was an amazing read if you're a fan. Would love video about it if you do. Thanks for your great reactions. Cheers
This is my favourite show, of all time, you gotta pick up Marcy's Journal, you'll love it.
the crying is normal
New solar opposites are you going to react ?
3:40😢😢😢
4:20😭😭😭😭😭
7:53😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
8:19-8:52😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
10:53-11:18😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Is it intentional that your lamp in the background uses the girls' colors or just a nice coincidence?
Spranne against the world.
I liked everything about this finale except the part where Anne becomes a copy or a clone or whatever. That was so extremely unnecessary and confusing. They could have just said she was being given a second chance at life as a reward for her selfless deed. That's as complicated as that part needed to be.
When will you react to Solar Opposites season 5?
Now that you've watched the Disney Channel Big 3 (Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House) which was is your personal favourite? My personal favourite is The Owl House.
PLEASE DO A GHOST AND MOLLY MCGEE REACTION!!!!!!!
Would you ever react to Total Drama Island?
do a Ghost and Molly McGee Reaction
😢😢😢
This is a terrible finale, i still don't like it and you guys can't change my mind !!!!!
I like the sonic adventure 2 inspired anime fight but everything after that is pretty mid.
They should've showed us the girls coming back to amphibia after the timeskip, kinda like monsters inc, sonic x or owl house, but nope !
Also sashannearcy isn't canon from what i can tell, which is really frustrating !
True colors was a better season finale imo
@@FO0TMinecraftPVP that's true but Sasha was still a jerk and Marcy fuckin died so it still doesn't work.
Amphibia is not a place you're meant to stay at forever. It was a place to facilitate the girls' growth but it was temporary, like childhood
Gravity falls and Amphibia are the Best shows from Disney channel
The calamity vs the core is a epic Battle, the moon core remenber me Zelda majora mask
