Same here. The new bikes just don’t have that “look”, plus I’m not into the everything’s electronic on them. I bought an XR650L because it reminded me of my old XR250 I had when I was a teenager, and also ride a ‘97 KTM300EXC for dirt only duties. Both have that “look” and feel, and I love em.
I have this exact bike! Same year, color, etc. I've owned it for 20 years now. It's been absolutely fantastic. Only thing I've had to do to it is change out wear parts, and the oil of course.
i ride a 93 xt350 your videos inspired me to fix its problems versus letting it die. old bikes have soul and i love the simplicity (minus the carb) of the machine.
Awesome seeing old iron running well! I picked up a Honda 1986 XL600R that sat covered for 30 years. Has less than 2000 miles, its near perfect and runs well after clean up. Cool Stuff!!
That is one Clean and Sweet Suzuki DR 350. I almost bought a DRZ 400 years ago. I always loved them and loved Suzukis. Yamaha and Suzuki were the only 2 stroke MX Dirtbikes that I ever owned. ML&R.
Thanks for the video, that Suzuki brings back a lot of good memories. Hanging out and having a blast riding dirtbikes down at the pitt, and under the Betsy Ross bridge. That is until the police came, then it was run, run, run!😁
Bought a $400 350 swapped DR250S project a few years ago. It now has a 350ES, +KS, all dirt options (except retained the cush drive), RM250 fork, and a WR headlight & fairing & fender. I like the classic look, but my bike was a project and missing a ton of stuff. Trail Tech dash. It looks pretty fresh. Had the engine out and cleaned up the plastics, painted the engine and tank. The DR guys all think of them like tractors because of the low end torque. Good street and trail bike, reminds me a little of the Honda CRF300L, but antique.
Always wanted a dr Suzuki never got one, they seem like a good all around bike, grew up on two wheels in the woods but never had a street legal dirt bike
Amazing! 1994 dr350 Suzuki I had one same year same color but mine was not automatic. Be grateful you have the automatic one. I had an extra clutch for high compression kick pulling the clutch kick it 10 times. Clutch would pop out and one big Swift kick to get it running. Much easier to start with electric start. Amazing machine I used to ride it back and forth to work an amazing machine sir. You just brought back a lot of memories. This is why I watch you mind-blowing. Amazing video! Ken Kaplan awesome Ronnie
i have one that's about the same condition with just a little over 5k on it, its been kept in a shed out of the weather so most of the plastic are mint. the black plastic on the turn signals is a little sun faded but it's not depreciating the bike any to my standards. my dad had installed a 5 gallon baja tank and then stopped riding because gas prices were okay to start driving his truck and my moms suburban to work and his right knee had torn ligaments so he had hard time kick starting it since ours doesn't have the luxury of electric start. all it needs is fuel lines hooked up, a new air filter, front boots replaced which i have i just haven't installed them, tires, and new chain. honestly the most kickass bike i've ridden aside from my dads atc 350x
Perfect for that and backroads, my buddy has a gorgeous 87’ XL 600R , he said he’d let me have it for $1k I wish I had the loot. Red white and blue it’s nice.
@@deborahchesser7375 you'd love that XL. Those are great bikes. There's a few of them in my area that I see running around. Get a personal loan and grab it. Pay the loan off as quickly as possible while riding the Honda
All these bikes that I remember being the latest thing when I was a lad, now mementos from a far better time - and makes me feel so old (I'm only 56). 😳
I bought one of these brand new in 93 when I was 17. I remember I thought it was kinda slow first ride til you hit about 6500 then it just completely turned into a different animal and the tac went to around 11 or 12 don't remember exactly but it was way higher than I was use to and it saw dirt just as much as road. 1 of many I regret selling for no other reason than I got bored with stuff quick when I was younger. I don't remember mine having electric start. Just kick with compression lever(which you definitely needed)😂

Got a buddy who's dad has the yellow version it's clean but not that clean! Guy won't part with it I've been trying for over a decade. They are awesome bikes!
i bought 1992 DR 250 back in 1996 with only 200 miles on it, great bike, very comfortable but man it was hard to start, it didn’t have electric start, someone else told me they had the same issue with theirs. Was this common before they had the magic start button?
I’ll call in on Monday but is this still available and what is the asking price? I have a 99 model that I absolutely love and I’m looking for another for my brother.
This is off topic Capt America but as an Australian we want to visit your museum whilst we are on holiday in The United States ,my wife wants to do Las Vegas Los Angeles etc etc but YOU know where im headed and my question is ,what is the best time of year to spend some time as a tourist in your beautiful town ,i dont fancy road tripping right across America to visit as most of our time will be the other side ,travel agencies dont seem to have alot of brochures over here in regards to accomadation and such of your surrounding towns ,whats the best time to come over and say Gday?oh love the DR350 its no XR but its still ultra cool and reliable
Best time is anytime between Memorial Day May 30th and then Labor Day if you can time it so that it's around The Americade rally for the Laconia rally or the Southwick National or the Unadilla National that's the time there's a lot going on around here in New England
I've been looking at the DR 650 models, but I found a '94 DR 350 near me, and I'm wondering if I should get it. It looks pretty decent except it has a different odometer from like a sm 250 model thats square looking instead of the dual round gauges, should I jump on it or Pass?
You could always swap the gauge cluster out. If it were me, I would get it if you can save a lot of money. Because no matter which one you get, your going to want to put money into it, trust me. Why aren’t you bidding on this one?
The one that I'm looking at is right near me for $1400, I just wish that I had an idea about the true mileage. I'm glad I saw this video, it gave me a lot more encouragement knowing it has more power than I thought. If I had the cash, I would grab this one no problem, Kaplan America always does a great job of explaining all of his bikes and what they can do 👍
@@CJ7fun-zv2hsThat is a very good price for a street legal on/off road. I would ride it and see how it goes. Probably worth double what you are paying for it. 350cc is really the sweet spot instead of the Dr600/650. These street legal bikes stock run pretty lean. = modify or update the carb for much more power.
Normally he rides to one side, and then to other side, stops and talks about the ride. This time he had no intention to stop and talk about the ride, he just wanted to ride.
Being the auction is at $3,800 and the buy it now is $4,600. -You should probably just buy it now if your really want it. 350cc is an excellent size and everything is cleaned and sorted out by Kaplan. -These 250/350 Suzuki DRs were very popular and most were ridden very hard off road etc. Having said that a new Dr400 isn't that far off either.
I'm a little surprised to hear that parts are hard to find, since Suzuki made and sold so many of these, including to a lot of police departments across the U.S.. I would've thought Suzuki would've made sure to manufacture an abundance of parts for them.
You said it will do 65 mph the Dr 350 I have a 1996 Honda Xr250l that will Do 75 mph ++ all day long I have had it up to 85 mph still had more to go and my weight is 250 lol

Wow. Clean. I had a 95 back in 95. Rode it from NJ to NH motor speedway on dirt knobs. My ass was sore for a week.

The blue looks great!
Things Mint . Loved my 92, non electric start though. Was a wicked first bike. That's a specimen love to see it
