Thank you so very much for the gracious and thoughtful telling of the tale of our Lady of Puy--complete with beautiful photos and musical accompaniment. In scanning your words, it occurred to me that John Michell reports in his Guide to Sacred England that many of the great cathedrals are built on ancient sites. I was pleased to read that the pagan dolmen had been originally incorporated, but then deeply saddened to learn that it was eventually removed and broken to pieces.Do you happen to know more about the earlier people who lived nearby and looked up to the mount, and what might have taken place on the mount itself when it was first celebrated as sacred by these pagans?
