Absolutely, there are peer pressures , it might sound odd. But the country where i am from , here the attitude or at least the perception of safety gear is very different from what might be the other countries. So when i am riding my little 110cc scooter in a kitted out riding jacket , ls2 helmet and semi gauntlet gloves , i get these very odd stares and judgemental looks as if im being too serious for a little scooter . Also liked the topic a lot. Not challenging anyone to a race is the best way to stay safe. Side note - Finally booked the scrambler 400x and the long and agonizing wait has started for the delivery. Cheers mate ! Hope your channel blows up , its clear and quality content after all
Thank you for the nice words!!! And dude, I tell people to think about it like this.... "Imagine running full speed and then diving on the the floor". Or "run into that wall as fast as you can, face first." The adverage person can sprint around 10kph. And no one is willing to do what I just said at that speed. So imagine hitting the deck at 50, 60, 120kph. And WITHOUT gear... I think wearing gear on your scooter is more than justified, my friend! And congrats on the scrambler. I'm yet to ride one myself. But some day, I will find one to ride for sure!!!!! Ride safe 🖤
I agree with the first one. I recently got an S1000RR and from the cbr600rr and I told one of my mates who is on a zx6r that he should not feel pressure to upgrade as our riding experience is totally different and I had my reasons for getting the S1000RR. Regarding the racing, I try by all means to stay away from racing people in their cars on public roads, always remember that they have 4 wheels and you only have 2, so their braking is much better than yours. Lastly, the peer pressure to squid it is real and I always tell guys that its you'll be alone when you hit the tar with no gear on.
We need more friends like you, man! The amount of times I meet someone who rides a "smaller" bike and they instantly go into how they'll get a bigger bike soon. Strange how so many people feel the need to be ashamed because they don't have 200hp on tap lol! And you're spot on... it'll be you by yourself if pain in the hospital if you are lucky enough to survive! 🤕
🖤🖤🖤 You and everyone else are more than appropriated, let me tell you! Also, the fact you wrote this is also epic 😅. I guess I should screen shot this to look back on one day! Thanks a million 🪅🥳🎊
@@thethrottletube Then how about this. Currently I am on CBT on a 2012 CBF125 I bought for 1k. When you get to 100k reply to this and we can see what I am riding then.
@dunxle7983 Done deal!!! And as someone who visits the motherland (uk) every so often. Maybe we can get a ride in when I visit once you pass! I'm over in London in 3 weeks for the month. I'm not looking forward to going from the heat of New Zeland, to the ice cold over there. Let alone the 28 hour flight there and back 🥲🛩!
Not too long ago I started riding after I owned one of those chinese electric chopper scooters. Now I own a older 1100cc metric cruiser and a 650cc ex-soviet sidecar rig. In the meantime I got to ride a BMW touring bike, a Triumph Rocket, a crotch rocket I cant remember the name and specs of and a 350cc Royal Enfield. All fun af but after thinking for years that a big displacement chopper is where its at I now realized that you gotta mix and match to find what your preference is. Like you said don't try to show off, try to ride for you and yourself only. Given that this hobby is already expensive enough you gotta realize you do it for yourself. I'm now riding the small displacement sidecar rig more than I do with the metric cruiser. Because it hilarious to drive, really demanding in riding-skill, gets ppl to laugh and talk and because I can do my weekly grocery shopping. I can connect taking my mind off the usual things with the useful chores and still be cheaper than a car when wrenchinng on it myself (which is easy enough to do). Thinking about selling the bigger displacement cruiser now anyway to buy a smaller displacement vintage bike for commuting since the short distance riding is deadly for those older big displacement carburated bikes and vintage bikes are fun as hell to drive and wrench on. So yeah, overcoming the need for having "what ppl think you need" is the real freedom...like the thing bikers always tell about.
Very true. What good is getting a bike for "freedom", only to feel like a prisoner of displacement disappointment! Also, that is epic that you have a sidecar rig. I'd love to take the gf out in one of those 😅. And as you said, you can put groceries in the side car part... thinking smarter, not harder ;)!

Peace bro! Nice Video. I do understand sometimes we are forced by our lil brains to flaunt our big bike or car power 💥 to other fellow beings on the road. Such an unnecessary drama, yet we are taken away by the idea. 😅
@MohanSai26 deep down in our tiny brain, I think it's hard wired somewhere to show off in some ways 🫠. I STILL get caught off guard by my own actions sometimes... thankfully as I get older, I am caring less and less about showing off for sure 😉
as a 125cc 15hp rider I enjoy it very much, for my daily transportation, with low cost on everything. and when my little bike comes short in certain cases, I take a deep breath and go with it, as it only lasts few seconds. because at the end of the day, the short coming of a small bike are less than the benefits for the use I need it. I'm not going to go faster than 80km/h on the public road anyway. many had told me "get a bigger one get a bigger one" and my answer is always a flat NO LOL

@@thethrottletube safety first with full gear, and defensive driving. as I tend to say, 5 minutes wont make a difference, at least I return home for another day
I consider myself a new rider. I am 43, have been daily driving on all of 125cc for about a year and a bit, put roughly 13.000 km on my little bike. Quickest and cheapest way to get around. Bar none. Would a bigger bike be tremendous fun? Absolutely. But for my daily commute it’s plenty enough. I can’t go past 90 kph anywhere anyway, no matter if I am on my Kawasaki Z125 or a BMW 1250GS. And if I go on a little ride on the weekend, you just need to know what you can and cannot do with your 15hp machine. I am in no rush. Chances are you are not going to be any faster than me and we’ll meet again at the next traffic light. I don’t care if others try to race me. It is dumb. It is rare that I need to be places so quickly that I’d risk my license getting there, much less my life. And yet, some people go out of their way to show how „superior“ they or their vehicles are. It’s like bragging to your mates that you beat a toddler in an arm wrestling match.
That last sentence is golden 😅!!! But it's very true, realistically eveytime I ride my MT09 I accidentally break the law by speeding even if it is only a few km over 🥲. You just don't realise sometimes how fast you're going. And it's crazy how numb you get to acceleration and speed after a short period of time. It's temporary thrill for a lifetime of trying not to get into trouble 😉
I mean unless the road explodes infront of me or something jumps out at me, which you can usually see coming a mile away. There's definitely a time and a place to be more or less relaxed depending on the surroundings. But that's just my opinion. I am only human. I like to feel free. There's much worse out there.... like people doing 200+kph in traffic! Plus I couldn't fathom not being comfortable enough that I have to white knuckle ride the bike on super hight alert all the time. But I may actually do a genuine video on this. It'll be interesting to see people's points of view as we all have a right to an opinion. As I stated in the video, do what you want, anything I say is just my opinion. As is your comment. Thanks for looking out, and I wish you safe travels 🏍🤝!
You've never let go of your handlebars before? It's not that scary or wild depending on the situation. I mean if I was speeding along in busy traffic with a bunch of obstacles, then I'd get it. But hey, each to their own 😎. Sometimes it's nice to move around and feel free sometimes. But yeah I do and don't see the big deal, depending on how I feel and the situation. Bike are pretty stable man!
