The man playing Falpher is an absolute genius of comedy and improv and roleplay. He makes this whole game for me right now, the rest of the cast are great, and I can't wait to see the newer woman learn her place and start to learn more "on the spot" roleplay and not let the nerves get to her :)
Agreed with your whole statment.... Falpher is my favorite by far in fact right now. And yes I'd like to see Callie blossom into more free form role play as well.
RealmSmith I feel so bad now that I banned my table from watching. This is the first time I have ever seen a player comment. My group really is on their own path so you will give too much away for me to allow it for now.
I love the general vibe of the table. Everyone seems to be having so much fun. I think Mel is doing great representing the noobs on camera. Falfer is such lovable goofy character. I am going to be binging the heck out of this series this weekend.
You guys are killing it! Like many of you here I’m sure you all have your weekly allotment of D&D that you look forward to, this has very quickly become one of my favourites.
Awesome game, I haven't liked a D&D stream so much since CR. The production is amazing. Great DM, great players, and what a beautiful room! It's great to catch it almost at the beginning.
Omg that intro was amazing. Didn´t think about how close the caracters where to the actual players untill I saw them side by side. Amazing episode to ofcourse but where just blown away by the intro. Well done :)
Checked out Ep 1 about a week ago, and I gotta tell you it's bittersweet, because this is REALLY solid but I am allll about the bingewatching, and I caught wind of this so early. Gunna be fiending for episodes to be released. Good work y'all!
I've gotten into this show as well now. If you need to binge check out the dungeon run. This is only my second episode of these adventurers but I'm really enjoying it
YES!!!!! I was hoping you were going to do Death House!!!! Can't wait to watch the next episodes. (I'm about to send my kids through this module too.. can't wait!!!!)
Great live sessions!(love all the role playing accents) Ad one more thing I like about our friends for the Great White North. Rush,Triumph, and Now, this! Well done! The guy playing the Paladin(sounds like Orson Wells, and The other dude, playing the warforged sounds like Hal from 2001! DM also!
I think i'd swap the drift globe and plus 1 dagger on the rewards track, right? Seems like the ability to drop daylight on someone/something would be super useful in Barovia.
I think you are confusing daylight with sunlight, daylight is basically just bright light. Where sunlight like the sunburst spell will damage vampires the daylight spell has no effect on them. I also had that misconception until I was told sunlight and daylight are not the same. I did some reading and came to realize that also.
Unfortunately, Joel, you still need two hands to load a hand crossbow (and the bolts would just fall out each time you try to slide them over your shoulders). I'll let it go because your accent is awesome. Must be a big Diablo III fan...
As DnD is typically late medieval and Curse of Stradd (*spit) even later I imagine that repeating crossbows have a box mag feeding up - spanning the crossbow would push a bolt up - the rotation of the crossbow nut (the bit that holds the string in tension) could easily do this with some simple cams.
Maurice Walshe Oooh!!! That gives me an AWESOME idea to talk to Jason (DM) about. Perhaps he’ll let me work on my crossbows to upgrade them eventually if I level up and I could craft the cams and bolt-loading mechanism into them! (That would be SWEEEET!)
I don't think rolling deception and persuasion on other players is actually a thing, you should rp it and convince them for real either you're lying or not. IMO
@@pounds1212 It can be a problem if handled poorly... But I don't know that light, consensual PVP is inherently a problem. I don't know that taking choice away from the PC is inherently a problem - You can get downed in combat, or stunned, or held, or dominated, or killed, and all of those things take choices away from the PC. That's just normal everyday D&D. Persuasion I think is a problem because D&D doesn't really have a way for setting a DC for just... Persuading people. So, unless the players involved can agree on a DC (contested Insight doesn't really make sense to me), it's hard to know what a player needs to roll to persuade a character.
"I was coming back from PAX and was thinking of ideas. Unbeknownst to me, I had left my television on when I went to bed the night before and a Full Metal Alchemist marathon came on in the night."
Really enjoying the unique characters and everything but man, these guys are SHOOK by the Ravenloft setting lol You're supposed to be adventuring hero's!
Im loving your playthrough. A little constructive criticism if I may. Try not to have multiple people talking at the same time. I get that it happens, it does all the time at our table as well. It does not transfer over well through video though.. When it happens you can't understand anything being said. It's the sole reason I don't watch Critical Role, they are always talking over eachother. I love CoS, I like your group of gamers, and I'm excited to see how they handle Barovia! (or don't..muwahaha)
@@RealmSmith I am an experienced Role Playing Gamer. I started out playing D&D in the early 1980's. I have played Palladium role playing games, Robotech, Star Wars, a little bit of Battltech. I have had a D&D campaign with 5 other players. You cannot control the excitement of the game and the joking. It just means your all having fun. The Dungeon Master is handling this campaign very well. I personally like creating my own stories and adventures. Its not that hard, it just takes a lot of time to make your own story up. You guys use a lot of advance grammar and english. Very intelligent. I guess you can say that I like simplicity. I like to dumb my lingo down a bit so that everyone knows what I am talking about as Dungeon Master. I am not a very smart guy. I have only watched the first episode all the way through and I think the Into the Mist Curse of Strahd seems to scripted to me, not saying that it isn't entertaining, you have a great bunch of players. I would like to see a more diverse set of players, for example half female half male. I like the fact that you have a totally inexperienced player. I like the miniatures but when we were playing we had pencils, paper, books, graph paper and a good imagination. I like the way you describe the scene when I can understand the terms used in the book. You know I would still watch all your episodes if you didn't have the fancy production designed campaign? Don't get me wrong it is totally cool! I like watching other people play D&D. Even on the Series Stranger Things. Those kids were awesome!!! Reminds me exactly how we played D&D. I will do some more observing of you all's game playing and maybe I might come across something original. Keep up the good work!!
Shades of Alfonse Elrich in Stirling. Great choice for inspiration.

Thanks @Ashutosh Mohapatra!
First D&D stream I actually like, since Wizards stoped producing DCA.
Age the Mage Thanks so much for the HUGE compliment!
Hell yes. I fhad a definite emotional reaction to Sterling. Such a well-written character. Encapsulates part of the best reasons to play d&d.
You guys are killing it! Like many of you here I’m sure you all have your weekly allotment of D&D that you look forward to, this has very quickly become one of my favourites.

Amazing episode to ofcourse but where just blown away by the intro. Well done :)
Miluiel _92 Thanks so much! Our very own Jason did the illustrations and Joel produced the music and the video!
Sterling is amazing... He must be protected at all costs.
Ohhhh I really like the idea of adding modifiers of helping people to the roll instead of just using advantage, never heard about it before
Seems like a nice way to prevent untrained skill assistance from being more helpful than it should be.
We stole it from Deborah a Ann Woll 😊
16:15 episode starts
Sorry for the long intro! (Sheesh guys! Get to the point! 😂)
Everyone has to have a first experience. Good on ya Mel for sharing your's with us.
We think she's doing downright amazing for having to experience it on camera too. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll pass it along to Mel.

Our Dragonborn Oath of Conquest Paladin set fire to the Death House...burnt it down...fun times!
Sterling has my heart 🖤. What a great party!
Awesome cast and great characters. I can't wait to find out more about the characters as they develop within the adventure.
Thanks Jose! We can't wait to play more!

I can't wait for us all to get along too! You'll find out why in Episode 4.
We’re in the middle of Strahd right now and we’re about to do Old Bonegrinder Mill. Something tells me we’re gonna be hurting afterwards
(Falpher here... trying not to metagame...)... A BONEGRINDER MILL!?!? WHAAAAA?!?!
Something horrible you shouldn’t worry yourself with just yet, little one. ~Pyrrhus
Lol I'm just starting to DM a Strahd campaign foe the first time. How'd Old Bonegrinder go?

did the audio cut out at around 31:23 and come back at 31:48 for anyone else or was it just me?
It did it for me as well
Me as well.
Who is Oro going "throw down the well!"?
You guys need to add the music to the credits roll.

BostonDeadHead thanks for commenting!!
When you open the bag.. you read the words Canadian Whisky Crown Royal.
They do eventually get to the game and its worth the wait. Hang in there.
We're also working at making the intro time shorter. So much to share - so little time.
It’s a great show
I love tartan flannels as well.
SUPER comfy eh?
Right?!
Hahaha to get mushrooms you must go to the forest. That was brilliant
