The level of research behind this video was pitiful. Maxwell was signed the season after the treble. And the signings from Pep’s first season had nothing to do with him. The only two that worked out were Pique and Dani Alves because they brought things that the team needed. The rest were vanity signings that Pep didn’t and wouldn’t have asked for. At the time he was vocal about the club wasting money on players he didn’t need and disliked being forced to accommodate. That treble won gave him the credibility and leverage that forced Txiki Beguiristain to listen to him and buy and sell players as requested.
