I heard this just in time. First Ramadan for me and figuring out Iftar is not always easy. Calling out for pizza was sounding good today but instead I will use the simpler stuff that I already have at home. Ramadan Mubarak. May a healthier world be sustained.
I wish you ease and fulfilment in Ramadan, both physical and spiritual. Islam is a beautiful religion and remember that if Allah made you take the decision, He will take care of you (sometimes implicitly, other times explicitly).
Our prayers are with you respected sister, I hope everything goes well for you in this month. Don’t forget us weak souls with very few deeds, we would greatly favour your prayers and good wishes. ❤
I am sick this Ramadan. I have a cold. Lectures like this help me feel blessings of the holy month. Thank you, dear Sheykh and CMC team❤ As salam aleykum from Russia
I have been on this case for many years, striving to encourage people to seek not only ‘halal’ but also ‘tayyib’ means of sustenance, and I use the modern ‘chicken’ industry as an example of what may be ‘halal’ but not ‘tayyib’ as it lacks ethics in production and rearing.
My ustaadh told me that it may not even be halal if the animal is made to suffer in conditions in order for us to eat them. That being said the point still is there, something may be halal but not the best type of food
Thankyou! ❤One of the biggest issues and causes me so much sadness is so-called ‘halal’ meat which are produced from battery farms, oppressing and animals and are cheaply sold in halal butchers and supermarkets. Please please buy free range or organic meat from places like Willowbrook farm or Abrahams ❤
One of the gems of Ummah in modern times. May Allah reward you immensely for your great efforts and especially the guidance you are providing us for our inner-cleansing and spiritual discipline.
Subhan Allah. Excellent talk. The Ummah really needs to hear this. Should clothes made in sweat shops be included? Anyone has the reference about chickens bred in terrible conditions? Ramadhan Kareem
mashallah, brother, abdal hakim, a true scholar, an absolute asset to us. he speaks about the realm, professor abdal Hakim muras, absolute genius our ummah,
Excellent, thoughtful distinction made in usage of “proper” foods and drink- not just at Ramadan, but throughout the year, for a healthy and peaceful life ! Thank you for bringing up this often not discussed subject!!
MashaAllah TabarakAllah ❤. Excellent video to ponder and much needed in our times. Trying my best to do it, absolutely no to processed and industrialized food.
My parents can't speak or understand English, but they were very interested in the pertinence of the subjects the CMC offer - It would be nice to have captions in Arabic so they can follow along, choukran jazilan!
Ramadan Mubarak, beautiful video and may Allah increase you, Shaykh. This is my first time watching this scholar and it is evident by his manner he educated Shaykh Rhodus very closely:)
Wonderful. This has been on my conscious for years when I look into the deep freeze in supermarkets at so called halal chickens. I just feel that they are not really halal and tayyib. Very often I opt to cook a vegetarian meal instead. Would love to have access to organic halal meat of a high standard (currently living in a Middle Eastern country).
Ramadan Mubarak ☪️ to you brother Tim Winter and Ramadan Mubarak to your family. Thanks for mentioning the food culture in our Muslim world. We just look how Halal our meat and our chicken are but un-aware of how harmful and unhealthy most our food is and the plastic containers we use specially in Ramadan unfortunately. Ramadan Mubarak ☪️ to everyone.
Very nicely put! A new perspective, while buying eggs we have to be careful how the hens are kept! Though, better the conditions of hen, more the price 😢
Good reminder, even the Arabs wouldn't use dirty money from haram means to build Kabbah during Jahiliyah period. Eating Tayyab is very subtle in modern times, you need really observe almost entire food content, clothes as whole economy is built on its opposite.
I used to follow Islam unconscious of all the wrongs and ills of the doctrine. I was speaking to a man from Pakistan in the month of Ramadan we were on the bus going home I gave him his salams and it turned out he was not impressed with Islam at all he said a young was boy was fasting in a hot country he unfortunately died due to dehydration. All in the name of god it makes me wonder
Somewhere a child ate something when he was not fasting and died of anaphylactic shock. All in the name of eating 😉. Its a petty excuse to blame god. Allah never commanded to kill children by making them fast in sickness, its not compulsory before puberty, and it is permissible to break fast if situation calls for it.
Riyad as-Salihin 1851 Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "O people! Allah is Pure and, therefore, accepts only that which is pure. Allah has commanded the believers as He has commanded His Messengers by saying: 'O Messengers! Eat of the good things, and do good deeds.' (23:51) And He said: 'O you who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you..."' (2:172). Then he (ﷺ) made a mention of the person who travels for a long period of time, his hair are dishevelled and covered with dust. He lifts his hand towards the sky and thus makes the supplication: 'My Rubb! My Rubb!' But his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothes are unlawful and his nourishment is unlawful, how can, then his supplication be accepted?" [Muslim].
سَلَام - yes I agree with most of what you said. But you sound a little bit pretentious. I don’t think all the British Muslims can afford to buy “Organic , Free Ranged, Sustainable, Cruelty Free Halal Chicken” no , most of them can buy the chicken bought from the local Asian superstore , and what’s wrong with that?

insha'Allah may Allah make it easy for you, amin ya Allah.
May Allah accept all your duas, and make this month easy for you 🤲🏼
Ramadan Kareem Nancy.. May Allah brings you Sakeena سكينة this Ramadan and grants you all you wish for ❤

Are you any better now? May Allah give you health and strength! As-salamu alaykum from Albania
This SHOULD be taught to children.
I think the way forward should be muslim owning small farms and shopping locally.
This is the only way forward insha'Allah. A sound solution Alhamdulillah.
Exactly what I thought while listening to this great video.

As balanced and as subtle and as principled as ever.
I am much happy to have discovered this scholar. He calls upon us to consider the things which we ignore unnoticedly.
