Great videos! I love my MXT. I've found the notch at least in Canada to be real hit or miss. The real old oval pulltabs, it works every time. The modern ones...Man! Those range in anywhere from 18 to 94 VDI! Sometimes when I do use it is if I get a questionable hit, I'll hit the notch, and if the audio sputters at all, I'll move on. I find it'll filter about 25%-30% of the Pt's. it's a small number, but it's a good tool on the fly. Please keep the vids coming.
Yeah! I used to detect in the States from time to time quite a while ago. Found most pulltabs VDI'd fairly close. I guess a lot of it has to do with some of the mixed alloys they use given the large push for recycling nowadays.I'm told that White's nixed the feature on the Pro. It just get's a little tough in Canada because our more modern coins are using a steel core which also ring randomly. I always go for the old stuff, but hey...The new stuff pays for gas & hot coffee on the cold days. lol.
Hi, I was curious as to what the tube like accessory is that is inline with the coil to detector cord ?Great videos, your tips are much appreciated.Scooter in Montana
Gary Sabo it means you may have more than one thing in the whole. The flip side to that is there’s a possibility it’s just junk in the hole too. Gotta did everything until you learn how your machine talks. Good luck learning your equipment and happy metal detecting!!

I leave mine not notched. The black box is a good indicator that it's probably a ring and not a tab. I use low discrimination number and use my discretion. I dig most things. The very first silver coin I ever found was a 1545 Mexico City 1 real. I had dug 6-8 fishing weights prior to that and they were nearly same number. Whites MXT Pro
The MXT is the best multi purpose single frequency machine. Lots of features easy to operate, very handy and brings you success in no time. GL & HH
Did not know that's what the forward lock position did on the pinpoint trigger.. I need to go back and re-hunt my sites!! Thanks for the video!
Ive had my mxt pro now for 3 years. THe best MD I have ever owned. I am currently thinking about getting the 950 coil for it.

That's a sunray in-line pin pointer works great!
Your welcome and thanks for the comment.
Got used one 2 weeks ago. Found nice 1890. Ih penny. 7. Inch deep. .
Do you metal detect anymore? Have you ever tested a Troy shadow X5? Would be Interested in seeing that.
I have a Whites MXT and Im having a problem with the VDI jumping around. One sweep it'll show penny then foil, then iron...etc. What does that mean?
