I’ve seen slash live, small venues a few times. I’ve also been watching a lot of videos of his recent gigs. He sure seems like he’s playing better than he’s ever played.
Well I grabs my guitar and my sunglasses and I’m ready to learn this amazing solo one of my favorite man thank you so much for this amazing work u did 🤘🤘🤘
@@SpedSpedding Since 1987,I've really only listened to GnR, Snakepit, VR, and The Conspirators. One day, I might be able to play Nightrain start to finish!. Your intro to the video is very clever and very funny. Any Slash fan will appreciate it.
@@SpedSpedding Where do you rate him? He can be blisteringly fast, keeps it really clean, is super aggressive but always stays melodic. He's gotta be right up there as one of the very greatest, surely? Plus the songs he had to play over weren't bad either!
Ill take Slash in any other band over GnR tbf. Snakepit was incredible, love SMKC his collabs with other artists from 2010 is a great album. Even the feature in Daughtry's What I Want is a face-melter.
Yes Josh! Stoked you agree it was worth lifting out and looking in greater detail. Since learning this I use the same passage between those shapes in my own way all the time. 🙏🏻
The thing that I will always find mind blowing is that he was 21 years old when he came up with this sorta stuff. Such a talented player who clearly has far more knowledge than he lets on...
The top hat only really comes in to play for rhythm playing, the glasses are pivotal for lead though as you can see from the video. Hope this helps... 🤣
I’m checking it out right now, although I’m still working on memorizing the last bits and pieces from your Stairway To Heaven tutorial. ( Which is freakin phenomenal ) Thanks man.
Definitely, and to be quite honest I need to be thanking you man! So many dudes post tutorials on this wasteland we call UA-cam and it’s either just wrong, or you can’t understand or they just blow through it so fast there’s a whole lotta nothing! 🤣
With my eyesight, dark glasses are an absolute no-no inside a house. I’d be stumbling around like Roy Orbison. Interesting comment on using different fingerings. I’ve never been mad on using my pinky. Always found it too weak. I’ll use it when I’ve got a wide stretch on the bass strings, but 90% of the time I’ll stretch with my ring finger or tap the note with my right hand. It’s a cop out but it’s what I’ve got used to.
You can always break habits if you focus and repeat, only if it bothers you though. There are a lot of scenarios where pinky is essential, the more you use it the stronger it’ll get! 💪🏻
I got my cat lady rhinestone problem glasses on… Alrighty! Let the Slashady knowledge learnings commence! Does it matter if it’s a 57 or a 59 LPaul? I wanna do it in the most pretentious - Paul Davis non-rocking - style. ;)
🤣 I touched on this in another comment. The hat actually comes into play for the rhythm parts so it’s pretty useless for the lead parts. I’ll be sure to feature it when needed in future. 🎩
@@SpedSpedding oh black framed? Mine are silver. *puts on blacked framed ones. Plays entire song from scratch without missing a note* Yup. That was it. You’re the best

Holy cow! The notes all sound so amazing with sunglasses. Thanks for completely upgrading my ability.

You're welcome, what shades are we working?
MAAAN, Thank You.
I've been looking forward to learn this.
Appreciated.
You’re welcome, I hope you get something out of it. It’s a proper meaty run! 🍖
This was a great lesson as I’m a huge Slash fan and learned from Niko Slash. Well done my friend. I enjoyed this very much. 🦖🎩🎶🎸🐍
I am stoked Ray, so glad you liked it!
Thanks, Sped. I've been waiting decades for this!
That’s epic, this specific run you’ve been waiting for? Or the secrets behind the shades? 🤘🏻🤣

That’s amazing, thank you. Glad this helped you nail one of the trickiest parts!
I'm not a Guns n roses fan to be honest. But Slash is ducking amazing!
He is! An absolute champion of melody. ✨🎩

Same as that! The outro to Night train is epic!
Man, I love that you did this, and I absolutely agree. I worked on this a while back too... Quintessential Slash!

😎Love your sarcasm in this one 😂I'll get you a 🎩 for the next one. ❤️xxx
🤣🤣🤣 Yeah I definitely need an upgrade from the hat I’ve been wearing in certain other videos. Xxx
Man you were right. The glasses make the tone
Which ones are you rocking?
Gerat lesson !! but did you play bass with stryper a long time ago?🤔

Hahaha I say the same thing all the time... 21 years old, where did it all come from? Something in the water in Stoke.
LOL!
You’re missing the real high black top hat brother! 🤣🤟
Best guitar channel on UA-cam right here!

Very cool lp. Is that custom shop?
Nice very Nice Thanks !!!!
Finally, someone realizes that They Live is a documentary. Sunglasses FTW.
Haha because my eyes are sensitive to any sort of light I have to play with total black ray bans on 😂 This was an amazing lesson btw 🤘🏼

My favorite Slash solo.
It's a whopper isn't it.
Hey man, can you tell me what model of Les Paul is that? Gorgeous color
Thanks so much, it's a '98 Standard, Plaintop Honeyburst.

On which guitar do you play?
Well mate if you wanna a designer shades you should go for Tom Ford Aviator.. keep doing what you do best play guitar and forget fashion :-)
You havent given the one true secret! It is not just the shades, but the rings are far more important 😂
Clocks and Colours will be all over this comment. Agrees. 🤣
Not all the strat players getting mad
hey Sped - I thought you sounded better with glasses off :)
I was going to give you 10 out of ten but im knocking a point off for the sin of head nudity. A great lesson though. Well done.
‘Head nudity’ . 😂 That’s a term I’ve never heard. It’s the simple things sometimes.

Tone shades
Tone shades are ESSENTIAL for this video. What are you rocking?
@@SpedSpedding I'm rocking aviators but they're not rayban, might explain why my tone isn't working properly!might try it your way lol
