I'm old school and love the title Home Ec. My oldest just graduated and I love knowing that he can cook, clean, open a bank account, file his taxes, clean the dryer vent, change a tire & his truck oil, do laundry, fold a fitted sheet😂, season a cast iron pan, take the proper amount of Tylonal at the proper time and return a package if need be.
Can I just THANK YOU for including such detailed links evvvvery single video! I've followed you for a couple of years now as well as a few other moms and you blow me away with how everything you talk about is well linked! It makes shopping so easy (I spend a lot of money when your picks videos pop up😅) Even your post-it notes are linked and I absolutely appreciate you taking the time for your viewers ❤
Our local public highschool calls home ec classes "Family & Consumer Science" with 3 options level 1, level 2, and living on your own. Each are .5 credit.
Hi! Love your videos! Are you no longer using Gather Round (for your older two)? I'm trying to decide if we'll use it for high school (I have an incoming 9th grader and 4th grader). My 14 yr old/9th grade son likes GR and it worked well for last year, he has learning disabilities and the flexibility of unit studies worked great for us, BUT he's interested in a biology/science heavy career (marine biology) so I'm questioning whether we should continue using GR for high school as he's most likely college-bound. Thanks!
Hi! I am new to your channel. Would love to see more about the Berean Builders Science, maybe a quick flip through of the student workbook. My daughter will be starting high school soon. Thank you! 😊
This was as usual great. Thank you. Maybe you have a video explaining why you went with BB over apologia. I’m having a hard time deciding although I already purchased the material for 7th grade apologia. Thanks for any help.
It's hard to believe you already have two high schoolers! I have my eye on MUS for my youngest two with special needs. We will start with Masterbooks and see how it goes. I have heard amazing things about MUS for neurotypical learners as well as children with special needs.
MUS moved too fast for my special needs child and MB would not have been enough for him. I highly recommend Rod & Staff Arithmetic. It's been a real God-send for him!
Always so helpful to see high school picks--thanks for sharing!

I'm definitely working on the time management and training my almost 13 year old. Yes, lots of checkins!

Would love to see a flip through on the Notgrass World History and a review on how it's working out so far.
Love that we have similar picks/tastes in music for our videos :)
do you have a reading book list for american history?
You are so fun!! Thanks for such a great video and for sharing everything. I got so many great ideas. 😊

Yes no Gather Round for my high schoolers this year. (We really enjoyed the history mini units 1-5 last year though).
Did not know Berean Builders had videos. I will have to remember that :) Thank you for sharing!
Yeah, why do they not have Home Ec in schools any more? So sad. I remember doing it in middle school.

Wow, two high schoolers. So fun!😊
Your daughter sounds a lot like mine!! I’ll be looking into some of these picks for her for the next couple years 😊
I love your videos. My child is going into 6th grade, but I always like to look ahead for some ideas and inspiration. 😊

This will be our first year using Wordly Wise with grades 7 & 10. Do you think I'm crazy for starting it late in their school years?
We call home ec "life essentials".
What's a half credit is that like half the year worth ?
It varies by state, but yes in Ohio a half credit is usually a one semester course.
