Hey everyone! I had the honor to collaborate with the amazing Adam Rafferty this time. Adam and I have enjoyed each other's playing for many years now and just had the opportunity to put together this collab video for you! We hope you enjoy it :)
That whole section at 2:12 made blue bossa sound like such a hard-hitting bossanova song. Truly incredible improv and playing by both of you, so inspirational.
Two Maestros, one beautifully harmonized take on a classic tune (with the signature Walter Rodrigues Jr’s creative chordal touches)! No better way to start the day! Peace and happiness to you both and to all of your lucky listeners. 🙏❤️
Great arrangement and performance...not easy to play this nice but overplayed standard in an innovative way...you did it 😯...congrats and thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Really wonderful Adam and Walter! I love this Kenny Dorham tune. The perfect way to hear this song is with two great guitarists playing nylon string guitars! Thanks, John Gig Harbor, WA
Wow wow, two of my favourite guitar players together what an incredible joy, thank you, love as always the new reharmonizations on this standart, great solos. 👏👏👏👏🥰💜💜🙌🏽🙌🏽
Walter - it's a dream team, it really is - when this popped into my inbox, and I saw who you were having as a guest, I was gobsmacked, Adam is one of the best - but OMG, you held your own, and then some - and I really mean that - your references to other bossas in your solo was not missed, and I look forward to some more interesting collaborations in the future. Regards from one of your biggest UK fans, who will NEVER (even though I own ten guitars and a ukulele and am now in my 71st year) come anywhere close to your brilliance.
This is such Fantastic playing from both of you! A wonderful take on a classic with so much Music and so much Bossa!! I haven't heard a more genuine version! Thanks for being an amazing Inspiration Walter Rodrigues Jr. :) From one alumni to another you are on my list of Legends and I look up to your playing with both pleasure & awe :)
You guys are amazing! The coordination with timing…the synthesis of harmonies… the uniqueness in each take- truly phenomenal musicianship!! (My layman terms are probably not as exact as they should be, but I trust you get the idea). Great video!!
Walter I wonder what guitar Adam is playing. Any idea? It looks like it could be a Cordoba. I don’t think I’ve seen him use it before. Also, it’s interesting to hear the difference with your usual microphone placement vs his. I’m sure it makes a difference and maybe it’s just a matter of preference.
Adam is playing a cordoba GK studio negra. I think he uses the X/Y mic placement technique. I usually point one mic towards the 12th feet and the other one between the sound hole and the bridge.
@@walterfingerstyle I believe the purpose of the X/Y is to avoid phasing but you space out your microphones and have for a long time so I’m assuming it’s not a problem for you and you get a great sound.
pleaseeee collab with alip ba ta from Indonesia maan.. i wish and i promise you, you will get any subscriber from Indonesia man.. i dont know why, youre amazing mr. walt but you just get 100k+ sub.. if you collab with Indonesian guitaris.. maaan i promise you will get million subscriber man..
