Thank you for taking your time to post the lyrics. They bring tears to my eyes especially with their voices blending together so beautifully. I love Stevie and grew up hearing the Gorillaz. I would never imagine them together on a song. What a great combination! Thanks again !
The song is about the memory of a failed relationship, in which although there was effort to make it work in the best way, it simply could not happen. Where there was a lot of enthusiasm on the part of the singer (in this case 2-D), with many unfulfilled dreams and broken promises. It clearly talks about how "feelings" quickly fade after the "infatuation" phase is over, where you stop idealizing the person and start to see their flaws. (In some relationships that happens very quickly). It also talks about the grief after the breakup, where the painful duality between denial and acceptance is experienced. Which comes at the end, after losing all hope, where you feel like the world is ending, a phase that slowly becomes the point of no return, where you begin to overcome and leave everything behind, where the memory stops hurting and despite of everything you choose self-love and unconditional love above all things.
My mom introduced me to Gorillaz, and my grandmother introduced me to Stevie nicks. I never thought there'd be a day where I was able to hear the two together. But I'm so happy that it exists
Stevie is killing it so HARD on this chorus I feel like its Gorillaz but it definitely has some Fleetwood vibes which is awesome after so many years its like getting a new Mac song.
I showed this song to my 60+ year old parents. They dispise anything music after 2000. They loved it, and said the exact same thing. Tha it felt like Fleetwood again.
I have to disagree the autotune mixed with her vocals are disastrous. She held the song back in my opinion. Hopefully they release a version without her.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1: 2-D]
Then I put my codes in the machine
But the world I found was made of faulty dreams (Of faulty dreams)
[Chorus: 2-D]
I was on my own there, in the psychic silence
I was looking out for some other kite to
[Verse 2: 2-D]
Fly out of the doldrums and recall the log
From the early database of your love (Of your love)
[Chorus: 2-D & Stevie Nicks]
Fairy-like companions to the dark maths that catapult
Us into imagined worlds, seems a mockery remote
[Verse 3: 2-D & Stevie Nicks]
Interlocking cluster bombs, "Like drum and bass," I thought
Close the wells of poison, fill them up with love
[Bridge: 2-D, 2-D & Stevie Nicks]
I was on my own there, I was all alone
I got lost, intangible, but that's thе place you reach when
You can't hеlp yourself anymore and the madness comes
You'll be falling into the bass and drum (Bass and drum)
[Chorus: 2-D & Stevie Nicks]
Fairy-like companions to the dark maths that catapult
Us into imagined worlds, seems a mockery remote
[Verse 4: 2-D, 2-D & Stevie Nicks]
'Cause I got no choice in it and I'm not so cold
I could look you in the eye and not recall (And not recall)
[Outro: 2-D, Both, Stevie Nicks]
(I was on my own…)
Don't think that my heart is a sad affair without you
Individual actions change the world
Fill them up with love
