Your wife is amazing! Imagine having a wife that doesn't kill you every time you bring a project home. And also offers to help clean it 😀 And it's nice to hear your pronunciation of peugeot, usually in english people say "puuugeot" and it sounds terrible 😂
Haha she's brilliant
Exactly! It always makes me cringe when I hear people say Pew-Joe.
That window had me howling, perfect timing.
Great dynamic between you and the Mrs. Nice to see her hands on with your projects (no doubt a camera person on occasions too).
Entertaining and the Pug Pickup looks a lot better for the clean. What a great engine on these.
The main thing here is you have a very good engine that’s barely done 100k and having driven these pick ups and the 404 in Kenya I can tell you they are good for 2 to 300 000 miles if serviced regularly . Don’t worry about the body , you can source new panels or second hand from Kenya , Argentina , Mexico, and South Africa , maybe get them made in uk from a 3D printing set up with a metal works co , they could prob use the old panels as templates for new ones.. This is going to be an exciting adventure and I can’t wait for the next video.

Love this content, it is natural and very practical, been following this Peugeot since you recovered it from the field. I cannot wait to see it's transformation in the coming months.
My grandpa owned a 403 diesel and a 504 station wagon, this was when I was little, living with my grandparents in Ghana. Couple of years later, my uncle changed cars from a Toyota Tercel hatchback into a nice 306 saloon. I have always held Peugeots in high regard as a result, was very excited to run a 407 SW for a while, which I named after my grandpa, and now I (would like to think I) am keeping the spirit alive with my Partner, Trevor. Still want me another big Peugeot estate to roll of into the sunset with... Hats off to you two for giving this old truck another lease on life
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Growing up in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe there were many of these old beauties driving around. The sedan and station wagon variant was actually assembled in that country until the economy imploded.
My dad had 2 sedans and they smooth, powerful and quiet to drive even on the dirt roads we had to navigate then. That particular pickup you have there also came out in a rare but beautiful 4x4 version too.
In the 90’s in Kenya we called this Peugeots king of the road we had a 504 station wagon and 505 GTI. Hello from Australia
Lovely old Pug! These are good for multiples of hundreds-of-thousands of miles. I always wanted a 504 pickup when they came out - got to drive several through work, but never owned one myself; they held their money.
I love car cleaning videos! Even if half the vehicle is rotted away. 😂 Keep up the great work sir.
I have a feeling that this video is gonna bring a lot of viewers and subscribers to the channel.
It was fun to see you two work together in this video. And the truck is kinda cool as well.
As always you make a great video, keep them coming matey.😊
fabulous, simply fabulous Your faith in the old rusty car.. and show how much is possible with little faith and few tools
Great video! Today's team is no. 1 🎉🎉🎉 Can't wait for the next!
"Go gentle on that bit" absolutely sent me. As did the window falling into the door.
Yeah go careful now, that there's load bearing paint...
Great series, looking forward to seeing the rest of it
My dad used to own one but a petrol 504 Peugeot .. in Zimbabwe it's an extremely respected car caz it never dies... Engine overhaul can be done in a day.. caz it's simple and very easy to work on.. we call it FIBRE here.. that's the nickname we gave that model.. I learnt to drive on that car.. with only gear 2&4and reverse going in the rest nothing 😂.. yep good old days.. but yes keep working on her.. Yu will love her.. I promise.. as for your wife.. I got two words for her . RARE SPECIES.. You are absolutely lucky bro.
Loving the channel already .. You two make a great team .. That old girl deserves the attention .. keep it up 😁
Part of my enjoyment of this channel is the cleaning, with the before and after ❤
Awesome little vehicle! Keen to see how far you take it
Fab project mate.
I wondered how well my karcher would do in a situation like that, now I do
😆 Gawd you lucky man.
My Mrs only laughs at me like that now when I fall off a ladder or down the stairs 😭😳
love the vibe of you two!
Nice to see you working together
Good to see your good lady getting involved. You've got your work cut out for you with this one. A clean(er) vehicle is better to work on.
Great video.
I reckon the truck itself was originally yellow then resprayed White.
Edit: now after completing the entire video, I cracked up at the window being held in part 😂
Absolutely loved this. Great seeing the much prettier half too. Made me laugh this one. Truck is definitely worth saving. Great job
Good job its looking great . And your Wife liking and helping you with this cars it's amazing .Live Long and Prosper🖖🏻
Great team work, and having a laugh too. Keep it going !!!!
Thanks, Martin
we used to buy lots of these in the late 80s , they come with a rear LSD so as a 2wd truck was pretty cable for farmers who we sold them to .
New subscriber here .
Please use eye protection, getting that stuff in your eyes is no joke. I love what you guys are doing with the truck, keep it up
Cool, not sure I've ever seen one in the flesh, I thought I knew my cars of the 70's, 80's and 90's. My grandad kept his 304 for 27 years until Peugeot garage said, it has more welding than original structure, I believe it is in Peugeot's personal collection now, it still looks immaculate from the outside in the lovely burgundy colour.
Please keep a look out for a Pug 305 van, there used to be loads of them about and they have all disappeared, most of them were doing 80 or 90 mph a lot of the time. Great job with the 504 pickup, my uncle had one on his farm for years.
she’s a keeper! and i’m not talking about the truck..
You find one you keep one... Too bad I don't have 1
LOL 😂😂😂
are you talking about the cat?
@@kirdot2011Same here ☹️

To clean the body, instead of high pressure washer, try a sand blaster.
😂😂
Hi Nino. My grandfather here in Australia had a 404 sedan 1969 the model before this I know but it was the yellow that is under your white. Iw was a Peugeot colour though till the early 80s I believe. On the bad bit of the bonnet in the centre I think there would have been a 504 badge that pushed into holes possibly why it is bad. I am also fairly sure that the 404 ute or pickup ran a few years after the 504 range started. Then the same with the 504 crossing the 505 range. Anyway great channel, great cars and a brilliant attitude to having a go. Thanks. Marc
Brilliant job 👍
Loads of those around in the 1980's in the construction business, we had a Peugeot 504 Family Estate with 7 seats.
Great effort at being the ‘influencer’ types & posing next to it. Funny 😂
If I'm not much mistaken, that herringbone pattern cloth on the seats was also used by Citroën....
My town council (Wansbeck, northumberland) had those in yellow paint back in the 80s. So imagine your local council had them too. We had one as a work horse back in our yard. Never not started too. It just rotted to bits.
Brilliant video ! 😊😊😊
Cheers, Nick, my old mate
Loved the outtakes 😂
What a fab truck!
❤لدينا هذه السيارات هنا في تونس ايضا و هي موجودة بكثرة و يمكن ان تعود جديدة حتى لو كانت محطمة 👍
Your enthusiastic willingness to revive forgotten cars reminds me of the French YT channel "Smells Like Gasoline" and Danish YT channel "Seaside Garage" (I even conflated your channel with his for a split second!). Maybe you could get in touch with them to exchange tips and tricks about car restauration and spare parts...
If I'm not mistaken, this red paint undercoat (redlead, called "minium" in French) excelled at avoiding rust and corrosion BUT was made with lead oxide, so in 1989 there was already some regulation on lead paint that compelled Peugeot to use unleaded paint undercoat in other places than the pickup bed.
Loving the ute 😊
A woman like this is hard to find. Someone who supports your scrappy shitty work and is willing to physically get her hands dirty with you... You're blessed!
Ain’t that the truth 🙏🏻
Hi, i just discovered your channel and love your content. i'm just wondering whats gonna happen next with this car, as it seems every panel is rusted through in some place. Also would love to see whats it looks like like underneath. A friend bought one like this recently, but the lifted 4wd variant. It turned out that a crossmember under the bed had been completely rusted through. Hope yours is in better shape, but I doubt it, given what you showed so far. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck to restore it to its former glory :)
so cool!, you should leave the car lookin like that but fix the rust underneath, and maybe fit better brakes
Great car 😊
you guys are awsome😆
Your wife is an asset to the channel..
She's an asset to my entire life lol
I'd love to have her in more videos she's quite funny
Well Nino, you have started now, may as well finish the job, break out the welder and get going
Good luck 🤞🛻
I drive an old 86 F250 that has spent many years under trees, is just about as mottled as your truck, and has seen many northern US winters. Water held against the bed to make rust worse. Yet, it is solid and every body panel is in great shape. Did they make the panels of this truck out of cheese? Why so much corrosion?
What was the interior brush you were using and where can i get one?
I think it may have originally been yellow, nice job and funny too.
It's a hard one because they made these pickups in white and yellow. It's registered as a white vehicle. I should probably try and decode the VIN number
On the inner wing it's got wtac it might of been a council owned veichle at one time yellow paint also a factor looks no different with a wash lol
Great video from you both, very natural and entertaining, love the 504 pick up,I saw one driving along in Essex on Saturday.
Appreciate that 👍
Good lord, you’ve performed major surgery with the A6 and the Rover P6 but this requires a resurrection. Wishing the very best and looking forward to the next instalment!
The P6 doesn't look any better rust-wise to me. Both need loads and loads of welding all over.
Now, this is love gents :)
I see major reconstruction surgery in the trucks future. Good luck, i think you'll need it.
I'm very impressed with the jet wash, though. Ours in New Zesland, don't run that strong.
Pls appreciate your Lady's attitude toward your hobby being your Partner in it...
I'm jelaous...🙃
what you like with a welder it looks like its going to need plenty of metal welded to it😄
Use an old paint brush and larger vacuum nozzle 1st to remove the debris, then before you jetwash, apply Gunk, then agitate, then jetwash again. Alwash start from the top down and get yoursen a better jetwash 👍
Good effort guys but you missed the most important thing, remove anything that says Peugeot 😮😅😂
im egyptin u good man and girl good famely
rust was the biggest problem with that series. had a 504 estate . the wheels are 5 lug which looks to be from the 404 estate and pickup. someone fibre glassed the bed because again rust.
More rs6 content please love the vids
Sorry that’s not really patina it’s still dirt! Have you tried Brillo pads??
I wonder if its ex BT, as their old vans were all the same shade of yellow?
Your woman is a hit, make her full time in the vids from now on.🎉
She’s a star ⭐️
She is indeed
You to put a paint stripper on the whole truck then rust + body repair and then finally repaint it 🤙
The wheels look good also the interior looks good and please call it a pick up or ute not a truck it is not a truck its a ute
Looks like it was ex BT with that yellow paint everywhere ✌🏻 sorry if it's been mentioned before 😅
Looking good but I think you might be polishing a t*rd. But its looking better. Nice to see the missus getting involved. 😃😃
Definitely polishing a turd haha
I tought you were going to say this is my Peugeot from 1989 and this is my wife, they were made the same year but wife was taken care of by me 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great find but that nozzle on the jet wash gives me the fear, absolutely hate that twirly motion and takes twice as long to actually clean anything compared to a solid jet 🙈
The channel must be doing well.... he's got an apprentice now!
Appreciadados on the clean Nino, but PLEASE (for future) don’t use the “Patio” setting for the clean - wayyyyyyyyyy too powerful , esp.given she’s already crusty!
Use the Jet Wash wisely……Concentrated snow foam for a super long (30 mins) dose should sort it!
Had me absolutely howling at the speed of thought on the ‘it’ll take MY weight’ comment, and Mrs NEV’s delayed response😂😂😂
Lots to do, (really, lots and lots), but YOU said you’d get her back on the road (the Peugeot😉), so really looking forward to the next (several) instalments!
Keep ‘em comin’!
JCHK
(Where’s the W124?)
Great to see you both in this yet another enjoyable video. But the registration on it comes back as a diesel motorcycle 🤔wtf 🤣🤣
Shows up correct for me, 1989 Peugeot 504, 2.3L diesel, white. First registered 28/2/1989. Last V5c issued 28/6/2012
@@masterblaster20006 That's strange, just tried again. Still showing a Peugeot White diesel motorcycle. Diesel motorcycle 🤔
@@masterblaster20006 it does show the correct picture of the car though 😕
@londoncentral strange. Maybe once it gets presented for an MOT (That should be interesting) the systems might right themselves
Yer a brave ? Man 👍🏻🏴👍🏻
i was offerd an orange one off these for £800 with a new mot lasy year ,now there crazy money.
0:17 Cat emerges from below the Truck
Of all the cars to come and see your wife came out for this one??? Hahaha this is the worst turd you have brought home yet. And I'm saying that about my favorite vehicle in the fleet. Lol dude I was laughing so hard when she was trying to hold the window screaming. That's a fun day together for y'all. Nice work!
Pocket on the hill, turn the working join out
Diamond wash 😉
The obligatory pin-holes in the drivers seat, a result no doubt of hot resin boulders in the 80's/90's before weed took over ! ;)
If I remember correctly that yellow was a top coat colour not a primer it looks like it has been resprayed white . Good video
Yeah they definitely did these in that colour, but the car is registered as white 🤷
@@NotEconomicallyViable Could have been officially changed though, couldn't it?
A good valeting will always add loads to the desirability of a car. (lol)
If it's of any interest the interior is the same as a Citroen BX I had
Old diesels: require some form of liquid in the tank and will continue to run
Modern petrols: will blow a head gasket if you look at it the wrong way 🤣
😂 "old people still shower" some of 'em anyway lol
Update? 😉
Fascinating to watch. You really should wear eye protection using that power washer....
Please don't clean your rs6 with the patio nozzle, cool vid though :) I'd paint it all with a brush, primer and gloss lol
Im here for the rust.
Very rarely to see a wife helping her husband to clean a car
