So he hates it when he's lied to unless it's something positive for him, in which case he doesn't imagine it could be untrue. He is easy to play.
He believes he can get away with everything because he is a stable genius and he wants people around him to share his views so that he only hears good things about himself.
To get cured I think he has to face a huge failure where people close to him turn against him, which may happen when they realize he has lost everything or for other reasons. If he still keeps thinking it's unfair then he's lost.

I wasn't even alive during WWII, but I lived in Germany from age 6 until I went to college because my dad was an officer in the army, and I feel de javu listening to Trump supporters (some of whom are decent people ...or I thought they were).
My grandmother immigrated to the US from Germany when she was a teenager and it wasn't until I was in college that I realized she didn't think the Holocaust happened (despite having literally gone to Auschwitz while visiting us one year in Germany). She was in her 70s and she made a strange comment when I brought the Holocaust up (I was talking about a paper I was writing). I can't remember exactly what she said, but it hit me that she didn't believe what I was telling her, and I didn't press her on it because I was caught off guard.
My husband probably just won't vote rather than vote blue; and while he will never, again, verbally support Trump in my presence, he refuses to denounce him. He just wishes we could forget about "old stuff" and now says he's not interested "interested in politics" 😂.
