I remember visiting Shimokitazawa in early 2016 when a lot of us were still wearing super skinny jeans (or maybe just me). 😂 Everyone in Tokyo was wearing these baggy pants, which then CONFIRMED, years later, that Tokyo is way ahead of the rest of the world in terms of fashion because now everyone wears baggier pants. Anyway...

As soon as you said your were trying to find pants I knew you were going to have trouble finding anything that fit your long legs. I lived there for three years and finding pants long enough was so tough. And I’m not nearly as tall as you! I loved the loose fitting style the Japanese had. Cute finds!

What a coincidence! I just returned from a trip to Japan and imo, Shimokitazawa is way better than the Haight-Ashbury in SF. The Haight has stuff older than 1960s and more American denim, but it's not nearly as curated as Shimokita. Shimokita has tons of 1980s secretary blouses, Burberry coats, cashmere, and shoes in beautiful condition.

Laura Marazzi I was in Japan a couple of months ago and visited a few thrift stores. Tbh they are really steep in price, but i did find a decent range in sizing but keep in mind most Japanese are short and on the slimmer side (saying this because i might have gotten lucky that day). But overall it was one of the best trips I’ve ever had in my life 10000% recommend!

You don't even have to DIY the shirt! Just google 'clips to make shirts tighter' and go to the shopping tag and you'll see lots of really pretty clips to cinch in shirts that are too big! Stylish and a life saver!
