      but doesn't the click switches take away from the sensitivity of control? Like you can't get much variation in strength of movement that way it's either on or off.

      It's intended to be a digital joystick, that's what the arcades had and that's what the games were programmed for.

    • @Zuggy
      @Zuggy 5 років тому +6

      @Lassi Kinnunen Hell, a single surface mount 5 way tactile switch from Sparkfun is only $2 and the Neo Geo Pocket/Pocket Color used a 4 way tactile switch instead of a D-Pad in the late 90s.
      The additional cost would've been low enough that they probably wouldn't have needed to up the cost or if they wanted to maintain the same per unit profit margin maybe bump the price $5-$10. I have no idea why anyone would defend SNK's decision here.

    • @Zuggy
      @Zuggy 5 років тому +4

      @@sams6090 That's exactly what those games were designed for. If you ever play an actual Neo Geo MVS cabinet you'll find the stick uses tactile switches. That's why if you buy say, a Sanwa kit, the stick has tactile switches and not an analog stick.

    Hey man I've really missed seeing you make stuff! This was a real treat.
    The Ben Heck Show seemed to slowly sap your enthusiasm for what you were doing, and now that you've stepped away from that situation I hope you've been able to simply enjoy "making" again.
    I think I speak for all us internet strangers who love your videos when I say I hope you continue to give us these glimpses of the cool stuff you decide to create.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Hey, thanks for yacht-rock, had no idea it was a whole genre and now that I'm a dad I can listen with impunity. The build was great as always, really missed these while you were away, hope you're well

    This is what it should have been! Makes me so happy. Now I really want to see Ben put a working screen and system into the Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI kit.

    Very nice to see you're making videos again! And might I be so bold as to say it's extremely refreshing without background music, transitions and in-video ads? Great stuff! :-)

    Great video! It's actually pretty cool to see you working with your own tools and stuff, which brings it closer to the type of things I can get access to.

    I was SO glad to find your personal channel! I stopped watching Element14 after you left because these are the kinds of videos that I wanted to see. It's amazing how you take consoles and computers and turn them into handhelds. Please keep doing this!

    Please do more videos!!! There isnt anyone across you-tube who does diy tech videos quite like you. Even if you dont have as big of a budget or resources as on the ben heck show, its still great to see more of these types of videos put out!

    So glad to see you back with this type of content! I absolutely love it. Have you thought about making your STL files public if people want to try making one similar? I don't have those Autodesk skills at all.

    So nice to see a video like this. Just another 23 minutes of solid content.
    I'll gladly take a project like this now and then, over some death march schedule full of padding and compromises for time constraints.

    Yes, please! For the love of God, please do more super cool conversions like this!
    Secondly, these companies need to contract you for compact development. You're a super awesome at this. Hopefully Nintendo can hire you for maybe a gameboy mini packed with 50+ games since the anniversary is coming up for this as well.
