I'm surprised too, I thought Bandicoot Crashncoco would be more of a subtle, coming-to-the-town-and-fighting-for-40-minutes-better-than-Endgame sort of thing. Yknow, a small thing that us fans can enjoy.
The issue is that Black Widow, Falcon and Winter Soldier , AND Eternals were supposed to come out before WandaVision. But the release dates got rearranged. So it went from a little personal series for Wanda/Vision to being the big first release of phase 4 and all the theories are riding on it.
I don't understand the criticism Wandavision has been getting, the moment John Krasinski flew into Westview in his X-wing to take out Hayward's goons was unbelievable!

We've already gotten the director of the series, Matt Shakman, discussing a deleted scene involving Señor Scratchy turning into a demon. Plus they've discussed the fact that FX shots went right up to the last minute & could've forced more cut from the series. I'm getting the impression that the final episode was the result of numerous things: abbreviated shooting schedule due to lockdowns (that forced things to be cut); the rearrangement of the Marvel release schedule (which would affect how plot developments are revealed); the assumption that fan service was enough to make people happy (instead of fan service with actual payoff); the habit of comic book movies always devolving into boss-fight finales; Disney input; the understanding that major developments (like the main overarching story arc or the intro of mutants) are the domain of feature films, not tv shows; & the weekly schedule (which gave viewers the opportunity to have 2 months of speculation). Personally I'm fine with the weekly release & overall I loved the series. True the finale was a step down from previous episodes & ultimately didn't deliver on what I thought would happen, but I'm still happy with what we got & enjoyed it from start to finish.
I do think the main issue with the finale was just peoples' expectations. It'd been so long since we'd had a Marvel project so everyone wanted this to crack the whole universe open, and because it was mostly just a story about one powerful characters' trauma with a bit of a laser battle at the end people weren't jazzed that it didn't do all the stuff they wanted it to. If you take it for what it is rather than what you wanted it to be it's a much better time. (The royal "you", not you specifically).
I was surprised at how satisfying I found the final episode, even though there are dozens of legit criticisms of it. Theseus' Boat was one of the highlights of the whole season for me. For my personal taste, the biggest disappointment is the superficial way they dealt with (or tried to avoid) the moral and mental health questions raised about all the people in Westview. Instead of having a benediction from Monica (which I think lessened both of them), something that shows us she recognizes the weight of what she's done with no excuses being made. I'll love her even more, and maybe I'll be scared of her, too.
One point I've thought about that you posted within is the film vs. series domain. It was infuriating to see people actually upset (and in doing so critiquing without good faith) that John fucking Krasinksi didn't have a cameo. Like, are you serious? lol You don't drop the tone of THE most popular characters in Marvel comics in a random episode of a Scarlet Witch limited series. Disney knows this. This also applies to Mephisto and Dr. Strange. Do people really get all bent out of shape because the villain they theorized didn't make an appearance? Give me a break and save that stuff for the films. Cute little cameos like Evan Peters was awesome yet in this domain of the show.

At least based on the movies, Captain America's and Thor's action scenes are more physical and easy to follow. Expecting that Falcon and Winter Soldier and Loki will probably follow those trends, which would have made the laser sky battle look worse.

As amazing as WandaVision was - and it was amazing - there were so many opportunities missed in this show. We now know that Dr. Strange was absolutely supposed to be in the series, that the commercials were designed to be Dr. Strange's attempts to contact Wanda being 'interpreted' by the Hex, that he was actually supposed to be the pharmacist in the final 'Nexium' commercial and that he was intended to show up in the finale as well. Despite Benedict Cumberbatch being contracted to appear in the show it was decided in the ninth hour to not have him appear because, despite the fact that fans would have loved it and it would have made much more sense continuity-wise, the powers that be thought that it would somehow lessen Wanda's story having him make a cameo. There were also supposed to be some references or scenes showing Monica going through therapy after her mother's death, trying to work through the loss. It's a shame that they didn't show that because it would have made so much more sense when Monica repeatedly empathized with Wanda's rather extreme actions and trying to connect with her through their shared grief. The finale was also supposed to include a lot more, including Darcy actually doing more than making a quick cameo and a whole fight involving Ralph Bohner, Senor Scratchy and Monica Rambeau - from what I understand that was a victim of Covid-19 more than anything. It really is a shame that we didn't get to see all of this - each of these scenes would only have enhanced the show, and with mostly 22 minute episodes there would have been more than enough space for increased run time.
I think shows like this should follow the old toonami release schedule and have an episode Monday through Friday for 2 weeks. Avoiding spoilers week to week is just exhausting.
I really liked WandaVision overall. Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen did an amazing job, but the last episode did leave a little bit to be desired. I agree with James and Maso that the earlier episodes were more impressive.

When I first watched the show last Friday I did feel a little… Wanting… For lack of a better word that having not having major reveals. But I went back in an hour later and liked it immensely. I think we all just got out expectations up way too high
Defibrillating asystole. It drove me especially crazy in Dr. Strange when they have the scene where they describe pericardial tamponade and are pretty accurate with that. I was kind of excited because I know what that is! Then she defibrillates asystole.
@@terryhinch HahahahaYes! They do it literally every single time you see a resuscitation scene in a movie every single time! Also when they just spit out any medical word out to sound smart. There is a scene in The Dark Knight where a guy in lock up faints and when the medic finds an abnormal growth on the abdomen he says, "It's some sort of a...contusion." They also like shouting "they're in shock!!!!", when the patient has no signs of shock.
The most egregious example of 'empty cup' syndrome I can recall is the opening scene of Captain America: Civil War. Wanda tapping an obviously empty sweetener packet into an obviously empty cup, stirring the obviously empty cup and finally drinking from the obviously empty cup, cutting so late you can see the interior of the obviously empty cup being obviously empty. A minor grievance I know - maybe they intended to CG some fancy liquid and forgot, or just couldn't decide what Wanda would be drinking. Why they chose to focus on the cup the entire time is maddening to me, and once seen cannot be unseen.
Regarding Fan Theories, I think there is a legitimate reason why people went crazy towards the end. 1. Evan Peters - Quick Silver, Mutant & X-Men The Show chose not to implement a single one of those attributes. 2. Demon Children - Comics Storyline is relevant to Mephisto and X-Men The Show selectively chose to implement some elements and ignore most others. 3. Wanda & Dr. Strange - Officially announced by Marvel, literally has Multiverse in the Title. Wanda will go from the Show to Dr. Strange 2 but neither Strange nor Wong show up in a show regarding Magic. There is a very reasonable conclusion to be drawn from these 3 particular points. Even if you ignore the Elizabeth Olsen & Paul Bettany comments, Fans still had a very good reason for theorizing about Multiverse and Mutants. Yes! In Hindsight, NO WAY was Marvel going to introduce the Multiverse or Mutants or Fantastic 4 in their first TV Show. And we all should have kept our expectations in check. Combine these with reports about Spiderman involving Multiverse stuff & Olsen/Bettany comments, this is more a result of just the right amount of Chaos of Information being available. Finally the finale though very sweet and heartbreaking, simply wasn't up to people's expectations. Perhaps a better ending would have appeased the fans, instead of disappointing some. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON MONICA. Her entire appearance in the show was to set her up for Captain Marvel 2, Literally, if you take her out of the story the show ends up in the same place. All of this is to say that WandaVision is a solid 7/10 show, and fans shouldn't be blamed for having high expectations/theories etc. Theorizing brings the fandom together and I, strongly disagree with people who see this as an actual issue. I'm sure there are some shows out there that would love to have this level of fan interaction,.

I ended up turning off this video early because of the political talk and the Adam Carolla bashing. I don’t agree with their politics and I’m a fan of Carolla. Buuuuuuuuuut I still enjoy the show and always listen all the way from Canada. I love the boys but I just don’t feel like listening when they talk politics. Not saying they should stop, and even as I type this I am starting to wonder why I’m saying this at all. I guess my point is that people are different and we should look at that truth as being positive. PS. Please read this in a Canadian accent. Any one will do.

10 mins to midnight, cutting it fine lads! Only jesting of course, always good to hear you guys.
7:00 "But I was holding up a mirror"
The first 3 episodes of wandavision was ment to air in a single block but covid (Fatman Beyond had Matt Shakman on and it was great)
oh dude thoughtslime got name-dropped at 54:51, that's really cool
hayward was arrested because he broke the sokovia accords when he built double vision. vision is an aspect of ultron and making ultrons is illegal now.
i'm pretty sure making Ultrons was always illegal.
What's the lesson kids?

Remember when the Sarcastic Clerk from the Simpsons described the mystery writing methodology of JD McGregor, the most intelligent hamster in the shop. "Well, he gets the ending first and then works backwards."
A lot of these mystery box shows could learn a LOT from that hamster.
23:13 The full title is "Smoke Become Fire, Fire Meet Gasoline," in which Max Lord uses Captain Caveman's wish to burn Steppenwolf's army to cinders.
I'm not admitting that I play this podcast when I should be paying attention to my college courses, but I'm not not admitting that i play this podcast when I should be paying should be paying attention.
We all do it. As long as you find an easy way to cheat your exams, you’ll be fine.
That bit about Doctor Strange beating up Agatha is the hardest this podcast has made me laugh.
Guys you got it backwards lol, A Quiet Place moved up from Seattle to May 28th, Memorial day.
I wonder if having an intermission increases the likely hood of the audience to buy more refreshments. I know James could use an intermission cause he can’t seem to hold it til the end. Doesn’t help that movies are so long now.
The biggest surprise of WandaVision was when It was revealed to be a ChuckleVision spin off
To me
@Noah Caldwell-Gervais is incredible!!! Been a big fan for a while.
I can't believe RM Brown got a shout-out in this episode. Didn't know anyone else watched him. Good comedy.
52:40 "Money can be exchanged for good and services."
The director has said that the first 3 episodes were meant to be released as a block but the pandemic messed with the production schedule so much they weren't ready in time.
The commentary tracks for The Venture Bros are pretty great.
Best in-character commentary: Bubba Ho Tep, Bruce Campbell as Elvis.
dark scarlet pheonix witch feat. visions
"My broken boy" might be what plays in a scene showing what joker did to robin?
Look how they broke my boy
Have you fancy chaps seen the leaked Snyder Cut footage? Absolutely ridiculous, straight GOOFIN'
Shaun released a two-hour video on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings a couple of weeks ago. And the guy from Thought Slime also runs a youtube channel about horror movies called Scaredy Cats which is well worth a look if you like his stuff
Speaking of babies in movies the whole giving birth in a movie or show and they had over a perfectly clean baby that is like 25 lbs and 4 or 5 years old.
02:04, if they can't top themselves, they'd be like Zemo at the end of "Captain America; Civil War".
1:11:29 the Hex that wanda put up could easily be a metaphor for how we were quarantine in our own little bubble
The show was written years ago, so that seems unlikely.
I think it is a big revelation that Vision is back because how will the Avengers react to their dead friend just being back out there expect looking all spectral and having no emotion 😂
Hayward violated Visions will. He didn't want to be used as a weapon. Think that's why he went to jail.
And he violated The Sokovian(?) Accords
He also opened fire on children, falsified government records by editing the CCTV footage of Wanda visiting Vision’s corpse and meddled in a federal agents mission by capturing Woo
White Vision was a surprise to me
The official married couple's lady had a similar story to me integrating the boys in my life! I too refer to them as 'the boys' to my boyfriend, who will happily listen whenever I listen with him around.
We must get Adam Corolla back to work. Everyone's scared! #GetBacktoWorkAdamCorolla
Love the intro theme, very rude and good.
43:28 HE SHOT AT KIDS!
Amy, if you see this, that poem was spectacular
Into the spider-verse had someone shoot someone with a gun so I think space jam can do the matrix scene?
Mate I've been waiting for this video for like an hour
I love how mad The Snyder Cut is driving James.
if the Souls stones magic is yellow, and wandas magic is red why does white vision shoot blue lasers from his head?
Humpty Dumpty was a defense cannon that fell and broke
Transformers age of extinction I remember a photo of "younger" mark wallberg where they literally just gave him a backwards baseball cap
Simpson's and futurama have great commentary
I really liked WandaVision overall. Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen did an amazing job, but the last episode did leave a little bit to be desired. I agree with James and Maso that the earlier episodes were more impressive.
The dvd release of the Veggie Tales Jonah movie has commentary from all the vegetables and the tomato
Yeah I just seen a still image from Space Jam 2 and they’re no longer flat cartoons it’s all CGI which was an obvious tbf, I loveddd the first one it was one of the first movies I watched, I don’t know how I feel about this second one I’m not gonna lie 😅 we’ll see
I need that Agatha vs doctor Strange bit animated
Some Like It Hot really holds up.
The audacity WB has to name a character LG Rhythm being that it is a phone and the most blatant product placement I’ve ever seen and is ridiculous on so many levels.
When I first watched the show last Friday I did feel a little… Wanting… For lack of a better word that having not having major reveals. But I went back in an hour later and liked it immensely. I think we all just got out expectations up way too high
Hayward broke the sokovia accords
🎶 One day Mr Sunday will come,
To bring us our comic movies and news about MK 2021 🎶 that's all I have for the sea shanty
The security footage thing always takes me out of a movie too. Medical "professionals" in movies/tv doing terrible CPR always takes me out of it.
Hate to break it to you, but A Quiet Place Part II moved from September 17 to May 28, not the other way around. Sorry, mates!
On TV and movies, people never say goodbye before handing up the phone. It's become a real joke between my friends nd I because it's so consistent.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT MASO WATCHED THOUGH SLIME!!!! I AM NOW OFFICIALLY IN LOVE.
Pop pop popping!
1. Evan Peters - Quick Silver, Mutant & X-Men
The Show chose not to implement a single one of those attributes.
2. Demon Children - Comics Storyline is relevant to Mephisto and X-Men
The Show selectively chose to implement some elements and ignore most others.
But why didn’t strange turn up?
I love the part where y'all talk about your UA-cam video watches! Id love to hear more! Although i said trump was racist in one of your comment sections and got a bunch of people crying and calling me a lib so be careful i guess lol
I am so happy someone hates Adam Corolla as much as I do for the exact same reason.
Can you imagine being so jealous that Jimmy Kimmel is much more successful and talented than you and it bothers you so much that the only time you get attention is when you say something shitty and wrong? That's Adam Corolla every day.
Thats my only issue with moving forward after this and Endgame if Wanda wants to change reality to her whim like Mason is saying, we just did this with Thanos and yeah it is different but it’s still similar 🤷🏽♂️
Y’all should do camera visuals of you both
Gave it a like!
