I do not write comments, but I see the passion you have for framework thinking and these videos are so real and invaluable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I look forward to incorporating these ideas into my life.

Interesting connection with Einstein's quote. It mirrors a quote by Francis Schaeffer. He said, 'If I have only an hour with someone, I will spend the first fifty-five minutes asking questions and finding out what is troubling their heart and mind, and then in the last five minutes I will share something of the truth.' " Perhaps he borrowed that idea from Einstein and applied it to worldview thinking.

love the idea - something so hard to do but when it happens it feels like magic! Thank you for sharing this!! That's going into my vault :)

Love this video! Especially the specific topic ❤ Janet Wolff's book The Social Production of Art was the first book that complicated the idea of "genius" for me. And Walter Isaacson's The Innovators also helped me grapple with the idea of the individual genius vs the social production of what geniuses seem to do.

    Thoughts:
Slow V Fast reading is silly.
Reading is a manifold skill thus can be done fast and slow at the same time...
Thinking while reading is still reading.
I would say thinking more or less about communicated information rather than fast V slow
Ideas in head starting to connect - I think it happens before they are in Obsidian
How is this graph used when writing/thinking - seems very broad (I find specifics more useful)

Thank You! You clearly explained a question I have been thinking about: slow reading. We really do need to take the time to reflect on what we are reading and make connections. Makes me wonder if slow reading helps us make connections by using left and right thinking, .... I have to make a not of that idea.

Fantastic content, Vicky-thank you so much for sharing! I have one question: Why do you prefer to establish backward connections instead of forward connections in Obsidian?

Hi Vicky, great video with insight and practical tips. It looks like the ideas you have generated from the book are individual notes (atomic) rather than part of a single note covering all ideas from the book. Is that correct? Why do you do it that way and not as a single note? How do you link the atomic ideas back to the book (potentially as a reference)? Also do you partially or in whole duplicate ideas in atomic notes and then as part of a book summary? Keep up the videos! Thanks for your hard work and passion.

Same question here as well. My workflow for book summaries is one literature note with all the book ideas. Of course I’m missing the beautiful graph connections ;-) Is this an either-or case, or could I combine both approaches somehow? I have to think about it...

Great video, very enlightening, but I have a question: why do you have "depth" on your relationship graph

Haven't you checked excalibrain? In my opinion is more customizable than the graph view. Amazing vid btw 💯

I’m not a genius in knowing about inflation but I do know is that inflation is the decrease of purchasing power within a currency. And a rise of worth and demand for real sound assets like precious metals. But I think more people started reading fast because more people read online than the hard cover books. When u read hard cover books it allows you to focus on that book that u are reading.Where as if u are reading online u may have other pages open on your phone or computer and you maybe more tempted to get distracted easier rather than staying focused.

Definitely easier to put an audiobook on 2x speed than a hard cover book in front of me!!

Speed reading is the fuel that keeps the self improvement genre running and consuming. Speed reading sort of works if we are picking up a 350 page book and looking for to do's and checklists. That's it. It not any good beyond that

It's definitely got its merits but just depends on if those merits align with what you want to do

wouldint this technique be more effective if handwritten using imagery in place of words and done on an infinite canvas?

Speed-reading has been around way longer than the internet. But it is not the same as reading fast. It is a method to increase reading speed with comprehension. Imagine reading 700 to 1000 words a minute with the same or greater comprehension.
Stopping to write notes would slow down the overall process for anyone. But you can still speed-read.
So, say you read 250 wpm for recreation. And 175wpm for understanding. When you pause to write notes, your time with the book increases.
But if you read for understanding at 600wpm and pause for notes, your time with the book is much less.
    Speed-readers can do that.
