The Jabbawockeez will forever be big bro and the Kinjaz lil bro, so there's no need for there to be beef. True dance fans that have followed them both love them equally for their own unique styles and contribution to the culture.
I’ve known the Jabbaz LONG before they even became the Jabbawockeez. Them and the Kinjaz have an obviously different upbringing and both crews’s style and approach is entirely different with hints of similarities. People need to stop comparing the two, honestly. They’re both dope, and should be appreciated for what they do. If you’ve been around long enough, the Jabbaz style stems from a NorCal/Bay Area bboy style from the early 90s. The Kinjaz are more closely similar to the crew, Kaba Modern, from the same period, which was more a SoCal style. Some will disagree, but that’s fine. Let’s all agree that Cali produces the best of the best!
The thing he said about when the mass knows enough about dancing to actually appreciate the professionals is so true. My sisters like to do tik tok dances, my friends too, but dancing good and merely dancing is different. They see a move and mimic it but it doesn't translate well with their body. I danced traditionally and modern fusion since I was in kindergarten, and I did Latin ballroom dancing through college, I am not even close to being a pro but I have technique, when I see my friends or my sisters, when I say that's not how they did that move, and they're like ' yes it is', but it's completely different. They literally do not see the difference in their movement. And it wasn't until I showed them how the dancers actually moved compared to how they move by doing it myself is when they notice the difference. You really do have to come up the level to appreciate the pros because only then you know how hard it is to do a certain move and make it look a certain way. Wow, that is such an amazing way to look at things!!!!
But I really don't like how some tiktok dancers are seen as "actual dancers" or "professional dancers". It bothers me, especially when all the dancer do is body rolls and woahs. Real dancers that dance on tiktok with actual choreography tho, that's different cause THAT'S dance and I appreciate that.
@@plip5489 I never said tiktok dancers are actual professional dancers. And i dont think they are considered professional dancers. However, tiktok does make it more accessible for people who want to dance for fun as a medium. Unless it is a tiktok user that are made by actual dancers.
So what Anthony was saying is that just like basketball, football etc kids grow up playing with these things and learning about them. shooting the basketball, dribbling it, throwing the football so on. it’ll be the same for dance more kids are gradually learning to dance through TikTok and as they learn they’ll see what is takes to be on a pro level. the talent, the skill etc. the same way kids see how much it takes to get to the nba or nfl it’ll be the same for dance and that’s when dance will truly become a figurehead in the entertainment industry. We see how easy it is to get views on TikTok videos are getting millions of views and millions of likes easily of simple dances wait till the see truly great dancers
Ey, David, one of the main reasons why I like your podcast is because you get some good information from your guests' past background and plus I get yours too. A lot of other podcasts don't like the interviewer to talk about themselves, which may sound like a lowblow but, bro, that's that makes us closer to podcasts itself. Anyway, this is why I probably gravitate towards these podcasts that you do. There's a little bit of comedy and some personal shit with you and your guests. Oh yeah, and the drinking which is dope af. Keep doing what you do. I may not make sense right now cause I'm pretty faded myself but yeah bro, keep doing you bruh. Much love. Oh yeah shout out to SNOWGLOBE PERSPECTIVE. Kinjaz and Jabbawockeez are dope too. Yurrrrrrd
The Energy in this video is beyond amazing, I’m at work and it’s 6:30 and because of this video I know my day will be good thanks David for the joy keep up the grind brotha 🙏🏾
On world of dance latest's season, these tiktok famous guys came and auditioned, and did not make the cut at the very first audition - and that's what Anthony is talking about.
LMAO. Are you talking about the Williams fam? They are actually really really good dancers. Just their choreo for WOD was shit. It did look like a tiktok dance. I've seen dance class videos of them tho, they acc great dancers.
40:47 My friend and I were talking about the concept of detaching/letting go or as she puts it, "giving it up to God." Basically, learning how to deal with things and accepting that things aren't going to happen the way you expect. There's also a thing in the tarot/spiritual community called the tower moment, which is that necessary chaos to open new doors. It can happen when you're trying to hold onto something you should let go of. For example, if someone's goal was to make more money but they have a job that doesn't pay well, the tower moment could be them losing their job. Maybe they become motivated to find a new job and they find a job that pays even more. The tower moment is pretty much something shitty that happens that turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Not saying you have to go through these moments in order to achieve your goals.
Once again David delivers and Anthony as a guest is awesome. When two creative minds are together the conversation just flows. Always look forward to your podcast. Sending good vibes always 🤙🤙🤙
Hands down my favorite ep of Genius Brain . The chemistry between David & Anthony had me cracking up the whole thing. Can't wait to see these two again!

Dancing was gang affiliated back in the day. Very true in the Hmong community. Back in the 90s majority of the break dancers were gang members and fights always broke out during a battle. It was so bad our Hmong New Year celebrations banned break dancing. It got a bad rep in our community amongst the OGs.
Im from Indonesia and heard u guys talking about indomie mie goreng is just really cool for me, and u guys even trying to compare it to kinja bang noodle like bruh that's really cool.
Holy crap...an almost two hour episode but it didn’t miss a beat with me....was entertained the whole time...as a professional dancer and the comedian of the crew....not to mention the resident alcoholic....this episode basically solidified my life story....thank you David and Anthony!!!
I can relate so much to David and Anthony! Ugh it hurts, the reality, but these guys bring out true perspective and makes me accept the way things are.
When Anthony talks about general pop not understanding the talent until we start to have a natural foundation to realize the talent at 15:00 , it relates so much to everything else emerging. Look at esports now! Dance has a very bright future

Dude, Anthony you are so articulate. Great topics. Thanks, David.
I know what you mean, Anthony really thinks before he speaks and he's very thoughtful. It shows in his choreography too.
This episode was fantastic. Anthony's drunken insights are top notch.
