@AdamMerlinno no! TF2 takes place in 1960s-1970s. You can tell by the tech and also if you actually READ to the lore you could tell. I think it’s mentioned in multiple places but the wiki says it in more detail
The way you framed the Spy's death scene in contrast to the original feels so sincerely like the way his death would have been handled in a pulpy but ultimately family-friendly old action cartoon it's fantastic
Thank you - it was one of the last scenes I tackled- I knew it had to be economical (as is everything in animation, especially of this time period)- but also sell the geography of the characters without being too gruesome.
It's amazing, it looks just like the animated series of the 60s and 70s. And it seems to have almost the drawing style of a comic book from those decades.
2:09 this is the most emotional, beautiful, heartbreaking, jolly, silly, funny and most importantly shocking twist in cinematic history. Never before have i been so bewildered from all the emotions I’ve expired in just one moment. Amazing work father Jack amazing work.
What is syncro-vox? Edit: I am impatient, and syncro-vox is the addition of talking lips onto a static drawing. Never thought it was actually used, always thought it was done as a joke in like, Spongebob or something.
@@TheNinja94a Yeah, it was only ever seriously and consistently used by one company in the early '50's. They only ever made a handful of shows, most notably the jungle adventure serial "Clutch Cargo" (which this video is directly parodying). It was invented at the dawn of television cartoons, at a time when nobody yet knew whether producing show-length animation on a weekly schedule could be sustainable, and people were looking for any shortcut they could to streamline things. The company in question actually only had three employees, so it was pretty impressive on that standard.
Man I was sent back somewhere nostalgic hearing that Jonny Quest theme, like I've never even watched the show before, but I remember on Boomerang there was a bumper they'd always play ALL the time that used that theme.
Thank you so much for indulging me fellow mercs! - I just added a large master print to my shop here: www.inprnt.com/gallery/rudejackart/pov-medic/poster/
Amazing work. Feel like you really captured the style while keeping it you. I was getting big Venture Bros vibes too and then obviously the credits started ❤
This has become one of my favorite animated videos, due to the reason that it fits within the era of tf2, and because of how well done it is. Nice work!
OH MAN!!! I remember this show, I used to watch Team Fortress all the time back in the 60s, God I loved that show, Medic was always my favorite character, I remember wanting nothing more than a Team Fortress Uber Heart Surgery Kit for Christmas after watching The Sound of Medicine Episode. So cool you were able to restore this iconic piece of lost media.
Just in case anyone doesn't know but wants to, the opening song is from the original Johnny Quest, the himan mouth on still cartoon style is from Clutch Cargo, and the closing song is from the Venture Bros.

Is good
Well, they updated the game
Realistically this could have been a promotional cartoon made during the era when tf2 takes place
I mean, the intro track is literally Johnny Quest so definitely

wow! finally something to fill the venture-shaped hole in my heart.
You know the movie's out now right?
I’ve seen the movie twice and rewatched the entire series five times, but it’s still there. I think I need professional help
@@masterkrøbling9435 I'm too scared to watch the movie because I know I'll still want more afterwards

Love the period accurate use of syncro-vox. It's as weird & jarring as the real thing!
peak animation - no irony

Actually seeing TF2 characters animated in a 60s style cartoon is so incredibly satisfying. And the Venture Bros music! 10/10
I love the venture bros theme at the end, amazing touch.
This would probably what the supposed Adult Swim TF2 cartoon feel like. Great work!
This is masterful. Dare I say more so than Don't Thug Me. You really nailed the 70's feel.
It looked like it was inspired by venture bros, then i heard the outro and was hit with a wave of nostalgia, well done homie
Perfect for the TF2 update that came out, I'm ready to watch this a second time 😎
so fricking good,
it's awesome seeing how skilfuly you translate artstyles into your art projects
Oh HELL yes! I've been on a Hanna-Barbera action kick lately, so this is right up my alley.

the venture bros music at the end makes this absolutely perfect
whats insane is that I didn't have to re-time the animation at all - it literally synced up perfectly

god I love when rude does TF2 shit, his style fits this series so well
This.... ugh.... this is great. A massive tribute to Clutch Cargo in disguise as a TF2 video.
