    I love how consistent about taking the proper steps before using heat on the hair. I have been natural for about 4 yrs and I need a trim and would like a silk press but my concern is going to a stylist that does not use the proper handling techniques... anyways thanks for sharing!

    I found this all every educational. If you don't mind me asking, how do you ensure that your are no longer damaging your hair with heat? Also, what is likely to be the biggest culprit in damaging your hair with heat? The blow dryer or the flat Iron? You see I'm natural and as much as I love my kinky hair I miss having straight hair from time to time. My hair is longish and I don't want to lose my progress. But your hair looked so pretty, it's tempting.

    This routine gave me and the fried ends of my hair life . All of these products are of great investment and I will be sure to get them . but I do have a question I had a bad experience with tea tree oil what can I use instead ?

    • @Courtney-ky1gi
      @Courtney-ky1gi 8 років тому

      From my experience I'd recommend Chi Silk Infusion but it is a little pricey, $30 or so but it works really well for my hair :) If anything just use a really good thermal heat protectant (A few others I own are "Silk elements" but I'm not too fond of the smell, reminds me of my grandmas house lol and the other heat protectant I have is "Ion Heat Protecting Smoothing Spray" it can be a little greasy in my opinon). I'd personally stay away from using oils as a heat protectant.

    • @Rie_TheQueen
      @Rie_TheQueen 8 років тому

      I heard of chi products might have to check them out. Silk elements seems like the best options the only products I've known to work best on my hair is dr. miracles , profectiv, and motions

    I experienced postpartum thinning, my hair is super thick on one side and thin on the other. Although i have seen major improvement by deep conditioning treatments, I am considering a short cut. Should I continue to nurse the thin strain and keep the length or go short and start over?

    For blow drying, do you recommend using comb attachment or using paddle brush or hard rubber brush? Does one method work better than the other or does it depend on the texture of the hair as to which method is better?

    • @TheTierraJ
      @TheTierraJ  8 років тому

      +Camara Deni I think a comb attachment is the easiest method, but they all work great! I use the comb + paddle brush sometimes with myself and my clients.

    i have a question, im not really transitioning but i am stretching my perms, i havent got a perm in almost not yet a year. and i have alot of new growth but my hair at the back is natural with no straight ends and its shorter then the top where i have length and straight ends, and i dont know if i should perm my hair now, or keep stretching and continue to wear weave.

    • @TheTierraJ
      @TheTierraJ  8 років тому

      Hey love! Well personally I am pro natural lol. But it's really a personal choice. If you are wearing weaves and braids then there's really not a need for a relaxer since it"s braided up. But I say do whichever fits your lifestyle and is best for you! I will say that natural hair is the healthier option obviously because relaxers are chemicals. But you can still have healthy hair with a relaxer as well (:
