I just got this helmet brand new for $125 from my stealership. I have to wear glasses when I ride and the flip down sun visor still works! I was going to get a Shoei GT-Air II, but they didn't have any in my size. I tried this helmet on just because and man, it fits so good. I haven't been able to ride with it yet, but I can't wait to try it.
I hava issue with this icon model, when I ride in my motorcycle from 25≈30 km/h or higher, and with the Icon Optics shield closed, you can hear the noise of the air in the left ear, right where the "DropShield Switch". But if I put one finger before or over the "DropShield Switch", the noise in the left ear is muted. This issue happens with the "DropShield Switch" in any position (Up or down)
The Alliance is nearly a 20 year old helmet at this point and falling apart makes sense, since helmets are made to last for about 5-7 years until the materials start to fall victim to the elements. And that goes for any brand, not just ICON. The Airform is a solid helmet from ICON though and will definitely be an improvement over your old Alliance.
Do the cheek pads from any other Icon models fit this helmet? The airform ones are on backstock basically everywhere and they’re about impossible to find.
It has the same shield and positions as the Airmada, so it has multiple detents for multiple visor positions. There is a city position, but it's a larger gap than is found on some other helmets. We apologize that we didn't show the visor positions in the video. -DrewZilla
The Icon distributor is showing March 22 as the expected date of availability for us, so that's only a few more days. Hope this helps! (As an aside, every dealer in the US gets ICON through the same exclusive distributor, and they don't even have any yet, so I would be a little weary of anyone else claiming it's in stock). -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/icon-airform-sacrosanct-helmet
Most uncomfortable helmet I own, it feels like it is way to tight on my head but it says it is for a 58cm head and my head is maybe 56cm with long hair.
A size Large would still be the correct size for you in the Airform. Just keep in mind that the Cl-17 had an intermediate to round oval head shape whereas this Airform has an intermediate to long oval. Even though you might pick the correct size, you might still get pressure points that will not go away with break-in. I would recommend getting on a call/email with one our Gear Geeks in customer service to discuss this and figure out the best option for you! - Pat
Unfortunately, no, this helmet is not ideal for glasses. I recommend Shoei, Arai, Shark, and Scorpion. At a similar price to the Airform helmet, consider the Scorpion EXO-R420. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/scorpion-exo-r420-helmets
I know I’m late for this comment, but I’ve previously tried on the icon alliance. And with glasses on, the inside visor wouldn’t close due to my glasses. This airform, I feel is a better fit for glasses. I just picked it up today, as I could actually close the inside visor with the same glasses on.
Yes and no. The outer shield is the newer Optics shield shared with the Airmada and Airframe Pro. The Alliance GT still uses the previous-generation ProShield outer shield. However, the inner drop-down sun visors are the same between the Alliance GT, Airflite, and Airform. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/icon-optics-face-shield *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/icon-airflite-alliance-gt-inner-sun-shield
I’ve never liked those internal visors, it always feels like they come on cheaper helmets to make them seem more useful. I’d rather have a sick ass graphic if I’m getting an icon.
I was thinking the same thing. The uncloseable vents is an odd choice, paired with the gimmicky covers on the back and having only two shell sizes makes it feel like less of a bargain.
I just brought this an hour ago and it’s good to hear how it’s been built
Ride on brotha !

how is the sizing? Would you recommend going a little big or small? I'm right in the middle of the sizing chart between L and XL.
@@mct8888 I usually go L, but had to go XL on this one.
Got the same one a week ago, got the gold mirror on it, reminds me of my airframe pro on bike with head checks and view good commute helmet

Do they stay put together? I axtually have an
icon 'alliance' and it's just falling appart.

How is fogging in this helmet?? Thanks
Thanks for that nice review. Greetings from Germany
Can u do a comparison with airflite, bc i like both but not sure which i like the most
Possibly, but we generally don't do comparison videos. It's hard enough making so many individual product videos! -DrewZilla
Didn't like this helmet, I rather have a HJC i70.
Also... what Is the story with the eagle mask? Thanks!

Do the cheek pads from any other Icon models fit this helmet? The airform ones are on backstock basically everywhere and they’re about impossible to find.
No, only the Airform cheek pads will work with this helmet since all their connection points are model-specific.
Im almost 100% positive the cheek pads from this airform WILL fit the airflite…just trying to confirm this. The look exactly the same
Does it have dedicated slots for headphones?
Yeah, you can see them at 4:55 of the video.
Washing instructions for the removable pads? Hot? Cold? Air dry? Dryer?

Does the airflite and airform take the same cheek pads?
No
Does this have a city visor position, or just closed/half wa/fully open? Why aren't you clearly showing the visor positions in the video?
It has the same shield and positions as the Airmada, so it has multiple detents for multiple visor positions. There is a city position, but it's a larger gap than is found on some other helmets. We apologize that we didn't show the visor positions in the video. -DrewZilla
Also, when are the sacrosanct versions shipping? They are available from a number of other vendors but not yours.

Sounds great! Thanks for the reply, got one on pre-order! 👌
You're welcome! Looks like they're coming in now! -DrewZilla

if I wear a large HJC CL-17, what size should I get in this??
A size Large would still be the correct size for you in the Airform. What size did you end up getting? I am size L in HJC as well
Does this come with a chin curtain?
It does not come with a chin curtain. -DrewZilla
No chin curtain. Weird. My old $100 S&S had a chin curtain.
Noise is realy bad 😔 venting is good tho
Whether she would be comfortable with glasses with a diopter?
Unfortunately, no, this helmet is not ideal for glasses. I recommend Shoei, Arai, Shark, and Scorpion. At a similar price to the Airform helmet, consider the Scorpion EXO-R420. -DrewZilla

So will these take the standard visors inside and out that the alliance gt helmets used?

I used to hate hearing the dude yell WATCH DECIDE AND RIDE but now it makes videos seem lacking

Seems like a bit of a downgrade from the Alliance. It's almost as if Icon's trying to cut manufacturing costs for their base level helmet.
The chin guard area makes it look cheap and ugly.
I was thinking the same thing. The uncloseable vents is an odd choice, paired with the gimmicky covers on the back and having only two shell sizes makes it feel like less of a bargain.
Can i have that helmet?
Got money?
Nah.
That shirt is dumb.
