I would love any other anecdotes you’ve got about studying with Geraldine Page! You’re my newest UA-cam acting channel fascination. Love the videos!
Thanks so much. Geraldine was so brilliant.
I just love your videos Jill. You’re so good at these.
Thanks. I appreciate that.
Jill, you are so great at this!
Thanks, Julia. It's a learning curve for sure.
Great video Jill I ready to become a movie star. And you are my agent
LOL. Why not..
The key seems to be to enjoy the struggle.
Jill I love your commentary, and insight
Thank you so much.
Awesome in site into what we love to do at many levels!! 💜🙏🏽😎
Thanks, Frank. I so appreciate your support.
If I was an actor, I would first try to create an internal dialogue for the character. This will allow one to determine the character’s emotional set point, which is the basis for his or her interaction with all other characters.
Whatever works. Each actor. has their own why of working.
Used to be, you had to have a Thompson Guide, just to get around Los Angeles. Now its all GPS.
Yes, I went out to LA in the 80s because there was a manager out there that wanted to represent me. I used that Guide daily.
Great job. Congrats. A topic which I am interested in hearing your thoughts on is the the older Actor, 60 to 70-year-old. That is, how do I know what age range I would be appropriately auditioning for - what will Casting directors see when I walk through the door.
Good question, Carlos. I have no idea what CDs think, to be honest. I know I've been cast as much younger than my actual age. I think it has to do with the way you look coupled with your energy.
Beautiful sermon on readiness and some good old fashion practical advice.
Thanks, Stephen. I appreciate the comment.
Jill, I could watch and listen to you all day! I tried to order your book on Amazon Audible ...Alexa couldn't find it! Grrrrr......
Julia Hess❤
Thanks, Julia. I took my book down because of a few reasons. I am in the process of rewriting, adding and putting the book back up. I'll keep you posted.
@jilldaltonnyc7545 Please do! I was getting excited, all set to listen to it today! I hope the Audible version is in your voice! You have a wonderful voice!
You are SO GOOD!!!
Thanks, Sally.
I miss all this so much. Jill, who would you say are the best acting teachers/environments around today?
Good question. I've been out of that loop for many years and things have really changed. Nowadays there are classes for TV/film acting, stage acting, commercials acting, how to audition classes. You need to decide what your focus is and then you can do some googling around. I studied with John Strasberg, Terry Schreiber, Geraldine Page, Vivian Matalon, and most recently Greg Sims. I really liked working with Greg Sims. His technique is very workable for me. You can google him. He does his classes on Zoom.
@@jilldaltonnyc7545 Thanks Jill. Kind of you.
OK. I misspelled. Garbo
Jill. When you moved to NYC. Did you run into Greta carbo.
Never or if I did I didn't realize it. However, I'm very good with faces and I think I would have noticed her.
