so much respect for doing these after a long day of chess mr rosen
Hardcore 💪🏻♟️
Eric's videos are so instructive! And not just about chess but he also tells us important life lessons like "don't eat poison".
Tough to imagine someone being more kind and nice than Eric.
Well played and thanks for the extra hustle after such long days. I know how exhausting it can be playing OTB for hours, but i can't imagine making a video analyzing after it at all lol
This video dropped in the nick of time - I was just about to eat poison! Thank you Eric, I owe you one!
If this is a reference, I don't get it. If it's not a reference it's just hilarious.
Edit: halfway through the video and I get it now 😂
xD
Eric stealing her water was the real ending
Loving the breakdowns Eric. Thanks for all that you do
already watched Anna's recap, it's so cool to see the same game from both perspectives
Already watched the game with Hikaru's commentary and Anna's. Was awaiting yours impatiently!
6:16
Eric: "And I really wanted to scream 'oh no, my pawn!"
Finegold: "...but then Anna said, 'no talking'."
And then later Gotham said Cramling sacrificed THE ROOK while Agadmator had us all pause the stream before Qf4
anna hyper aware of the eric rosen queen sacrifice lol
Anna's mom doing the commentary streams and both of you doing a joint recap on her channel is so goddamned wholesooome aaaah
Probably one of the most instructive games of the tournament due to the extensive commentary, recaps, and analyses on both sides. Thanks Eric, Anna and Pia, you are the best.
5:55, look at the 'O' in Round lmaooo
I'm glad I saw this live, it was awesome to see. Great game!
When I see two of my favorites battling it out together, I can only cheer for a great and entertaining game, and I think the two of you provided just that. Congrats on the win, Eric, and I hope you're having an awesome time.
not much of a battle
I watched both recaps. Fascinating and very instructive.
Great win and great recap Eric! Thanks for sharing your Reykjavik adventures. Wonder I would like to play chess there also.
I had been waiting for this recap, I really enjoy each of these recaps. I could listen to Eric all day.
Hi Eric! Traveled from Cincinnati to St Louis to visit some friends and run their marathon this past weekend. I drug my friends to the chess museum in STL after remembering you talk about it in the past. Thanks for the recommendation. Had a great time in your city!
I love your recaps Eric, definitely my favourite video format of yours
"good life lesson, don't eat poison"
Eric out here dropping some serious life tips.
Great videos Eric. I'd love to come and see this tournament live in Iceland one day
Love all the insights Eric. Thank you
I saw anna's video and was like I'm gonna wait for Eric video coz I just love the way you deliver man! ❤
Really enjoying your games and especially your post-analysis!! It really helps me when I think about what I should think in a tough position
I really like the po-ta-toesis!
I loved your appearance on Anna's twitch
I have already watched Annas Video and I am so excited to watch this game again!
16:00 I like how Anna picked up her pen hoping to record your rook move into a fork.
TWO WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Thank you, Eric.
It would be great to see more streamers playing each other!
Great game. Great analysis. Well played to both of you.
I want to see more of this game between you both, perhaps some grabs from her livestream of the Pia commentary during the key moments & the duel analysis segment. You have one Cramling left to beat OTB and I hope it happens. Nice job getting the win.
Thank you Eric for sharing, superb positional game! Congrats and sleep good :)
I wanted to wait for Eric’s recap but Anna’s and Hikaru’s recaps both came out yesterday and I had to find out and watched theirs, so Eric unwittingly sharing the UA-camr love with the timing on this one
Well done Eric. You’re the best!
she saw the queen sacrifice and didnt want that heat! nice playing mr rosen!
Pretty crazy that Eric was at basically an hour and Anna was at basically a minute.
I looked also on collab recap on Anna´s twitch right after the game. Also interesting.
5:54
Who noticed it? (top left corner)
I was just looking at the screen, listening to the calming voice of Eric, and then he appears out of nowhere :D
I noticed it in one of his videos and forgot about it the next moment. But the Jonathan Schrantz video brought back memories ;)
Go Eric!
I’d like to see you play a series against Anna after the tournament.
Great game
"So the pawn is poison, and it's a very important lesson in life, don't eat poison"
LMAO that was a deep thought
she asked the boy all the questions i couldn't answer at 12, but it be a huge complement , asking if he would like to be a grand master whilst being able to compete with one, love your content keep up the good work, and best of luck son
"A very wise lesson, dont eat poison"😂
Congrats
I still remember her recap somewhat, so this was interesting.
Thx Eric.
Very solid ending. Something I should consider more in mine, always blundering away through "tactics" lol
**TWO OF MY VERY FAVORITES!!!**
Love is in the Air
No way! Im so happy of this crossover!
Good job 😊
lol @ the thumnail response
thanks for everythiiiiiiing
I just watched her recap.
@AnnaCrammling @EricRosen Watched this after watching Anna's review of the game (I follow Anna). Truly amazing game. Two terrific players, both decent and kind individuals. Both! Top caliber chess game. Very special. For sure.
Two of my fav chess ppl...
Is that DGT board y’all are playing on better than the thick older Bluetooth one?
love you eric
wow recording the vids at 2am, so dedicated, perhaps some of Levy's robot powers have transfered to you.
Don’t eat poison
-eric
No more DRAWS Forbidden
wait why is no one talking about the way Eric holds a pen
It's tough being a lefty writing left-to-right. In the normal position the hand immediately smudges the writing.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
GG
Hikaru reviewed your game and he really appreciated you.❤🎉
"oh no my Queen" hope this isn't one of those episodes.
6:28 But Janet Jackson told me that the best things in life *are* free.
Nice commentary. I have noticed that Anna does not look into the options for ignoring her opponents threats quite enough and tends to sometimes make a defensive move where a bit of extra thought would find a good move that sharpens the game to her advantage. I was taught this concept at 12 by the first strong IM I beat, where when analyzing after the game whenever I made a threat he would ask "Can I ignore the threat?". Unfortunately, playing at modern speed controls can lead to some overly conservative moves, in general.
she’s outclassed here
@@rooksman64 For the sake of equal treatment. I have noticed that given the choice between positional play and attacking chess, Eric tends towards choosing unjustified attacking lines that have long term negative positional consequences. He is also attracted to candidate moves that have a simple trap in them compared to a more solid positional choice. "One-move-itus", to use a line from another great streamer. The Stafford gambit, for example, is easily refuted but his streams never show that line (hint: look at the refutation of the reverse Stafford Gambit). To be fair to both of them they are wonderful and entertaining streamers, each with their own streaming styles, that probably infects their tournament chess.
@@TomJones-tx7pb interesting however, there’s a significant skill gap between the players
@@rooksman64 I cannot measure that myself, but I accept that idea.

5:56 look at the round 5
its a mini rosen
Nice! A potatosen!
Anna is pretty good!
5:53 Round 5
14:28 Luft should be pronounced with the vowel from Could, not Cool.
I disagree. In Germany it is pronounced like Eric did.
Why There is no footage?
14:28 is luft even an english word? It's a swedish word for air. But I didnt know it excist in english as well.
Not to mention the french words for moves like rochade and en passant; and chess/Schach/dontknowwhatstheswedishname which come from the persian 'shah' (king). Chess is really multicultural :)
After Qxd4 is Bxg6 a move?
At the end of the tournament, could we see irl duck chess with other streamers?
You really seemed to be enjoying yourself at 0:51
I tough of sack the rook instead of the queen on d4 (line at 14:30)
Didn't know the chess expression 'en prise' (and neither does YT) - thanks, Eric. Searched a while for 'en prie' because of pronunciation, but managed to find it in the end guessing the meaning from the game.
Also, congrats, well played!
En passant is how it's spelled
@@aprayingatheist2378 "En prise" means that a piece can be captured; someting like "in capture" is the literal translation.
But it is all French to you... 😉
@@landsgevaer I'm pretty sure it's Spanish buddy
@@aprayingatheist2378 Next time look up what you are sure about, please. It's french.
@@landsgevaer no habla English amigo
I think Anna is underrated
But Eric is not a pushover either!
Re1+ should not lead to checkmate after Qd1. Or am I wrong there? I saw Anna mentioning it as well but it looks erroneous. She would win though a piece there if I'm not mistaken
Rxd1+, Kc2 Rc1+, Kb3 Rxd4. Not immediate checkmate, but white's down a queen and a knight for no compensation.
5:56 what's that face in the corner? 😅
Why don't you activate the eval bar?
Cramling vs. Rosen. Dina crushing GM’s. Alexandra battling back from bad spots. Hikaru from afar. This has been so enjoyable to follow. Thank you all… The people need a Stafford Gambit, though.
lol the weird face that appears for a few seconds
you stole her water bro :D
I love her, you’re ok too…😊
W
5:54 "Round 5" - Easter egg?
You looked so tired on the stream! A very nice convincing win though.
Oh, I thought it was 9 rds, then I wasn't so sure. Well - remember to at least see a little bit of Iceland while you're there. Good luck.
2 days they play 2 rounds and 5 days they play one round = 9 rounds
am I the only one or 0:40 there movement are synchronised?
oops wrong place :P
Why don't you post next recap fast ? I'm waiting eagerly.
My last 3 rounds of the tournament were very long and exhausting. I'll be posting the final recaps over the next few days though!
7:51 Eric wins after playing h5, obviously.
You and Anna are both wrong about Re1 leading to checkmate (at 14:15), right? It's still crushing and resignable, but Qd1 Rxd1 Kc2 avoids checkmate.
The rook covers c2, Rxd1 is mate
@@johnvonkerman no, not Qc1. Qd1. Stockfish agrees with me - this position isn't mate.
she likes you bro.. i can tell by the way she looks at you on a video i saw earlier when she played a game next to you 🙏
Who else caught potato Eric?
