The two nicest and most polite chess streamers get paired together! The best of luck to both of you!
Damn, this Granpa plays like he's a young prodigy looking for blood and checkmates! Wish good health for him!
He's a little past his prime now.
There s many older players that just throw pawns like madmen in my experience
@@andrew_owens7680 the prime of your skill is only compared to yourself. Look at Magnus, he isnt in his prime anymore but it is still better than everyone else's prime. ( At this time), so he still stayed no. 1.
I know people like to argue and I know people will say Magnus is better than ever. My response to that is, take it up with Magnus because he believes differently.
@@SINQUEFIELD83 I'm a victim of youtube autoplay! I was intending to comment on agadmator post on a game Anderson v Dufresne. Adolf Anderson is past HIS prime. This guy in the game above, not so much. That isn't the sort of thing I'd usually say about a living person, much less one that defeated Eric so well. Cheers.
He was definitely cheating
You travelled all the way to Iceland to play Anna cramling. The UA-cam open 😁
Respect to FM Gregory Markzon for his London takedown
Levy said on stream that Gregory was a "coach" of his when he was 12 for a few months. Coach in quotes because Levy said he never did any of the homework he was supposed to do. It's about 25 min into his latest stream.
What a fantastic game! I'm sad you lost, but your analysis was a joy to watch even though it's nearly 2am in Cali! Good luck with Anna!
What a fantastic comment! Highlighted by UA-cam and spoils the result 😒
Spoiler alert 😡😡😡
wow! imagine being 73 years old and beating young IMs in classical chess
Fun fact, Eric and Anna are playing right now as I happily discovered, tune in to Anna's twitch.
goog luck againt Anna!
I just noticed you are left-handed at 0:50. Never knew.
You and Anna should do a recap together!
They did
@@NotQuiteFirst where?
@@jamesreed422 on Anna's Twitch stream of the game. Anna's mum commentated it, then when the game was over Anna and Eric did a live analysis together
I seen Anna's game first then came to your channel for the first time and subscribed. That older fellow still has a keen mind.
Whenever I watch a new Eric Rosen video it inspires me to go lose a couple games on lichess
I keep hearing about lichess. Is it really better than the official chess app? I have been playing on the chess app for 4 years but if lichess is better I’ll give it a try.
Looking forward to Rosen vs. Cramling.
I love the fact that it is possible to draw a lost position even if your down like that. It takes a lot of chess power to even move forward. I would love to see a rematch with Greg.
This is definately a fun tournament, the chess celebrity open.
Chess Principles on fine display here. Centah and Development.
Such a beautiful game
2248 "I don't think the tournament organizers have that sort of sense of humor." Eric roasted the tournament organizers calmly
Nice reply to the London. You were worse by move 10! -1.5. Guess that gambit is pretty strong if accepted.
Eric vs. Anna!!
GG! Moral of the story. Don't let enemy pawns into your camp unless they are tied up.
Damn! Killer aggressive playing, very entertaining
Moses crossing the Red sea is very fitting with Passover coming up lol
Disappointing that Eric isn't doing particularly well this tournament. Glad he's enjoying himself at least. The Swiss System is so brutal to play in.
For so long, I was looking at the idea of e5 to deny the bishop, wondering if it was a good move.
Then when Eric plays it, it loses him the game
welp maybe it wasn't always a losing move, but it definitely was there 😔
EDIT: after analyzing the position at 8:22 where he proposes the idea, it's the best move on the engine line after Bxc4, dxc4 Qd6, b4 (instead of Qa2) d3, Qd2 Rbd8, THEN e5 is the best move
respect to gregory markzon for being my chess teacher
Awesome game!
I wonder how Anna Cramling feels about being Eric's "special prize".
is trading pieces always a good idea, also if you "have to win" (with +300 Elo difference) ?
His last name has to be Stafford guys. My last name is blunder.
*is
@@dominikhennerbichleroops.
@@dominikhennerbichler I even blunder when it comes to spelling or typing in this instance.
lol. I had to laugh, I identified the threat.. haha.. oh yeah you did, he was in your face the entire ride.. GG
Greetings as well from Reykjavik, if you and Anna want to go for beer these days, I am buying first round 😁 good luck in tournament and have a cool stay here
show no mercy to Anna
Moses pulls a Leeroy Jenkins into white’s home rank.
Oh I'm super early! GL HF Eric!
What if Na5 at 8:10 instead of f4? Defends b3 and threatens a fork on c6
Your opponent played a beautiful game, what can you do?
I agree! Eric got it handed to him. And through the whole analysis, Eric talks as if things are going ok, and that he had chances. His challenger dominated from start to finish. Eric was taken deep into the forest.
Hello 👋👋
recap collab?
8:48 is there a reason why not Pb4?
(instead of Qa2)
Because white threatens to push his pawn with tempo on the queen both moves will loose qa2 and pb4 eventually
Jesus Christmas, what was the prize?
A date with Anna Cramling.
d-pawns never promote, except when they do : (
Great moves by old man guy awesome Moses parting the red sea. Scrambling was able to play the worst players i wonder how. Now she is playing real deal buddy see how that goes unless she cheats is impossible for her to win
Why do you move the pieces and write with your left hand?
Why does it matter
@@456death654 Does anything matter?
I am not chess player, why Erick got prize, not Gregory. Gregory won?
My prize was to get a game with Anna Cramling in the following round :)
This guy really played a great game. I always liked loosing to a player playing really well. But most of the time i was my biggest enemy, damn brain. 🤭
What was the special prize?
Anna
hello
you are my special prize :)
Hi Jonathan!
Hi!
yo
🤔 respect your elders 😂
What's the special prize? Is the title intended to be an April Fool's joke?
Nice game/analysis. (Re. 9:10 and BTW, in the absence of evidence, "moses" was a fictional character and there was no parting of the Red Sea.)
Moses was a fictional character was such a fool notion. There are thousands of Hebrew manuscripts, with their confirmation by the Septuagint (the earliest extant Greek translation of the Old Testament from the original Hebrew) and the numerous other cross-checks from outside and inside the text provide overwhelming support for the reliability of the Old Testament. Please read a little bit about the bible before you make such a blanket statement.
@@BM-hj6lq Re. _"There are thousands of Hebrew manuscripts,"_ and not one of them is an account by someone with firsthand experience of "moses" or his supposed actions or words. They are all inherited descriptions of what people _believe_ happened. Still, if you believe otherwise, it should be easy for you to link to relevant text in just one of those thousands of documents to prove what you say? Be careful about going down this path because you might just find out that I've read a great deal more about the buy-bull than you are guessing (including the book itself).
@@BM-hj6lq How are you going finding just one of the thousands of Hebrew manuscripts that definitely proves that "moses" was a real person and that the events attributed to him in the buy-bull actually happened? In the absence of (at least) one, it does become obvious that your "overwhelming support for the reliability of the old testament" isn't quite what you have tried to lead us to believe.
First!
Wow! Loved seeing Gregory's be so interesting and aggressive. Just think how terrifying you will be at 73!
When Methuselah goes all Moses on you, you're headed for a loss of Biblical proportions...
6:38 Surely FIDE has regulations preventing this?
Lol
Wow, Markzon was incredibly resourceful. He still has got the moves!

I don't know who to cheer for! You and Anna are my favorite chess streamers ❤
When they have fun, everybody wins :)
craming or rudolf
I have never seen someone play like Mr. Markzon did, ignoring basic principles and playing subtle, beautiful chess. This is a game I’ll study
Seeing you play these tournaments is my favorite chess content on UA-cam!
Yesterday Eric was 80 and stressed
Love these recaps. Keep it up!!!!!
What a cool game. Very interesting positions.
loving this series so so much
Anna Cramling - very distracting
OLD MAN STRENGTH BABY!!!!LOL
9:51 This is the top tier chess content I subscribed for.
Tomorrow "Game of the Year" against Anna! Good luck. 😍
Gramps whooped that ass.
I had arguments with people on lichess cuz they kept on trying to say Eric should resign
watching your game against Anna, it's move 5. go eric! (but stay there)
TL;DW Eric won the fuck around and found out award.
Don't worry, your oppenent was way more experienced.
Excellent timing I just finished the round 3 recap!
the most pleasant chess streamer , thx for your content!
How about a joint-recap with Anna?
How I am supposed to learn chess? A lot of moves Eric says were good Stockfish says the opposite and vice versa.
He's analysing from the human and practical point of view...tournamet chess is basically a fight, with lots of mistakes and emotions involved...the engine evaluate with his perfect tactical strenght, but not even super GM's play like an engine all the time...if you want to learn and improve at chess, listen to what Masters says...the engine is a tool that helps us to find the most precise move in complicated positions, and discover hidden tactical posibilities...but that is after the game, real chess is what Masters play
Anna wants to avenge the blood feud!
Wow, what a game by the gentleman!
Hey eric can you post PGN links after each game thanks
The link to the games is in the description
He just destroyed you xd
got to catch the ana game live!
