Honestly if you read the Isle of the lost you’d know that they both had dreams about each other. I think that is exactly why he picked Mal to come to Auradon along with the other VKs. The VKs weren’t even friends in the first place a mission of Amal’s brought them together in the Isle of the lost. Love this love story though. Obsessed with this whole word of the descendants.
