- Sub Zero Inflatable Kayaking - River Ouse - Aquaglide Chelan -
The Machine and I went for a paddle on the River Ouse in the recent -5c weather. It was misty and atmospheric. I wanted to try out the Hiqmar efin range and for pass through charging - I've decided to make that a seperate video and keep this one about the trip.

I really enjoyed that. Seeing my favourite bridge from the water was lovely. And the mist........
Would that be Millennium Bridge John? Or the old rail bridge?
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Millennium Bridge - so useful to be able to get from Fulford to South Bank and back. I remember in the 90s what a pain it was to have to cycle right into town to Skeldergate Bridge to cross the Ouse. AND it's shaped like a bicycle wheel... how cool is that?
@@compostjohn lol I never saw it as a bike wheel, but yes I get that. And you're right, it is a really useful 😁👍
Well Karl that’s made my weekend. Thanks for the shout out! I’d best get busy with the fender making then and await the orders!!!
Brave with the weather… stunning scenery and was that mist on the water or a dirty lens😂😂😂
Love the hat by the way👍👍👍
Dirty lens I think 😅
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner 😂😂
Great time of year to be on the water- no other b….r out there. Good one Karl.
Lol so true 👍😅
Hats off to you for going out in winter hehe your mad hehe thats so ace
We love it 😁
Lovely vid.
Love the dry suit idea.
Not braved the canals yet, let alone in the winter.
But it’s on the bucket list.
Dry suit to be purchased first though.
😊 x
Drysuits open up so many more opportunities to get out and also access areas you might not have normally thought to try :)
-5 degrees C. Impressive!
I always am 😅👍
Brilliant video Karl. My home town, driven over those bridges thousands of times. Definitely thinking of getting a kayak. A brilliant way to see things from a different perspective. Although it was a bit misty. Maybe you should've pointed it out. ATB 4 2024
Lol, I should have mentioned the mist 😅
Yes one of the great things about being on the water is seeing everything from a different perspective 👍😁
You should keep some duck food on your boat 😀
Lol indeed 😁
Looking forward to your findings with the Hiqmar in the next video, I'm really thinking about getting one.
Not sure if you've seen the first videos I did. I had issues with the battery not charging properly. On the plus side of the supplier has been great and whilst I had product issues, the supplier certainly greased the wheels so to speak 👍😁
Ey up me duck. Hope you had a good Christmas and new year. What a wonderfully peaceful and picturesque row, love it when the weather is like that.
I can confirm we couldn't see the ridge line on your camera 🤦♂️🤣
Ay a good'un me owd 🙂👍
Cheers buddy :)
Nice video!
Thank you 👍😊
The Vikings just sold slaves in York Karl and that’s no bs, trust me mate 😉 Great video as always, oh look at that mist 🤣
I wouldn't know, I wasn't there 🤪😁

After many months of watching your channel and your amusing trips out with your group I have finally taken the plunge and ordered my first inflatable kayak. I retire in April so I am hoping to get some good use out of it. I have opted for the Itiwit 2/3 person kayak which is on sale right now at £199 which seems pretty good. Maybe I could join you and your group one day to get some experience and advice from experienced kayakers. I have years of experience of RIBs and speed boats and jet skis but I have never been out in a kayak. It would be great if you could do a video on what equipment is a must have and what is nice to have. Keep up the good work.
Ey up Paul, welcome to the inflatable fan club 😁 whereabouts are you based?
Find my contact details on my YT home page, drop me your number and I'll add you to our WhatsApp group 😁👍
Based in Scunthorpe, just been looking for some local waters to practice on. We have a caravan in Cleethorpes so will be trying there in the summer once I get used to paddling :)
@@paulrichards109 we've got a couple of members your way I think. I know Grandad is based out Cleethorpes way. They're all over to be honest, from the Wirral, to the Tyne, to the East Coast and down the M1 corridor to Sleaford.
great video! we never get weather like that in Australia, so its kinda otherworldly haha. I really hope it wasnt detergent in that water, even a little bit in water will kill fish and fish eggs.
Yeah I bet it looks very different to what you're used to 😊
I'm not sure where that overflow is from, but that's what it smelt like to me.
Hi Karl, I had about 5 ad breaks on this vlog, oh and was it misty I couldn’t tell 😜
That's weird!
Yeah, I've just checked and for some reason the auto ad placement has activated rather than the one I set. Turned it off until I can sort it 👍😁
Hi that motor is very impressive, could you do a video showing how it attaches & how it works as I think it would help me with my aging disabilities to be out on the water with my gumotex a bit more thanks
Hi Graham
Yeah I really ought to do more of a demo with the Efin. I had some issues with it (see earlier videos) initially and it took several trips to get it sorted, so I've never thought to more. Thanks for the reminder 👍😁
I was thinking the exact same! I can't paddle for long at all due to many a ailment and that moter would make the difference to me getting out on the water or not in the current status..I'm about to start looking for one.
@@janeevans4758 let me know how you get on 👍😊
Your definitely a chill guy😊. That's a really atmospheric Paddle. Carols onto a good idea where. I will be down at some of your spots in the coming months. I just got a Itiwit x100 but some stitching for the stressed threads on the high pressure floor are missing so a small bulge appears ,it will be sent back. I could try again with a replacement but would value any other suggestions for any you would recommend. The cost I consider after. I watched lots of your videos enjoying them and subscibed👍.
If you're looking at solo paddling I'd seriously consider the Aquatec Ottawa amzn.to/3S4ti1Q
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Thanks I'm just having a look. I had seen one called aqua spirit 8psi floor seemed good spec for the price not one you've mentioned and looks similar to some others. Maybe have a look at yourself out of interest. Thanks.
@@chrisbamborough222 I'm familiar with it - one of my paddle group has one. They're good value however don't be seduced by all the additional goodies. Always consider the price to be for the boat alone and expect to have to replace some of the goodies, cos they are cheap value adders.
In terms of performance the Ottawa is one of the best IKs out there.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Hi I looked at the Ottawa specs as suggested and your Portage and re entry vids ,well done on that 👍and I ordered one last night. I have a Hardshell touring Kayak so I've got plenty of kit. I got an inflatable as the car loading needs two at both ends of a drive and it's not always possible and I'm getting older. I've used an inflatable before but this looks really good. It was very good you suggesting the Ottawa it's as near as possible to what I'm used to with expected performance differences. It's going to make me use it as it's easier just for a day out. Thanks again I dare say I might bump into you over this year.
@@chrisbamborough222 I'm pretty sure you'll like the Ottawa. Nevertheless, let me know how you get on 👍😁
Happy New Year! Another great video, although I’m guessing the waterways by you might be a little treacherous at the moment looking at the news. Great idea by Carol. If she decides to make them commercially you’ll definitely have to put the details on your next video. Launching from sides of canals especially can damage and scuff your boat quite badly. Top idea. What device do you use for measuring your distance and speed by the way? Keep up the good work Karl. 🫡👍🏼
Cheers Mark 👍😁
I've put Carol's Instagram deets in the description if you want to contact her 👍
I use one of these for measuring trips amzn.to/3H8CSKE
This plus my Garmin watch. The eTrex more when I'm wearing a drysuit restricting access to my watch 😁
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner thanks Karl. I did see the details in the comments after I sent my message. I’ll add her to my Instagram account. Cheers for the Amazon link etc. I’ll take a look. 👍🏻💪🏼

Next video snow 🌨️🌨️🌨️😅
Lol we hardly get any 😋😅
Is that mist on that water 😂😂😂😂
I'm not sure... It might be 😅
Karl have you used the motor on something like the Story
Only the Ottawa. I sold the Story.
This weekend gone Swan Dodger used it on the Sandbanks Explorer and it worked well 👍😊
thankyou very much, my Hiqmar will be here tomorrow and fitted to my Razor X1 dropstitch
ill keep you posted
