I love the way the team is built. Both the o-line and the d-line are the real strength of the team, and a top priority for Harbaugh, who loves having a physical team . We can already see the results of building a strong d-line that not only can rush the passer, but can stop the run, which is something we haven’t seen in a very long time. The o-line with Alt and Slater playing tackle, the running game is showing signs of life that weren’t there nearly as much when Staley was the head coach. If we can run the ball well, that will open up the passing game, and Herbert can use play-action and some RPO’s to keep the opponent’s defense guessing and on their heels. I do believe the offense will get a lot better after the players play together and build chemistry with each other. Overall I’m very excited to see the team evolve and get better moving forward. What a difference getting the right head coach makes! One last thing.. I love your shows because you are very good at breaking down the things that have happened after the game is over, what worked or didn’t work and why it went the way it did. You are also good at assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the upcoming opponent, and what the Chargers need to do to be successful and win the game. Lastly, your enthusiasm, excitement, passion, and positive attitude for the Chargers is contagious, and that’s why I never miss an episode. Keep up the good work Michael!
Jesse minter is changing life let’s fucking go bolts every excited after what I’ve seen week one a every fast defense with aggressive mindset on stopping the run, getting pressures and really good overall coverage in the secondary. Havent seen a chargers defense like this for like 4 years. Staley was really running complex schemes no one really understood and under utilizing players!! Let’s go bolts ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️!!!! Eventhough we're obviously probably beating Carolina,i love that Harbaugh mentioned how a team like Carolina feels frustrated bc of last week vs New Orleans! So hes letting his team know the mindset he expects bc trap games and this organization is REAL! A certain ex coach would've nvr!
Tony Romo pointed out that the Chargers finally have size on the interior defensive line which I totally agreed with. Staley's one gap penetrating smaller DL scheme was stupid. I remember back to the days when Ray Lewis had Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa and then Sam Adams paired with Ted Washington on some other team together. Space eating DL is something I've always wanted for this team but BRO it's taking FOUR OL to block our TWO DLinemen! I dont give a darn what the negatives are to having 2 space eating DL's the pros outweigh the cons in this case. We have 3 good Interior DL's to rotate in there and I'm excited to see how this defense keeps progressing. 3rd and 1's and 4th and 1's were always gimmes against the Chargers, if I remember correctly the Chargers stopped 3 short yardage plays with first downs to get when Antonio Pierce decided to punt the game away. This shows me that the defense was dictating the action for the opposing offense, and I don't remember the last time that has happened.
Good film. 90% of the battle is coaches putting the players into positions to be able to make plays. Harbaugh and Co are going to do great things with a Chargers team that has plenty of talent.
I feel like the defence, specifically the linebackers and edges are being coached to just full steam smash into whoever is trying to block them. We saw it in the pre season Rams game with Henley and Perryman smashing the Rams RB, and we saw it with the Tuli in this game. Just charge in, knock them back, create space and then make a play on the ball carrier.
Bolts defense reminds me of the '92-'95 Chargers defense. They had a good crew then....this crew looks legit. I know...its just 1 game. Im gonna go get shit faced now
Jessie minter runs a cubic fuckload of firezone and it simply works cause we have such versatile dudes in the second level and that man is just game planning genius, everyone knew where to be just cause this knew what front what play based on down, distance and just has calls for so many different splits and situations it's absurd, and that's why our guys just looked faster. His scheme is so in depth man you guys have to check it out, what I said is just a summed up version of it
