Hey NL, you mentioned recently on the wnaba warriors nlss that steam seems to be having a dearth of options. This can be a problem with steam labs and ai driven indie games, it can take you down into a hole and you can get stuck there. So like play lots of monster train, get tons of deck builders. Here are some games to check out based on your past history. I've tried to choose things that can change up the steam labs algorithm bit or games you may have missed. Ultrakill (skill based single played FPS, free demo, not really a roguelike but similar to tower of guns) Unfortunate Spacemen (co-op multiplayer FPS where some characters may be space monsters, may be NLSS material) Gloomwood (Stealth FPS, sort of deus ex or thief like, has a free demo) M.A.S.S. Builder (Armored Core style Mech Game, with heavy mech customization Action RPG, Free demo, but Early access is farther along then demo) Chipmonk (chipmunk golden axe) An American Werewolf in L.A (2D brawler, isn't on steam)
@@Doomroar Yeah, steamlabs and ai driven game choosing can lead you into a hole. That's why I suggested a couple indie FPSes. Try and shake things up. There is no substitute for looking stuff up yourself and sometimes you gotta shake up the AI. I highly recommend Ross Scott's (creator of Freeman's Mind which is still being made) Big Game list at his website accursed farms. He's pretty ruthless and did a stream on his accursed farms junk channel recently where he went through all 1100 games in the BLM itch bundle in 4 hours, ruthlessly culling everything down to like 20 or so worthy games. Note that he doesn't play all these games, they are just stuff that caught his eye. That's how I found chipmonk! and Werewolf in LA. I also check out giant bombs recent quick looks, and the youtube channel get indie gaming for more artsy stuff if I ever feel like these steam AI's aren't giving me anything interesting or I'm trapped in an AI hole. I don't watch all the videos usually cause no one has time for that, but I get an idea of what's out there, that I can then look up my self.
I miss playing those browser games that had one on the arrow keys and one on wasd. It reminded me of that game NL was talking about where animals kill themselves and others to progress with a certain amount of shared lives.
I know the "NL lol puzzle stumped" joke, but I do think the art style of this game makes things very confusing. The puzzle elements don't pop enough. I couldn't for the life of me see the buttons sometimes and the swinging chains blended into the background quite a bit. Would love a Kate co-op though.
Hey NL, are you gonna play that new PS Plus game called Erica? It looks like it's up your alley, it's an FMV, horror, heavy rain-esque game and it's free mah dude! Get it this month before you forget! Like this so Egg can see!
@@dontcryzanzibar alright everyone, please comment with only one shit curse word along with a substitute curse word in every freakin response. Also, please include 1 POG.
I’m pausing to write this. “How does this open” well my guess egg would be the other button on the ground. We’ll see if I’m right. Edit: Yup, eggs glasses prescription needs to be changed again so get ready for the new glasses ark... again. Edit 2: yea no NL. We were going “ha ha” before being 10 minutes in.
Your channel has been really amazing lately. The effort really shows
Been amazing for 5 years brother

The real Steam labs was in the comments all along!
@somasoda I Must have missed that stream, I watch most of the NLSS/Unity, but one can't watch everything.

Hey dude, I just wanted to say thanks for keeping the Northernlion Tries playlist updated. I love seeing these games.
Literally as soon as you said defying gravity, I started singing it. Then you mentioned Wicked and I POGGED.

Would like to watch a co-op with Kate maybe
I think, when they co op, it mostly is on Kate's channel. So maybe check that one in a while!
@@Bloxeh yeah, she hasn't uploaded much recently (for obvious reasons)
Anyone noticed the Tardis in the dirt? 11:15

The swinging chains could do with a lot more glow, they are really unnoticeable.
I think the game you're talking about at 5:11 is called Life Goes On: Done to Death
sounds like it alrite & its a great game
NL's title was way better dont @ me
heeee's done it
6:00 you are thinking of the game "life goes on" that game is really good :)
"Do it the way god intended" northernlion- 2020
"I'm trying to avoid the classic 'NL puzzle game haha'," says the man who spent several minutes not seeing a button.
this one looks super charming!

HE'S DONE IT!
The title of this game is giving my old Everquest cleric a bad case of PTSD.
Excellent teacher, does nothing but wall squats then allows a child to blow the fuck up in class.
Reminds me of Lost Vikings in some ways, except with resurrection
This would be a cool Wednesday nlss opener
Rez me plz I have raygun!
8:05 this isn't even a puzzle yet! How does he do this!?
NL sometimes reminds me of that game reviewers who couldn't bear the tutorial of cuphead (forgot his name)!! XD
Every time you kill your self to then jump on the body, must be so traumatising for the characters. "Let me just jump on my dead brother body"

It actually hurts my soul to have DFO compared to this.

POG! Or PEG, as Steely D would say.
The quotes in this one
Ryan, you have to try 5D chess with multiverse time travel on steam
This game looks cute
I somehow am reminded of the GROBIN mini-meme they did for Overwatch.
YOU *CAN* GOURD THE POG
Makes me think of the lost vikings
That game looks like it was made in RPG Maker , also I definitely think this is a two player experience .
Wow, nl would’ve totally failed a deathless run with the way he was playing this game...
I’m pogged brothers and sisters
6:50 He didn't check the up path... Well, somebody clearly never played Rockman X...
When is the Kate co-op coming?

think its just the no-whites eyes I find odd, otherwise the environments and character designs seem fine?
@@alexjones4424 For me it's the giant bobble heads and massive eyes with noodley limbs. With sub par pixel art in general makes for a creepy look.
