That 2020 team was going to win it all. DOK was so DOMINANT and couldn't be stopped, so was Dotson.
They would've won 2 of 3 had COVID not intervened. That 2020 team looked dominant

Agree. That team was dominant, healthy, and was peaking at the perfect time. Best team to never get the chance to play for a championship. Hats off to this team for acknowledging that.

Landen is an all time Jayhawk. The amount of work he put into his game over the course of his career at KU is unreal. I implore any of you to go and watch the evolution of Landen and his game. He is proof that hard work pays off even if you aren't the most naturally gifted player. His senior year we should have won it, and he was a big part of what put us in that position. Glad to see him doing well.

I had no idea Landon Lucas was a part of this show. I had noticed a bunch of videos that this channel uploaded but never clicked on any of them until this one today!
I would sub, but sadly I'm done with college bball for good after my realizations about the game and how (dis)interested I am about it due to officiating issues .... but glad to see a familiar face talking about the sport - hopefully you can do something about the officiating...............

I never lost faith in the team in this game. I was not too concerned. Most of the folks in the bar were pretty down. Not me. Three straight shots and we had a new game.
Remy Martin healthy COMPLETELY CHANGED this team.
If he was healthy all season? Jayhawks would've been the #1 overall seed. Maybe lost 2 gms at most.
All GREAT Bill Self Kansas teams featured a scoring PG who could get a bucket when we had have it.
DeJuan Harris is an outstanding TRUE PG/defensive pg/leader. But not a scoring threat but I'm confident he will WORK on his jumpshot/drives to the bucket in the off-season. Harris WILL average 11ppg nxt season.
Remy Martin was a complete difference maker. Look at all the scoring PGs we've had last 14yrs....
Mario Chalmers/Sherron Collins/TyShawn Taylor/EJ Johnson/Frank Mason/Devonte Graham & Devon Dotson.

remy was recruited from aau by self for 1 reason, to create shots and score.
Of all those seven scoring PGs? 4 of 7 made a FF. 3 of 7 played in a National Title game. 2 WON a National Title.
EJ and Jayhawks blew a 14pt lead w/ 6mins left in 2013 Sweet16. Mason lost a couple Elite8s.
Dotson would've been the PG on the "#1 overall seed" if the 2020 NCAA Tournament wasn't cancelled.

Jayhawk fans (myself included) are hoping Gradey Dick and MJ Rice adjust to college quickly and become go to scorers... I am worried where the offense will come from, despite the incoming freshmen, McCullar, and Jalen coming back. Not much create-your-own offense, which is what Remy provided... I will say that without Remy, the Jayhawks still won the Big 12 regular season and got a 1 seed. But yes, Self will need to work the Xs and Os even more, I feel like...
@@bellahoughton84 I wouldn't go that far with the GOAT of Xs and Os. Self has used the same offensive sets for years (I could describe most if not all the plays he has used in his 19 years if you want...) and while it has worked out in the regular season, March isn't so forgiving...I do agree Self is ridiculously good at making halftime adjustments. Just wish he had a little more variety when it came to offensive sets and specifically tailored to each opponent instead of using the same ones.
NC had a guy throwing up on the court in the 2nd half because they couldn't keep up with our pace. Truth be told NC never stood a chance.
The guy threw up because he was elbowed in the stomach, not because he was tired.

After watching the game I got recommended this video where I then saw your comment and wanted to correct you. Sure, Kansas outperformed UNC but it wasn’t because of physical shape and a kid getting elbowed in the stomach sure as hell wasn’t proof of that. It was because the Tar Heels couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn and Hubert Davis got out coached and didn’t make adjustments on the defensive end.

Wildcats underestimated the Peacocks, like most people in the country. They were the top defensive team in their conference and had a lot of momentum coming in the tourney. I was at the KU UK game at Allen Fieldhouse and just by watching Kentucky warm up, I could tell it would not be a good game for Kansas. Turns out it might have been a blessing in disguise... That game forced Kansas to re-evaluate how good they really were.
@@derekho7720 True, can't deny that. Ironically, Keion Brooks, who had his best game at Allen Fieldhouse has transferred out of our program. Our coach has a lot to prove at this point. I've always admired Bill Self as a coach. I don't have any hate towards KU. Congratulations on taking the top spot in wins. Quite frankly, Kentucky has to earn that back. It won't be easy unless our coach has changed his tune. We can't compete with the elite programs playing like we have lately.
@@jerrygilliland674 Yeah, Keion got whatever he wanted that day. It was hard to watch...lol. Calipari only has one title to show for all his recruiting success, so it will be interesting to see how long he lasts... It took 14 years for Self to win his 2nd, so who knows when Cal will won another...I knew KU was up there in wins but didn't realize they were top 2, at the time. I go to KU now so I am a bit embarrassed...lol.
Bill Self is not a good coach. Self doesn’t make in game adjustments and the only reason Kansas win is because Remy hit unbelievably clutch shots and the better team with the better players decided they were going to win. Self relies on talent r and talent wins that game not coaching. KU wins by 20 with a competent coach🤷🏻♂️

Seems like you don't understand then who good coaches are. Self made adjustments at half and KU executed them perfectly... When UNC adjusted, KU adjusted to those adjustments... That's what great coaches do. Self making adjustments is what allowed the team to succeed. If talent is everything, then Kentucky or Duke would win every year. Talent still needs to get coached. If you don't know what adjustments Self made at halftime, then you don't watch enough college basketball...I would tell you but you should watch first...:-)

Facts shooting 22% from 3,32% for the game Bacot was 3/13,Love 5/24,Davis 5/17,Manek 4/8 and still was up 1 with 1:40 to go. If they just shoot 38% for the game UNC wins this game easily. That's why it hurts so bad Kansas was an Ok team not great but good enough to Cut the Nets.
