Mary Henrietta, eldest daughter of King Charles I, was married to William II of Orange in 1641 at the age of nine (9). Simon Ockley (d. 1720) is one of the earliest known orientalists from the Western countries to express his strong feelings about the marriage of Aisha. There is no known criticism before this. So for 1000 years, the enemies of Islam, didn’t pick up on such a topic in order to make Islam look bad as this wasn’t something out of the ordinary.
