Ben, I've been trying to FS tailslide while skating parallel to the curb, and the minor adjustment of coming at the curb at an angle completely changed the game for me. Thanks so much for this valuable video!
The way you explained how to get into this trick, by riding at a very slight angle and using the 90 degree ollie to lock into the tail slide, that really has helped me to visualize how I will lock into this trick. I'm very excited to try this. Also, practicing it on an unwaxed curb in the form of a stall instead of a grind, thats a fantastic, low-risk, confidence building way to learn tge motion...genius.. plus it teaches you a stall you can do. Thanks Ben!
After knowing only some shuv it tricks and 180 (no flips yet but I'm close), last Monday I just found some nice stairs. So, I've started with 50-50 in place, and it was super easy. Then I tried while rolling, and then also with rolling shuv its. I did all that stuff just in one day! I didn't grind though as I think it could be hard without wax, but it's still cool to lock the board on the stair. So, I'm going to try with tail now! I bought wax today :). Just wanted to share the encouragement to anyone who needs it, as after constant skating for the last 3 years (and this is almost all my skating for a 36yo guy), I'm really starting to feel the board and some of grinds seem to be not that hard. Awesome video! Thanks for an inspiration! Why did I forget on Monday to try with FS180 and with FS180 to fakie? :D. Cheerz!
I've done them before but pretty sporadically and never very well. I should learn them, thanks for the tips, makes sense to try it on a sticky curb first and then go on from there.
Front side tail slide i have always had a hard with these mostly cuz i suck at frontside ollies Imm better at backside tail slides Still good and extreamly helpful tutorial im going to defintely try your tips on frontside tail slides
Love your vids man. I would be super stoked to learn backside tailslides and backside 5-0's. I was wondering if you could film a video of you explaining how you do them.
"riding into the curb and using your 90 to lock in" I was just thinking that my problem was I am try to turn too much and the tail is getting ahead of the nose, I realized the nose has to stay ahead to get locked in and Ben stated the same thing in a very simple way near the beginning Awesome im going to get tails tonight for sure Update: I got em in about 15 mins after this! The key was to think about both toes pointed in the same direction, towards the ledge at the same angle I approach the ledge
Are you supponera to press down the nose with the front foot, or should i just let it kind off hover? Or i have notice that i offen end up balancing only on my back foot while sliding
One of my most frustrating tricks. Crusty curb, no problem. On slicker stuff, I always catch the wheels cuz my angle is little off or my heel on top and get kicked off immediately OR like 1/20 slides like crazy giving me a heart attack.
My problem is my balance. I’ve been doing nose slides and got so good at them that my weight of my body just goes to the opposite side of my tail slide. Please help me. Even on a low curve or no speed at all my body just drags me the opposite way :/
Ben which do you find easier to hold for a long time, a frontside tail slide, or a backside nose slide? I haven't learned either of these tricks yet, just slappy back nose slides, and I was just wondering which one is easier for you to hold for several feet
I can always get in them but never could slide them that well. I Wish you or Someone went more in depth on how important it is to be completely sideways on the ledge or any tips to slide em or you'll stick everytime. skatings hard lol
This is one of the most unpredictable tricks for me. I've been skating for 13 years and this trick comes and goes. Even when I have it, I don't really have it. I can slide a little and then I lose them again. I really don't know what I have to do to fix it. The slide is never comfortable. Any tips on how to make the slide feel more comfortable and easier to hold
I would try getting into one and staying there for a while with the tip of you front foot hanging off. Try practicing different foot positions to figure out how you like to slide. I hope this helps
@@fivehourenergy6159 Thanks! I'll give it a shot. It's weird because when I feel like I give enough weight to my back foot to slide it, it doesn't slide, but then I do the opposite and it slides when I'm not expecting it. Maybe that's because of foot placement?
I have been doing that with all of my tricks and it's frustrating me landing alot of heel flips like 10 minutes later I can't land it anymore sometimes I land it all the time then the next day I can land it even one time
Thanks for this !! I’ve watched just about every video you’ve posted! You’re definitely underrated keep em up and i hope to get this good one day being that I’m 38 and started to skate again. I’m hoping my bones could keep up with me lmao
im having trouble with getting locked into the tailslide. its like a try the 90 degree ollie into it but i end up slipping off of the curb or not getting the whole rotation. any tips?
Hey man, how are you so good at keeping your back foot on the board when you Ollie? My back foot comes off quite a bit until my front foot finally levels out the board with the drag.
Ben Degros awesome, I appreciate it my man! I get in at least an hour a day or every other day in front of the house. As you know it’s tough to skate with a 10 month old lol. Keep up with the vids man. Loving them. Your very inspiring for sure!
I can't fathem how people call fs nose slide a FS nose slide when they were facing backwards but people call this a fs tail slide which seems the right way to me lol I've always hated the differences in fs and bs names
I can do like 15-17 other tricks, but I haven't done a TailSlide in like 2 years n so I decided to try it again today - but I got so angry I snapped my goddamn bored. Excuse me wtf-

Bro you are super underrated! Thanks for the tutorial and keep grinding brother
its because he doesnt have extremely edited thumbnails. unfortunately thats how youtube works, or clickbait

By far the most helpful trick tips on UA-cam
33 year old here starting to skate lightly again (don't wanna break a hip) these videos are too perfect. Keep em coming!
Glad you like them!

Broo this is like gold well laid out step by step💪🏽
Thank you for these!! Finally learned front tails!! 😎🛹👍
This is the best tutorial I’ve seen yet thank you so much Ben keep it up
Always so informative! Thanks my guy.
I really want to try these now. Your tips on boardslides were very helpful!
I've done them before but pretty sporadically and never very well. I should learn them, thanks for the tips, makes sense to try it on a sticky curb first and then go on from there.
Coming here after I learned a tail slide fakie today. Need them better. Having a popped one on transition really helped me.
My favorite teacher
So going to try this on my next skate day. It keeps raining here in the UK! Thanks for the video. Very helpful 🤘
I was looking at other tutorials about this yesterday! Yours is the best; just need it to stop raining. Maybe I’ll try on my ramp for my next video.
Can’t believe I’m barely seeing this! Thank you so much!
3:23 ... mad man skates in the rain lol good shit ben, i've been trying this trick but not approaching at an angle. I'm gonna try that
Thanks Ben been needing this tutorial
here we go again maybe if i watch this another 100 times I'll get it! I can do FS tail stalls! just gotta keep workin it
You get it now?
Looks very useful! Thanks, Ben!
Front side tail slide i have always had a hard with these mostly cuz i suck at frontside ollies
Imm better at backside tail slides
Still good and extreamly helpful tutorial im going to defintely try your tips on frontside tail slides
Guy gives the best trick tips
Now i have my front tailslide unlock thank for this video how about the backtail?
Another great vid Ben! Cheers
One of the coolest street tricks, and on transition too imo.
Great vid Ben. I am workin on it !
Love your vids man. I would be super stoked to learn backside tailslides and backside 5-0's. I was wondering if you could film a video of you explaining how you do them.
I have been procrastinating on a backside tail slide video. I already have a few filmed and waiting.

i can always turn the board going into a grind trick like when u do a frontside tailslide but i cant even fs 180 or bs 180
Are you supponera to press down the nose with the front foot, or should i just let it kind off hover? Or i have notice that i offen end up balancing only on my back foot while sliding

If you are talking about skatepark ledges I agree. They either slide too much or too little. Concrete has an even slide.
hahaha i feel it, sometimes they wanna stick and sometimes they slip sooo quick
How’s the pop on that fA board?
superrrr cool..gonna try it
My problem is my balance. I’ve been doing nose slides and got so good at them that my weight of my body just goes to the opposite side of my tail slide. Please help me. Even on a low curve or no speed at all my body just drags me the opposite way :/
Ohh and my frontside 180s are perfect. It’s just my foot is used to going the other side :/
Put this know your basic tutorials Playlist boi 😎 it's not their and it's a fab video 💪
Thanks man , really helped a lot
What board is that
Ben which do you find easier to hold for a long time, a frontside tail slide, or a backside nose slide? I haven't learned either of these tricks yet, just slappy back nose slides, and I was just wondering which one is easier for you to hold for several feet
Hi Ben, i just noticed that
your board is (always) parallel to your shoulder position, or it's just a hallucination..
I can always get in them but never could slide them that well. I Wish you or Someone went more in depth on how important it is to be completely sideways on the ledge or any tips to slide em or you'll stick everytime. skatings hard lol

Don’t you do drywall?
That was dope man, thank you for doing the tutorial. Can you do a tutorial on tre flips and frontside flips pleease.
I just filmed one for frontside flips yesterday. Coming up this week.
Are you skating on wet grip Ben? I could never do that, I’d be so bummed skating in the rain
Thank you.
Hard flex at the end with the dad sit
Thank you! 👍👍
I've been going way to slow and have no momentum to carry me into the curb
I wanna learn these on transition
Thanks for this !! I’ve watched just about every video you’ve posted! You’re definitely underrated keep em up and i hope to get this good one day being that I’m 38 and started to skate again. I’m hoping my bones could keep up with me lmao
Thank you Ben!!!!!
will try this asap thanks!
im having trouble with getting locked into the tailslide. its like a try the 90 degree ollie into it but i end up slipping off of the curb or not getting the whole rotation. any tips?
It's hard too say without actually seeing it. Maybe you could send a short video of a couple attempts on instagram. I'm just Ben Degros on instagram.
Thanks man. Shout out From Afgh. APO.
Omg I needed this
Throw em into a curb on an angle, little half kick turn out, rolling away stylin. I got slappy noseslides and front 180s let’s get down
Thanks ben! Going in at an angle makes it a lot easier to get into front tail. Good bit of info there
I will work on the smith grind one soon.
loving the content, keep it up :)
Always thought these were hella difficult but i think i got em
Hey man, how are you so good at keeping your back foot on the board when you Ollie? My back foot comes off quite a bit until my front foot finally levels out the board with the drag.
That just sounds like a more time in the saddle thing. If you practice frequently it should get better.
Ben Degros awesome, I appreciate it my man! I get in at least an hour a day or every other day in front of the house. As you know it’s tough to skate with a 10 month old lol. Keep up with the vids man. Loving them. Your very inspiring for sure!
I keep going into a board slide
perfect
What do I do if I already know how to front tail?
Sean booth like the vídeo
front tail el toro
Lol. Don't you remember my handrail capabilities from my indy 149 video?
I just realized this was a reply to Sean Booth.
Thanks for the tips bro! Haha I got sick because of how wet it is in this video I hate skating when it’s wet out
you don’t get sick from being wet.
Weren't they doing that before the ollie was invented? They used to throw their boards at the curb.
they used to do slappy tailslides maybe, kind of like a nollie tailslide with no pop
You need to do an ollie first and when your deck is over the ledge you need to shift body frontside, then move your weight on back foot and slide!!!
Thanks bro
tottaly true
That's my next trick
hes like a more wholesome descenzo
Pulled back from the way back..... but this has such a "Letterkenny" vibe.. I hope that's not a Canadian insult.....
😎🤙🏼
I can't fathem how people call fs nose slide a FS nose slide when they were facing backwards but people call this a fs tail slide which seems the right way to me lol I've always hated the differences in fs and bs names
Wheels are wheels man
If the obstacle is in front of you it’s “front side”. If it’s behind you it’s “backside”
Him: skates at wet skatepark Me: dies
Еееее, заебись, четко!
I tried to translate this but I still couldn't understand it.
@@bendegros, it means something like "fuck yeeeeah, you rock!". I don't know why he had to write it in Russian, though. BTW, thanks for the video!
hahaha
Say goodbye to your grip and the pop of your shape LOL. Dont skate in wet places guys.
I can do like 15-17 other tricks, but I haven't done a TailSlide in like 2 years n so I decided to try it again today - but I got so angry I snapped my goddamn bored. Excuse me wtf-
this one ok but but could have had little more specifics .🐒
