I think it would be interesting if the crashed plane with the loot crates had dynamic spawns all over the airfield so it's not always the same exact spot that's being camped.
@@alexvinkos8406 you say that but plenty of people camp the train, the convoy, helo crashes, christmas trees, bonfires, and pretty much any other spawn location, gear and player alike. *Nothing* devs do will disincentivize the grandfather of them all: the airfield camper.

I’m really happy with these changes. It’s bringing back the high risk - high reward formula that made Dayz so great to begin with. Great loot in small pockets + high exposure to snipers or other looters + very little cover = massive fear factor. Previous version was boring and often took me an hour or two just to loot thoroughly. It felt like a chore. Loot was terrible as well. Great update
Amazing editing as always. We are lucky to have someone so talented figuring all the ins and outs of this game for us. Not to mention way more in depth with detail than any creator for any game. Wobo is straight gangster.
I really love the new airfield man. DOJ did such a great job of simplifying it without overdoing it. I do wish there was some more unique stuff though in terms of the underground, little disappointed by that. But a great change overall Also you mentioned that roads show up from further away now at 3:25. It's not a settings thing, DOJ just updated the satmap to include some missing roads in various places on the map, so they show up now in those longer distances ;)
I too am a tiny but let down that the underground area is nothing more that some open rooms. When I first heard there was gonna be a bunker I was super happy
OK thanks for the info. I agree completely, the new airfield is much better than the previous version. These changes will most likely bring a good amount of PvP to the airfield. Whether or not the community sees the airfield as the most attractive place to be on Chernarus(like it was) is yet to be decided. We'll know in a few patches I guess.

Don't get me wrong I love the changes. However I don't really like that the crates are static, I wish it came with some kind of event. Even making them not just a nwaf but have the ability to go at any military location. I could just be me but I just want an animated non mod airdrop for dayz. 😂
Net positive opinion about this update. A scaled-down airfield will make for a better, more intense arena overall. Really sad that the plane wreck crates spawn heli crash loot tho. Heli crashes had already been screwed hard by the addition of the contaminated areas stretching the loot pool for rare weapons thin. Then convoys added further insult to injury, and now this. Heli Crashes are worth it even less now. On a side note, now that we're on the topic of map reworks, I'd love to see a NEAF revamp next.
These changes look great. I think a lot less camping will happen in those cheesy spots that were mentioned earlier in the video. Can't wait to make NWAF a part of all my Chernarus runs.
the supply crates are literally just CJ187s loot chest idea turned into a static object im assuming they are going to make ones that have to be unlocked in the future
I wasn't to impressed with the Airfield at first but after taking some time to look at it more I think DOJ did a pretty good job with it, even if I think it's lacking a bit. Would have been nice to add some kind of cool new area to attract players there more, a smaller version of the Livonia underground bunker or something. We don't know what their plans are for next year so maybe they have some bigger plans in the works. With them adding that new DLC widget to the main menu scene I'd imagine they must be prepping for some kind of new DLC to be released in the future.

Personally, I don't like the changes to the NWAF, the ONLY things I like are the dynamic crates and plane/trucks spot, the "reworked" and added to "Tisy" style building up in Bashnya, that one hanger location change, and the overall door open/closed changes to the other small hangers(oh and the plane monument, even though we still don't have our own Bumblebee airplane so why bust our balls about it).... otherwise, I think it was a waste of time and could've still had effect they were looking for (bringing more people to the NWAF) by just doing the plane dynamic crates deal......they could've just did the plane/crates and did something more constructive, like finally adding Utes Island Military Compound way off in the south sea past Skalisty Island like they said they were going to do years ago and never did.
My take might be a little controversial. While I do like that things are more condensed and there is more of a reason to go there, I do not like it being so flat and open. A lot of players like to say high risk, high reward; but I feel having areas this open takes the skill aspect and throws it out the window. Encounters are more interesting when it's not a game of who sees who first, or snipers camping open sight lines. There should, at the very least, be some kind of middle ground between having plenty of cover and none at all. The only "high risk" really, is to the players not set up to camp out. I think these kinds of changes just add a bad atmosphere, and enforces the bad habits that make the game more irritating to play.
A little saddened to see all the efforts put in an other rework of NWAF on Cherna… After all these years I’d expect it to be finished and see either some new content ( Stratis Island from A3 would be a good alternative IMO for a small map) or some new gameplay to spice things up. At least it’s good to see people are still devoted and involved to the game. Oh and great video as always!
Ill be curious if the crates are planned to be an event. Kinda like when the Livonia bunker was on experimental , the convoys had a 100% chance of a punch card and the spawn rate was reduced when it hit official. All that said, i really dont get the changes the NWAF. Made it incredibly open and everyone says its for PVP. I guess i dont see snipers shooting at each other from 100s of meters pvp. The way it was set up was good with enough openness to see player movement but enough cover to where its best to close the gap so you dont lose them after the first shots.
The New airfield is the best so far, a good mix between ogMod-days and the version before, which was just too clutered for PvP The only thing i really miss is the old metal hangars. I wish they finaly would give the NEAF some love, Noone goes there anymore, not even for medics. Oh and while we´re at it, Reforger just added Heli´s, sooooo..Littlebird where you at?
Exactly (on the Little Bird)....how is BI going to allow Reforger, which just came out, which a whole 3 individual play at any given time, get helicopters before DayZ SA, which was shown and promised both the Little Bird helicopter and Bumblebee airplane f'ing years ago and still hasn't gotten a damn thing. They can't act like they won't work, NW's helicopters work and fly as well as helicopters work and fly in Arma 3.... same with boats and bicycles and motorcycles (with sidecar, 2 wheels still absolutely suck) as there's all fantastic working mods for them and they all work better than DayZ vanilla cars and trucks....so it's utterly ridiculous and sheer laziness IMO.
I wish they'd add some abandoned Migs, a MI26 or a UN chinook would add some cool extra set dressing they could make pilot helmets and bomber jackets spawn exclusively at them

Everytime i get to NWAF on experimental servers i get shot out of nowhere. Its actually starting to make me wanna quit the game. 5 times, and i haven't even gotten to see the "bunker".

The way I see it is DayZ’s Engine can’t handle much more, it’s an outdated game on an outdated Engine, I feel like they made NWAF smaller this update to make room for something else in a future update. Just my thoughts on it.

Seems like an amazing update. But I think they should change the 1000m spawn radius on the supply crates especially with a brand new airfield everyone’s gonna wanna be at. I feel like the loot will pretty much only reset with the server reset.

Seems a lot of people excited about it thinking "oh it's going to be great for PvP" don't understand....sure....it will for whoever has the high ground now.... and if you have a guy camping ATC, nothing will spawn, you'll go there to look for the crates, and there won't be anything there because dude already most likely got those goodies (maybe you'll get a sodiepop), you'll then die because you're looking at the ground for loot from rifle fire from the high ground, and the process will repeat. It might bring fighting....but those crates will stay empty if already rummaged through as long as people are anywhere in that 1k distance.... and don't mention official servers.... because if I personally played official, I'd definitely have a base in either that moved sunken hanger in the woods, or one of the larger hangers with the new main doors being closed.... I don't think people realize this isn't going to be as great as they think it will be. Personally, I think they (Dance) should've added the dynamic crates, and instead of playing with everything else, added Utes Island Military Compound off the southern coast of Skalisty Island way out at sea like we were both promised, and like it's supposed to be, then added an underground bunker to Utes like Livonia instead..... giving us an end game type of goal.... even though we still have zero end game content 🙄

There needs to put multiple points of interest at nwa, it doesn't have to be endgame but u can put other things there. I'm excited to see what modders do with it, at least we now wave a literal emergency airdrop type assets in the game.

Sadly Mod developers are the ones needing to pick up their slack for them, which sucks for both PC players who just want to play "vanilla" and not have to search out a server with the mods they only want to deal with and nothing overboard, and it sucks for those console plebians who don't have access to mods whatsoever. The community has already, for years now, had air drops that move around the map, why the devs couldn't even take decent inspiration from that, I have no idea (oh yeah, lazy)....they really just don't think it seems.... like that new player spawning idea they're trying to implement in 1.23.....its going to be absolutely terrible, they should've just left it alone, but they love changing things that definitely don't need changing to act like they're doing something, instead of actually doing something constructive.

Wobo, being our lead dayZ scientist, have you ever thought about analyzing chernarus for context clues and other things to make a lore video? I dont think the game needs anything like story missions but we need more than oh hey infected are here so thats why chernarus is empty of any clues on any backstory aspect.

Any advice on looting NWAF and avoiding zombies? It’s my first time and my suppressor is badly damaged. I walked down a road from grishino and I am currently at the main entrance, closest to grishino. I am by a prison and guardhouse.

Very well done WOBO as always. Question tho, have Loot Tiers changed now with the Rework or stayed the same? Also how does Vehicles Parts spawn / respawn on Vehicles ? I've heard it changed with 1.23.
I would imagine the night vision is still hard to find since there can only be one on the ground at any given time. Do these crates spawn if you log out the exact location and log back in again when the server is empty? Or do event spawns only happen if you're 1000m away?
As someone who has played the old NWAF, this new NWAF feels much more like what we used to have and a little extra. The new version greatly improves the issues that plagued it from the older versions which were: 1. Signtlines were too messed up and sniping nearly impossible unless making yourself stupidly visible on little bunker hills or one of very few buildings. 2. Loot was godawful considering most buildings spawned a poor amount of loot if any at all, making a trip to zelenogorsk almost better than NWAF (which makes no sense). Both problems have been greatly solved as the airfield is now flat once again and with additions of structures that more consistently spawn loot + the supply crate mechanic at the plane.
They destroyed the airfield instead of taking out they should only added to make it better and they need to add new city’s to all them open wooded areas - this is why community servers are better they only add

Definitely a fan of the new airfield. The current one feels too big in my opinion and too complex.

The bullet condition doesn't matter, it's the magazine condition that matters when it comes to weapon jams, I'm pretty sure.

It might bring fighting....but those crates will stay empty if already rummaged through as long as people are anywhere in that 1k distance.... and don't mention official servers.... because if I personally played official, I'd definitely have a base in either that moved sunken hanger in the woods, or one of the larger hangers with the new main doors being closed.... I don't think people realize this isn't going to be as great as they think it will be.
Personally, I think they (Dance) should've added the dynamic crates, and instead of playing with everything else, added Utes Island Military Compound off the southern coast of Skalisty Island way out at sea like we were both promised, and like it's supposed to be, then added an underground bunker to Utes like Livonia instead..... giving us an end game type of goal.... even though we still have zero end game content 🙄
@@johnnygeorgopoulos4072 that's the main problem I have with it, it's static... Y wouldn't you just sit in a bush and wait, it's going to be toxic af. There needs to put multiple points of interest at nwa, it doesn't have to be endgame but u can put other things there.
I'm excited to see what modders do with it, at least we now wave a literal emergency airdrop type assets in the game.
@@HOGSledhead62 seems the devs have no vision or creativity. That's the issue. Sadly Mod developers are the ones needing to pick up their slack for them, which sucks for both PC players who just want to play "vanilla" and not have to search out a server with the mods they only want to deal with and nothing overboard, and it sucks for those console plebians who don't have access to mods whatsoever.
The community has already, for years now, had air drops that move around the map, why the devs couldn't even take decent inspiration from that, I have no idea (oh yeah, lazy)....they really just don't think it seems.... like that new player spawning idea they're trying to implement in 1.23.....its going to be absolutely terrible, they should've just left it alone, but they love changing things that definitely don't need changing to act like they're doing something, instead of actually doing something constructive.
I would skip nwaf for tisy half the time, but it feels really good now. Might want to bring binoculars tho
I’ve been playing on experimental a lot and idk if this has happened to anyone else but I’ve had a airplane with air drops spawn in front of the hanger with the medical tents
I’ve never seen the crates there and I’ve been on multiple servers, in about 30 lives to nwaf

I probably stick to Livonia. Played too mutch Chernarus, I don't see a reason to return to it, also I think Livonia is a better designed map overall.
Wobo, being our lead dayZ scientist, have you ever thought about analyzing chernarus for context clues and other things to make a lore video? I dont think the game needs anything like story missions but we need more than oh hey infected are here so thats why chernarus is empty of any clues on any backstory aspect.

People saying NWAF didn’t have a reason to be visited before making me laugh because it really has NO reason to be visited now 😹☠️ you’ll have maybe 4 areas of loot spawn instead of 20.
Any advice on looting NWAF and avoiding zombies? It’s my first time and my suppressor is badly damaged. I walked down a road from grishino and I am currently at the main entrance, closest to grishino. I am by a prison and guardhouse.
I do wish the supply drops would fall from the sky in real time. Would make for an awesome server wide event. They could make different tiered crates, Millitary/Food/Supplies ❤

What loot spawns in the bunker, did I miss it?
I would imagine the night vision is still hard to find since there can only be one on the ground at any given time. Do these crates spawn if you log out the exact location and log back in again when the server is empty? Or do event spawns only happen if you're 1000m away?
New airfield is great, but what about the whole rabbit hole thing? I expected there to be an actual bunker, also what about the God of Death???

They finally removed the construction building, was always confused and trying to understand how that made any sense in a military airfield
Maybe because before the zombies showed up the military was building something there maybe constructing a new building or radar facility

NWAF bunker guide please!!
As someone who has played the old NWAF, this new NWAF feels much more like what we used to have and a little extra. The new version greatly improves the issues that plagued it from the older versions which were:
1. Signtlines were too messed up and sniping nearly impossible unless making yourself stupidly visible on little bunker hills or one of very few buildings.
2. Loot was godawful considering most buildings spawned a poor amount of loot if any at all, making a trip to zelenogorsk almost better than NWAF (which makes no sense).
Both problems have been greatly solved as the airfield is now flat once again and with additions of structures that more consistently spawn loot + the supply crate mechanic at the plane.
Was perfect just the way it was, could of just added to the existing map instead.
They destroyed the airfield instead of taking out they should only added to make it better and they need to add new city’s to all them open wooded areas - this is why community servers are better they only add

Idk. I love that its move pvp focused. But COMPLETELY flattening it is kinda annoying. Gonna miss some tiny parts.
