  • Again, here we are in this magnificent project. This majestic 5000-gallon reef aquarium couldn't look any better, it's full of life and covered in beautiful colors. Today Jeff Tuner will do the hard job of cleaning the gravel and all the debris stored in the rock and behind the corals, a very important part of the maintenance of any reef aquarium, in this case, done on a large scale. Enjoy this great blue whale!

Boy is that a big beauty! Corals are growing fast and colorful, that was a good amount of poop you took out there and it showed after it calmed. The big Colony with the polops moving is nice. 🐟🐟🐟

Reef bleaching does the same thing. Its a natural occurrence of nature.

Awesome, I have a 625 and can’t keep it that clean. This past week I blasted my rock also and its amazing how much stuff comes off. Had to stop about 3/4 way thru and will pick it up again in next month of so. The water was just getting too murky.

Hello, Julio! Thanks for commenting! It's a tough job blasting the aquarium! Good luck with that!

Where did you purchase the large dry reef rock that you used to aquascape your reef?

Is one of those things that falls in the "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it".
I have a 560 gallon reef, so about 1/10th the size of this, and I've spent enough to buy a nice German luxury car. The bigger you go, the more the costs go up, both on initial setup, as well as the amount of livestock, and the maintenance. A setup like this is definitely deep 6 figures , and the monthly upkeep would likely be 4 figures.

Id guess probably about the same as a new Rolls Royce Phantom. I'd choose the aquarium if I were unlucky enough to have to pick 🤣
