I grow my own white cotton in North Queensland Australia, but so far have not been able to source the natural brown or green seeds. I do enjoy working with the cotton. I have had some Lovely compliments when I wear my knitted top. Almost set up to weave my first cotton garment. Love the idea of spinning/plying together fine cottons for the warp.
Love the dress you are wearing also. It's just lovely.

Can I use cotton and wool in the same project?

Yes, but I wouldn't mix them in the warp and the weft, stretch and shrinkage are probably different. I like a cotton warp and a wool weft, that makes a garment I can wear almost all year round 😀👍
