Judging by looks I think it comes to preference, of course Kakarot is more cinematic and have longer cutscenes, people would complain that in FighterZ, but I'm glad both are excellent
The dialogue for Kakarot is pretty much 1 to 1 with the series, notice when Goku yells at Frieza before blasting him, in Fighter Z he says "You moron!" And in Z KAKAROT he says "You fool!" Which is what he says in the source material, slight change, but noticeable.
@@Niall_Sene I noticed them changing it to moron in Fighterz , I wonder why though.
To be fair, the DBFZ one is just a special scene that plays as a special finish to a fight, while the DBZK one is an actual cutscene of a game.
@@ttdanimations1231 As it should be, it's a delight, it would be a waste not to show it
Dbz Kakarot has no emotions
Chris Ayers you were the perfect Frieza, you will be missed
Funny thing that chris ayers didn't voice both games
He didn't? I thought he did. Who is gonna be playing as Frieza now since he passed away
I think daman Mills since he voiced frieza in dbzk and dbfz and he also filled up for chris when he was sick
What happened to him?
@@vianlimitschannel2116 he passed away
friezas face when he tilts his head up is literally just the perfect way of showing how demented he is
I remember seeing that for the first time. It sent chills down my spine. But I loved it nonetheless

Looks good, as a modern interpretation. It's just... you now... not accurate to the source material.
@@megaten666 I know... it's BETTER.
@@RtistiqSkubie No, it's stylistically different from Troiyama's art. This kind of demented face is okay in a Fartuto game, but not in a classic, like DBZ.
3:10 I like that "I can't believe it" look in Goku's face. Like "i helped you after everything you have done and you turn around and do this"
I read it as "it's so regrettable that the strongest guy in the galaxy also happens to be such an irredeemable scum"
@@ZoruaHunter yeah i think goku's meant to be sad here, not angry. Goku loves to fight strong opponents, but not kill. He'd rather have ended things off on a cleaner note
@@ctpp64 I'm not sure considering on how his old friend krillin and most of the planet died so *Eh* maybe?

Frieza: "NOOO!" *_cuts himself in half with a pizza_*
Goku: *_flies back_* "lmao, I'm giving you energy so you can still fly away from the exploding planet. I seriously don't need or even want to kill you. Bye now."
Frieza: "NOOOO!! I AM THE STRONGEST IN THE UNIVERSE!" *_soyjack beam_*
Goku: "YOU DIPSHIT!" *_chad beam parry_*

Xenoverse 2: You idiot!
sometimes you gotta wonder how many ties these voice actors have done the same bit over the past 20-ish years
@SirBaconLot, I’m not saying this harshly if you feel this way. It’s more in a joking kind of way. I find it interesting when people say, those actors must be tired of doing the same lines a million times but is that really any different than any other job. With every job, regardless of what it is, you’re doing the samething over and over again. It might not be the only thing cause with most jobs, you have more than 1 task but the premise is still the same. Hell, you figure, what they do is actually one of the easiest jobs. They’re getting paid to say, lol, what we’ve said either or written a million times while watching it, anime arguments, lol. As long as they get a check, I’m sure they’re good.
Goku japanese VA been doing it way longer than that
@JesterHeatherYT And Masako Nosawa has been voicing Goku since 1986, your point?
@@alejandrolangarica624 what's your point he's still right the orginal commenter said "way" longer which would be more then a year.
What i dont see a lot of people appreciating about fighterz is that the animation and framing are specifically designed to mimick the manga sequence panel by panel. If all of ikevinx's videos were still up id highly recommend checking them out, arc did a remarkable job reimagining what we already had without turning it into something its not.
I... never realized that, that's actually cool

OSP recently pointed out how the games get Goku’s face better after he throws the last energy blast. Even though he’s totally justified in retaliating, he’s totally filled with regret for killing Frieza (which he thinks he did). Meanwhile he kind of just looks angry in the anime
He looked sad in the manga, don't know why the anime changed it for an angry face.
@@leonardoalvarenga7572 could be a style choice, trying to make super Saiyan appear more angry, even after a fight has ended. Or maybe they felt that since Frieza had caused him and many, many others so much pain, he shouldn't show remorse for it. Whatever their reason, I definitely believe the sad look is more in line with who Goku is
RIP, Chris Ayers. We'll miss you dearly!

Something not a lot of people talk about is how after giving freezer his energy, goku didn’t look back and just left as soon as possible.
He knows what he did was wrong.
He knows he should’ve let freezer die in the explosion after everything he’s done.
He should’ve let him there, but goku is too good of a person to have someone die when he could’ve stopped it, even if it’s a demented tyrant.
He left because he couldn’t face freezer after what he did, he was supposed to kill him, freezer murdered billions, but he just couldn’t do it, he's too pure.
That’s why he was telling freezer to crouch when his death slicers were gonna kill him, and that’s why he was trying to hold back in that last energy beam, he didn’t want freezer to die
I give my freezer energy
Always remember destroying some ones spirit is always worse than death.
@@zthym6599 me too
Yeah buddy no one talks about that because it's all in your head. Unless it's stated by the artist itself or heavily implied on the manga itself whatever you're reading is your own interpretation. If you think interpretation works ask all the hundreds of different versions of Christianity we have today
Yeah...no way in hell that was Toriyama's intent. He was too busy getting the chapter done at the last minute.
“Dang it Freezer, now I have to give you more.”
That still makes me giggle
Huh. Don't see him anymore. Guess he took the energy and left.
This is more of differences in the art direction, both look good but the differences are: DFZ is made in game after you win a fight and DBZ: K is a cinematic, is impressive how DBF can look good on it's own and DBZ: K was a good representation, epic
Goku: "I'm giving you a small amount of my energy!"
Freeza: "Yeah, this'll be enough to kill the guy who just whooped my ass."
Me: "...So this is why they made me learn math..."
These scenes will never be old
Zamasu at the end is the definition of payday and going off to blow it all day one
Man Damian is such a good voice actor
I really hope he can keep Chris legacy alive
Anybody realize how in both comparisons Goku has two sweat drops on his face🤔
Because he had it 9n the manga. Wanna keep that manga accuracy yknow.
DBZF has 3 actually. One on his forehead.
@@kazuma8486 ohh shizz you right
@@DeltaDubs89 Except Frieza isn’t cut in half and Gokus shirt isn’t destroyed.
When your fighting in a high temperature planet about to explode. Gotta be sweaty
That shot of Goku after killing Frieza..
MAX remorse, he REALLY didn't wanna kill him.
The anime fucked up that detail by not showing the face from the manga accurately
1:36 "Daddy,I don't want to be on Namek anymore."
"You fool!" Has more weight clearly, but "You moron" has the impact of "When will you learn?!" As if to say they're doing this again, which makes sense because Frieza isn't chopped in half, and Goku isn't so battered and bruise. It looks more like a rematch than an actual reinactment.
My only complaint is that in the dbfz version, he says "you moron!" instead of the iconic "you fool!!!"
DBFZ got it frame perfect from the anime, but DBZ:K is more cinematic with a lasting impression. Both do what they’re meant to do for each other’s respective games
DBZ kakarot was one of the best story games I've ever played from dbz
It was what we all wanted as children lol only took 20 or so years later for us to get it
It made me happy throughout the entire game
@Lord Fainza wrong opinion lol still the best Dbz story game
Goku’s face when he shoots Frieza just crushes my heart a lot
Yeah in the anime they didnt do it so expressive like the manga, im glad these games did it
Yeah the thing with Goku is he's not a killer, very rarely does he kill his enemies unless they REALLY deserved it and he believes people can change, most of his friends have been his rivals/enemies at one point.
Unfortunately is too easy to fool Goku cause of this.
@@DubFanLatino they did do it in the anime though?

Overly Sarcastic Productions did an episode on this moment and it really touched on something vital:
That pained look on Goku's face. The inability to control his power in that moment. A pure heart awoken by fury unable to control that rage. The instinct of self-defense replaced with bloodlust, like he isn't capable of NOT annihilating Freeza.
Just... it's weirdly sad
I like that both versions caught the regret on gokus face after he killed frieza, since the anime didn't do a good job at that
I will miss you, chris....
Goku's look of disgust, regret, sorrow, and so many other emotions stays in my mind...

We always remember you....Chris.....
As someone who plays fighterz more than I do Kakarot, I was surprised how much better the scene is done in dbzk. Goku’s face after seemingly destroying frieza looks good in both but the remorse is shown more in Kakarot where fighterz is just a regret face. Goku didn’t want to kill frieza, that’s why he says that he hopes they never meet again for his sake. In Kakarot it seems perfectly shown how he regrets having to kill him and the remorse he has for doing so. Kakarot is a masterpiece and I notice more of it every day.
Tbf in FighterZ it's just a fun little thing to end the fight with and in Kakrot it's an important story cutscene, still a cool comparison tho and I agree
Yea, dramatic finishes technically were made to be just that: dramatic. Comparing it with a game about the story of the official dbz manga/anime wouldn’t be really fair. But thanks, it’s fun discovering things in games.

Chris Ayers is the voice actor of Frieza who died a few months ago
But the guy voicing frieza in these games is Damian millis
@@maxmilianpedersen8291 Daman Mills was Chris Ayres’ understudy, but with the latter’s death, the former is very definitely the replacement now.
Regardless, these two performances aren’t by Chris.
I think he is hoping people aren’t confusing that.
@@SSMike31 Yeah, I respect the man, but Damian should be getting credit for his work
It's crazy.....
To think that they've made MILLIONS, maybe even Billions, using this same exact fight in different games throughout damn near, if not, 2 decades.
I'm not bashing, but it is wild to me, personally😂
Db is like the simpsons in japan
I mean, it's probably the most iconic scene in Dragon Ball Z, it'd be a bit crazy for any game going over the Frieza arc to not include it, as doing so would piss off fans.
man, I remember when I saw Frieza for the first time as a kid I thought he was terrifying and brutal but now I just see him as just a sadistic coward
he’s slaughtered millions with a grin on his face and just when he’s about to die, he begs for mercy and when the man, the Saiyan, the race he hates and whom he took everything from, gives him that mercy Frieza betrays it by shooting Goku from behind like a coward
Background music?
It goes well with the video 👌👌
Zamasu at the end was epiccc
Fun fact: in the Manga, Goku says "You Dumbass!!!" Or "You Asshole!!!" depending on which translation you read (well, before the English dub/public Remastered version)
I think the Spanish (Mexico) dub were the only one who said that in the anime.
DBZ kakarot looks amazing. It took forever, but they finally seemed to nail that DBZ anime look without it looking goofy. That scene was epic, and the lighting was perfect. Really did a fantastic job of showing the scale and scope of it all.
That’s because it wasn’t made in game it’s made as a cinematic lol, dbfz uses the in game models and stages without altering or changing anything other than camera angles

Anime was just pure rage. Manga was a mixture of anguish and grief.
@@sentinal_entity Exactly. They got it right.
Listen, I understand that everyone is admiring this absolutely magnificent voice work, but something about this scene has always bothered me.
How does Goku still have the capacity to spare Frieza's life, even after seeing his best friend murdered by him? Like, Dragon Balls or not, this bastard has to die.
He is too pure hearted of a Saiyan, that's all the explaination I can give.
In the end he doesn't want anyone to suffer
Good point, because if you watched OG Dragonball, goku brutally murders king piccolo and all his minions. Along with Tao pai pai and countless other red ribbon operatives. However, post kami training, he actually starts with this shit. When he defeats piccolo jr he gives him a senzu.
@@buildinasentry1046 Huh makes sense, I blame Kami for not having Goku have his brutal Saiyan side known as Kakarot.

yeah we always remember that..
That Kirby outro tho XDDD LMAO
I love that video ending of Zamasu
That "YOU FOOL!" always rings in my soul
love the dbz kakarot game never get bored playing so many time
I don't know why but i feel like their is just a different energy to goku yelling "you fool" compared to him yelling "you moron". Yes he's angry in both versions but calling frieza a moron feels more like him attacking out of pure anger, it's more insulting. Where as calling frieza a fool still gets the anger across but also the regret in having to strike the final blow, and at frieza being so blind to reality that he would act in such a way.
Goku is completely justified in calling him a moron.
A fool is someone who doesn't know any better
A moron is someone who keeps doing the same mistakes despite already "learning" them.
Frieza got iirc at least 3 chances to get out alive and yet he didn't take any.
Plus calling him a moron is on most of the other languages, including Japan.
The samazu dance at the end 😂😂😂
That is a "Why did you make me DO that!?" Face in the end.
*That face you make when the cat leaves a dead baby bird covered in cat food in front of the door as a present...*
It was a sweet gesture, but just... uhhh...nooo...
Even though we've played the story soooooo many times in the Dragonball Z games before, Dragonball Z kakarot gave it such a satisfying note with its impressive engine and beautiful nearly hand written artstyle. I'm glad i bought this on ps4 before and after on pc. Can't hold myself back on supporting such a well made game !
Honestly I never understood why Goku felt a little bad about blasting back at Frieza after he tried to kill him with the energy given to him by Goku. And also the fact that Frieza again killed millions of innocents including his best friend Krillin which at the time Goku thought there wasn’t gonna be any other way to bring him back since he had no knowledge that the namek dragonballs doesn’t have the “Bring back once only” restriction.
Honestly I think that's a great way to portray Goku's character and I find it really intriguing and entertaining. Goku has matured since OG Dragonball and just doesn't like killing in general. It really feels like Goku never really wanted to get "Revenge" on Frieza but instead saw it as his duty to stand up to him for all of the terrible things he's done, not just to him or any of his friends. That being said, the part of Goku that see's killing as wrong and undesirable still shined through throughout the entire scene and imo it's a beautiful contrast to the sort of troupe-ish revenge attitude that most other anime protagonists seem to share.
@@hyperazzy-5048 I guess that’s a good point. I guess what I really wanted was to not really see that trope attitude but to at least not really care for the fact that this man that has done terrible things to innocence and to his best friend would make him feel indifferent or just like a “Well, it’s over now.” Type of feeling
Shame what they did with him in super, I can't argue Goku had a lot of good moments in super, but in term of personality compared to Z it really felt like a downgrade.
@@hyperazzy-5048 nah, goku definitely killed people before. It’s probably because he killed a strong fighter, and the fact the he can’t fight with freeza again saddened him. But who knows
With that logic you could say the same for Vegeta.
But we all know Goku isnt the type to consider murder their first option. He even warns Frieza to duck in order to not get cut in half and from that point you can tell he is legitimately a nice guy.
He saw Frieza begging to him knowing how proud he is, "he would never beg to anyone, so this must be a crucial opportunity to change".
Remember he just recently saw Vegeta die crying and passing his dream on to him aswell.
So that's another hint on his character development.
If anyone likes Vegeta they should give thanks that Goku is this way, otherwise Krillin would have sliced him up back at Earth.
Zamasu be vibin though
The entire time I thought I was watching a Z vs Kai video and was wondering why it was showing the games, then the video ended. Then I was really confused lol

0:55 friend, what was that animation of the Frieza discs when they appeared? .. they could have improved that because the discs without animation have appeared like this is horrible
DBZK captured the "Fuck... I shouldn't have done that." look a lot better. You can really see the sadness and regret Goku has of letting his rage take control and make him kill Frieza
No.
@@jsmithers. biased
Wow, Japan finally had the balls to chop freeza in half...... that's new😳
Honestly... both are good. Like... REAL good, literal love letters to the fans just in the small details alone.
For example, the face Goku makes when he kills Frieza for good, this is the ACTUAL face he makes in the manga when that happens. Many DBZ games tend to just put an angry-ass face on goku and call it a day, mostly due to technical limitations when talking about the 6th and 7th generation of consoles, it's also REAL fuckin' hard to get that face right on actual 3D models.
But these little details, are exactly what makes a whole world of differences for fans, both Arc System Works and Cyberconnect2 are known to be extremely good at conveying details in their anime-style games, sometimes even rivalling the anime itself, The Naruto Storm Games are a pretty good example of that, especially the first one.
For a future game comes I wish they could make Goku said " You Moronic Fool!!!"
Goku said "YOU STUPID FUCK!" in the manga

Both wonderfull, but i prefer Fighterz for one particular
After hits Frieza, Goku think that he killed him, and you can notice the shaking of his arm after the strike, and the droplet on his face more his facial expression, they say more than thousand words
Really a beatifull scene
Actually in DBFZ he actually killed him as It is shown that most DBZ iconic movements killed the enemy, Spirit bomb dramatic finish and goku vs vegita killed vegita etc
I like the shots in FighterZ more, it just feels more cinematic. But both are good imo.
I wonder how weird it would look if they replaced the DBFZ character look with the DBZK look but kept the DBFZ look for the energy attacks.
Kakarot's actually a pretty good rpg, not just a good dragon ball game. I would put those scenes up against Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts etc. Not saying the game's as good as those, but just the scenes... maybe
You could literally play Kakarot and simultaneously watch the entirety of Z without fillers, the story is so accurate
@@vdd1001 they do cut out some good moments though. Like the final flash.
Well one is a fighting game and the other is a RPG.
I think it's obvious why one is more cinematic.
Goku truly roasted Frieza lmfao
Always thought the YOU FOOL line sounded way better.
Dragon ball fighter z did a good job of portraying that sad look
1:23 The moment that Frieza gets cut in half
Well; one is focused on online, competitive, & fighting play, & the other is focused on the story & cinematics. No wonder one's cutscene is better, & more fleshed out than the other.
CyberConnect is great with their anime games, but ArcSystems' animations are just on a whole new level.
I like FighterZ more simply because they actually include Goku's hand shakes.
It's an important piece of the psyche after just killing someone when you really didn't want too.
Off topic but man, i just want a spanish dub for kakarot. God damn it, bandai
Arts works ability to use 3D model yet keep a 2d style of perspective and admission is what gives it the win
Despite the lighting and special effects for kakarot it is giant when you realize that those are full on 3D models and they pop out during the animations
