This is so relatable. I almost backed out of my first date with my now husband 4 years ago. I made that man work. He talked to my mom and asked her for help, etc. it was the cutest thing and when I convinced myself to go, I showed up, gave him a hug and instantly felt safe and at ease.
I think I need to order that book The One! I just got on FB dating app. And I match with a bunch of guys but I’m so nervous to actually go out and meet them in person. I feel like I would rather talk for a while to get to know them before I meet them in person, but I’m feeling like these guys want to meet up kind of right away.
That’s really good advice. And you are so right about not letting them know where you live yet.. i’ve had some really bizarre and kind of scary experiences since I moved to Florida by being too trusting@@oooh19
Love these 2 women and this podcast! One thing I didn't agree with though was the whole tampon thing. I don't think hiding a tampon means you're ashamed to be on your period. It's just a personal thing that not everyone wants to advertise. I don't think a coworker wants to know I'm about to go change a tampon and on the flipside it's none of her business anyway. I think we overshare too much in our society today.
I recommend a book called The Rules Book by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider from 1995 that has newer editions (the newest came out last year). Free pdfs online

Meet up in a public place and leave separately. You don’t need to let them know where you live yet.

Spoiler alert… Joel sees Midge with no makeup. Just wait 😉
