    Good review. Your videos are well structured for me as well and you give good information about the campsites. Also good that you show that there are other campers as well instead of showing no one else… Keep it up!

      Thanks! We generally camp on weekends and holidays so there are always other campers. I suppose this is the case for most people too.
      Thanks for the feedback 👍🏾

    Absolute must-visit for campers who are self-sufficient. Really incredible

      Definitely recommended. The other campsites in the park are quite similar too. Camper must be self sufficient though!

    A worthwhile excursion for any camping lover, provided they are experienced

      Yes you do need a bit of experience and should know what you need to pack. Beautiful camping there, definitely recommended! 👌🏾

    One of those neighbouring campsites does have some sort of spring. Never used it myself.

      Wasn't aware of that. Will look it up 👍🏾

    Would love to see your set up for these remote areas. Was it too windy for a roof top tent or do u prefer the ground one???

    • @TravelGigolo
      @TravelGigolo  3 роки тому

      We use the ground tent by default. Generally, we only use the RTT when we are camping for one night or in an unfenced Big5 campsite. So it was ground tent this time.
      Our set up is quite straightforward. Will do an episode on that as well as the vehicle. We're locked down in Gauteng for now though. I suppose we should integrate the setup more into the episodes too 🤔

    Did you have to bok to stay at Koringkorrelbaai?

    • @TravelGigolo
      @TravelGigolo  3 роки тому

      Yes, we had to book. It's necessary to book during the December period as the sites fill up.

    Is it possible to go there with a 4x2 with difflock? Just to the coastal campsite?

    • @TravelGigolo
      @TravelGigolo  2 роки тому +1

      There are some camp sites that can you get to without a 4x4 These are on the northernmost side of the coastal section (e.g. Boulder Bay approaching from the north) and the southernmost camps (approaching from the south). Getting to the camps in between is where the problem lies. We've been to Boulder Bay with a Nissan Livina.
      I understand (from other campers that were there) that some of the coastal camps can be approached from inland roads as well, however I don't know the roads well enough to advise on that.
      Hope that's helpful.

    I must ask. Did you get stuck in the sand. 😬😬

    • @TravelGigolo
      @TravelGigolo  3 роки тому +1

      😄😄 Fortunately no. Tyres at 1.2 bar, kept the engine revs up, and had no issues at all. Did not have difflock engaged. It was surprisingly quite straightforward even when fully loaded.
      Helps to have 265/75/R15 tyres though 😉

      I came through in April. Someone had churned big “holes” in the long section. Took me 45 min of digging & laying sand tracks to get out

    • @TravelGigolo
      @TravelGigolo  3 роки тому

      That's rough. Were the holes from someone getting stuck frequently and/or wheel spinning then digging themselves out?
      Possibly 2WD and/or perhaps tyres at full pressure.
      This is why I advocate that people should use 4WD where it's required by the owner of the road. 2WD tend to damage the road for everyone if driver is not experienced and patient.

      @@TravelGigolo Many shallow holes on alternate sides on the track, just deep enough to stop momentum and once you stop ……. Probably tyres too hard and no diff lock causing spinning wheels. But all part of the adventure 😁😁. And good practice for Damaraland later this year.

      😄 Cool. Enjoyed that part of Namibia. Would like to go back and explore it more. Maybe try my hand at fishing at Torra Bay again as well.
