      Lies all lies. No man designed the motorcycle and the Wright brothers didn’t design the plane. Did any man create themselves? Nope. God is the only creator and primordial majestic living being in the world. Those who are dead is cause they are liars. And look at this guy he looks like the walking dead cause he’s lying about this creation. God is the only designer! And if you were enlightened you wouldn’t be praising yourselves.

    My FB posting of this, to my friends - AND on a couple of old-time 'cycle pages:
    "Look at this.
    Whether we like it or not, this IS the future.
    (Just like when we all had to get unleaded conversions for our old iron?)
    I don't mind it (or 'wouldn't' - IF I still rode) - and I like the 'Dieter Rams' approach to their production values.
    BEAUTIFUL short made by my dear friend Lindsey's brother Gareth Roberts for Curtiss Motorcycles.
    Anyway, give it some love - if you still have any in your cold, black hearts?
    ; )"

    Impressive! I was blessed to test ride several Confederate motorcycles in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as a journalist. I fell in love with every one. They were such powerful and solid motorcycles. I trust that the same approach went into designing these Curtiss bikes... Looking forward to hearing more about them!

    Wow, much congrats. It's groundbreaking and gorgeous. Inspiring too - people coming together to solve age-old problems, to persevere for ideals until brought to fruition. Feels heroic to me. With a nod to the filmmaking - cinematic shots/sounds/motiongraphics of a hero movie, a story transportive, and ultimately transformational. Well done. One of very few brand films/products I've ever shared. And not just because it's now on my wishlist.

    The Curtiss 1 is on my list of things to acquire and enjoy before I'm too old. It's like riding an Art Deco work, and considering I also have an original Brough Superior SS100 on my list too, the Curtiss is inexpensive in comparison. Stunning design, aesthetics and attention to detail, I think it's worth every penny. I'd rather live in a log cabin and own one of these, than live in a very comfortable suburban house and never afford to buy a Curtiss.
    Only one issue with the video, is the rapid sliding stills image changes became irritating as there was no time to appreciate their detail.

    • @TheTReed78
      @TheTReed78 2 роки тому

      @@oilintheblood8916 no they're not, there are no definitive specs on the website backed by anything concrete or measurable, we are only to assume the performance specs are the same between both models, and they're only words on a website; zero proof the bikes are built to that spec. It doesn't take much to run a bike down a street for a few seconds vs a real test, so you riding one isn't proof of anything. I don't understand why it would be so tough to just let someone evaluate one. Also 8.8kw getting 70hwy with that shape is utterly impossible. The Livewire, which I've ridden which has a 15.5hw pack gets 95 hwy, and the 14.4kw Zero DSR only gets a rated 70 miles, so somehow Curtiss has figured out how to deliver twice the efficiency of the competition. If I were you I'd ditch this pipedream and just go into battery production as you're obviously using some kind of alien tech no one else has.

    • @garethroberts1075
      @garethroberts1075 2 роки тому

      @@TheTReed78 There are definitive data specs one the website. They're clearly stated. The data was extrapolated over months of validation. The data is all verifiable. Both models are built to the same tech specs and thus have the same performance parameters, the difference between the two models are stylistic. I have ridden over a hundred miles on one of the prototypes, JT Nesbitt and Matt Chambers many, many miles more. The company is hand building the first production motorcycles one by one, by hand, right now and will be available for journalists to test within the next couple of months. The Livewire is a mass produced motorcycle available at hundreds of retail outlets for consumers to test. The 1 will never be a mass produced machine and will be built to order. They'll never be available for you to walk into your local showroom to test ride. If you're serious about buying one, the company will offer you the opportunity to test ride before you commit.

    That's one beautiful motorcycle! To get more range, why not add saddlebags that look like the underbelly battery pack? I'd take one as it is however, having the ability to do a round trip from Disneyland to Malibu and back would be huge. One hundred to 120 highway range would be perfect.

I have an e-bike to get some most that for a heck of a lot less money...lol they are a beautiful bike a work of art in motion. 😊 And it needs a better seating position legs out handlebars up a little bit higher. Floorboards instead of foot pegs.

    I do like the philosophy of building a bike that can last many decades and more, and essentially reinventing the motorcycle.
    But the design, the aesthetics... it's really really shitty-looking in my subjective view. Those shapes and fin-like curves everywhere seem so unnecessary and marine, I half-expect Aquaman to come jumping out from a river and claim back his kids-cartoon bike for next Saturday morning.

    Freed people from the pursuit of financial gain you say.. so how are people going to buy your 100 thousand dollar motorcycles? My point is it's not sustainable for your company financially. Sure you did a Great thing but no one is going to buy these except the very rich and in today's climate that's not going to grow your company. You Need to make bikes people can afford as well as desire. Otherwise you are going to end up a long forgotten foot note in some history book. What are you doing toward this end?

      The statement is eluding to the shift in priority by manufacturers away from maximum financial gains towards groundbreaking technical and design innovation. The Curtiss 1 price is necessitated by the cost of research, development and prototyping of unique patented technology, uncompromising production quality, the very best componentry and the small batch production numbers. We are planning subsequent models that will use the Curtiss 1 platform but will be scaled in production and use more modest components. This is our flagship machine that sets the bar for all that follows. It has to be our Best & Finest.

      @@DivergentDroid I totally understand your point of view however this statement reminds me of the quote “legacy thinking is a liability”. It’s easy to extrapolate your reasoning, but I’d challenge you to dig deeper. Look into the engineering, cost reduction in parts and complexity. This is what Matt and JT mean by the product being front loaded in cost. Simplicity and minimalism will provide ease of manufacturing and assembling these machines. IMO they will make more affordable motorcycles. But for now they start with the architecture which can be easily adapted for a whole line of bikes at various price points along while being fully customizable. As well, think of it like this… my friend inherited his father’s Rolex, which is probably about 30 years old. Recently he switched out the dial and it looks like a brand new Rolex. Sure his father could have bought many Seiko’s over the years and so could his son, but no amount of Seiko’s will ever be a timeless Rolex that can be perpetually updated and personalized.
      To go along with your thoughts; Tesla did make a huge mistake thinking the Model 3 would take market share from BMW… They quickly found out that people who owned Subaru’s, Camry’s and Corolla’s upgraded because they believed in sustainably and creating change. I’m with you, I hope Curtiss can manufacture in volume then have boutique showrooms where you can customize your ride similar to the Bentley or Bugatti experience.
