There are a few factors that could potentially affect rental charge: 1. Time spent on looking for charging station at the destination. This is a very common issue especially when one first travel to a new charging location/destination. I would advise you to do a bit of research before travel so that you could get it right the first time. I researched on Google map and watched BlueSG video to ensure I know the exact parking location the night before filming. 2. Time spent on HDB exit gantry - I could have paid the parking charges, and get it reimbursed from BlueSG subsequently (instead of wasting time waiting for the carpark operator to open the gate for me, as shown in the video) 3. Speed of travel - certainly the speedier I travel, the lesser time spent on the road and hence the lower the rental charge. However, I would advise you not to push the envelope too much. This car is not designed to speed, the max speed I achieved on this trip was 89km/hr, my average speed was probably around 80-83km/hr on the expressway. I am quite happy with this speed.

I don't usually think about time and money when I drive the car. But you are right, other users might be trying to save money by driving the car faster than they normally would, good observation there.
Of course never smooth sailing ,charge by minutes. Each return of car where do you expect a clean up car ready for next user. A empty lot of your choice need not be at your request too.

For new stations you have to wait a while for them to get season parking for their fleet, for 1 new station about 500 cars need to get season parking. Same for new cars as well. Been using it since 2018 Feb and it has been my go to transport. 👍👍

you said you took a risk without booking a parking spot when returning the car in Changi. I understand that Changi is now underused. What if you took the risk and there was no available parking lot?
In that video, as i was there mainly to film this experience and check out how much does the rental cost, i was prepared to turn back home if there was no slot. In reality, if there is no available slot in Changi T2, one would have to find a nearest alternate Bluesg station to return the car (otherwise the rental will keep running). It means inconvenient, time consuming, and will incur higher rental (as we need to travel further). It is safer to reserve a slot. Hope it clarifies.

The recent blue SG bumper hit carpark lady is a serious consideration on whether is it worth to rental if something happens and need pay up to a few hundreds of $10 dollars. I as pax would feel safe no pressure and can sleep through the ride to my destination while having no stress of getting to pay for accident claims. Liability on private hire drivers. ( save tat few dollars to a ten dollar in exchange for stress for mths of involve in accident) i rather also take taxi.. nowadays bad drivers and bad accidents everywhere in new century not like in 1990s accidents are so rare..
As a BlueSG driver, i don't drive fast to save cost. In the video, my average speed assumption is 60km/hr. My intention is to illustrate how much cheaper BlueSG is compared to Grab and Comfort, not by speeding but normal driving.

All very good questions. If you passed by ERP, the ERP charges will automatically be added to your bill. If you reach your destination, there is no available bluesg slots, you will need to drive to the next nearest bluesg station to return the car, which may not be convenient. Best way to avoid this situation is to reserve a slot at your destination before you drive there. There are rare situations where non-bluesg cars occupied designated BlueSG slots, should that happen, give bluesg hotline a call and they may allow you to return the car at normal slot and terminate the rental for you.

@@abynoura7253 I think they don't have a one-hour package currently. It's either 3-hour ($39.99) or 5-hour ($59.99). If you exceed, i think they charge by the minute for the time you exceed, i e. $0.33 per minute exceeded . Most ppl don't take their 3-hr, 5hr package, we normal take the per minute rental package (which is the rental by default), which is $0.33 per minute, good enough to bring us from Bluesg station A to Bluesg station B.
Do you know that if you ever meet with an accident while driving a BlueSG rental car, you may be liable to pay $4400 or $11,000 for excess or 3rd Party damages charges depending on your age or years of driving experience? Please read your terms & conditions carefully. BlueSG have the right to charge them to your credit card already registered with them and your Bank cannot stop such payment because you have already surrender your rights to them. Calling a taxi has peace of mind not having to worry about any Excess charges!

Driving a car is different from booking a taxi. You are also paying for the experience on top of getting to your destination. For some, this is something that they are willing to pay because driving is really fun.

If you passby any ERP, the ERP charge will be included in your Bluesg bill. Therefore you don't need to use cashcard. The only time you may need to use Cashcard is when you enter parking area which doesn't have designated Bluesg charging point. If you only travel from one Bluesg designated carpark to another designated BlueSG carpark (like what i did in the video), then you don't need to use cashcard at all.

Actually we weren't going anywhere. We went there purposely for this challenge and make a video out of it. At the end, we said "what are we thinking?", followed by "short-term visitors are still not allowed in most countries", so we could only watch airplanes on the runway but couldnt fly

Facing similar issues with the IU as well, either the machine cannot detect/ask me to pay parking charges. And it happens quite often!!
