    I learned some Korean back on 1981 when I was stationed in Korea and my Korean wife. Since then we got divorced and now that I am retired I am relearning the language. Your explanation on the meaning and pronunciation so has helped me a lot remembering what I knew. Thank you so much and God bless you.

    Ive been learning korean on duolingo for about 90 days now and it says "요즘 어떻게 지넴니까" for how have you been. Is that the same thing?

    • @90daykorean
      @90daykorean  Місяць тому

      Hi, Yes, 요즘 어떻게 지냅니까? is also used to say "How are you?" Koreans often say 잘 (=well), but 어떻게(=how) can be also used. ^^

    • @90daykorean

      Hello! Yes, it can mean "how are you?" if it's a question such as 안녕? or 안녕하세요? or 안녕하십니까?

    What's the difference between Jal Jinaesseoyo and Jal jinaeyo?

    • @90daykorean
      @90daykorean  6 місяців тому +1

      Good question! Both are asking about someone's well-being. However, "잘 지냈어요?" (Did you get along well?/How have you been?) is in the past tense so it is asking specifically about the time since you last met. "잘 지내요?" (Are you doing well?/How are you?) is in the present tense, so it's about the present moment regardless of when you last saw each other. ^^

      밥 먹었어? (literally meaning 'have you eaten?') is another greeting that can be used around mealtime. It's informal, so you can use this with someone you are close to or younger than you. ^^
