I saw this lineup of 1964 several times and they killed it every time. I remember seeing them the first time in a theater back in the early 2000's. My friends and I showed up a few minutes late and I remember hearing them playing from the hallway as we rushed to our seats in the mezzanine. As we walked up to our row, I could have sworn that I was hearing The Beatles perform on stage. I was totally blown away. I'll never forget it.

Saw this incredible band last night at Lock 3 in Akron. WOW! They were dead on. Note for note performance and great harmonies. I was very impressed! The outfits, the equipment, the stage presence all matched the real thing! GREAT JOB MATES!

Our radio station hosted a 1964 concert benefit for a local landmark theater and it is still talked about today. This was back in 2001 and the guys came on the air with us after the show and we drank until we dropped...what a great night with some really great performers.
May I say a BIG THANKYOU to all the Beatles Tribute Bands (& other artistes), you provide something that wasn't there in the 60s (a) you couldn't hear them) (b) they stopped concerts. I've not heard one bad one yet, tho I've seen a few 'Fat Pauls'! It's always Paul for some reason. Covid has put a halt on things & you all must be struggling money wise. Maybe Macca could provide some Dosh to you all! If Millionaire Prince Harry can con the Taxpayers out of £2+million for house decors & only paid some back, then you hardworking talented people should be helped. Can't wait till Theatres reopen. All the Best.
The Oz televised concert was nearly 40mins & a Scandi tv one about 30mins. By 1975 Paul then gave nigh on 2 hours. My schoolmate Jimmy McCulloch played with Paul & glad to see him at work. His best one.
Got to meet these guys a few years back at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth Tx! The 1st time, they did a meet & greet.. I had emailed "Paul" Gary Grimes asking him about if there was any live video available of the group. He said he wished but no (at that time).. So I told him in my email I had taped them off of a Dallas Cable Access channel when they played at the Eastfield College. He told me he'd sure like to have a copy.. I made him one & mailed it out.. A few weeks later, he sent he a 2 cd recording of the groups' live performance & his 'solo' cd.. When I did meet them at the Bass Hall, I told them, you guys need to make a live video & *John* (Mark Benson) said, I'd have to get with *Paul* on that, LOL.. So when i said this to him, he said they want to.. I said, well, I know you have at least one taped show, I'm the one who mailed you the show i have.. LoL.. He laughed & said, so its you? yep, It's me.. Gary was a super nice person!! The following year I went back to see them again.. This time I had 4 DVD's of that show that I originally gave Gary on Vhs.. I gave them all a copy. (But no meet & greet this time). *John* thanked me.. He said Gary sure remembers me too, as Gary was busy backstage. Thanked me also.. Saw them once more the following year.. Then a couple of years later, I heard Gary was in not doing so good so I emailed him.. Told him I wish him well & Ask him if he remembered me.. I got an email back from someone that was handling his emails stating she ask him & yes he did remember me. (can't remember who "she" was).. I learned Gary had passed away not to long afterwards.. Gary, thank you for being SO kind to me.. R.I.P. † Thi is something I'll never forget.. To ALL of the guys,, you all are great & still rock the place.. The only thing that sux is that I missed about the 1st 10-15 mins of the show & then it was not repeated again.. Several times before of course but not after I taped it.. I have seen this group 3 times since 1997 at Meadowbrook in Gilford NH...Theyare great and very professional!!! I met them back stage the last time we saw them in 2008 or so...They were so easy to talk to and spent over 45 minutes with us even though they had to leave to fly out of Manchester...There are a lot of Beatles bands out there an dI have heard quite a few on You Tube...They are all good and the all make us go back to when music was simple with a simple beat!!!! I do know 1964 The Tribute is one of the best!!!

They were clearly super competent. I haven't seen any Beatles tribute bands live, but have watched videos of Bootleg Beatles (pretty much the cream of the crop), Fab Four, Britains Finest, and many others. This is the first time I've seen video of 1964. They were superb.
I saw the Beatles at LEAST47 times between July of 1961 (They were THE SILVER BEETLES) and October of '65, in Germany and the UK, and theses guys are the dead-on; absolute next best thing!!!!! My dad was stationed in Hamburg and I was going on 14 and in truly the best place bar none!
I was just VERY fortunate to have been 14 just when my Dad got stationed in Germany, just at the time that they were really getting good. That's when they were truly great, just before Mr. Epstein got a hold of them. Ringo was a good drummer, but Pete Best was UNBELIEVABLE!!!

The Beatles were called the Silver Beetles between May and July, 1960. After August, 1960, they were always called the Beatles. IOW, they were not called the Silver Beetles in 1961. Maybe you meant "July of 1960"?
My wife and I were fortunate enough to have seen them 6 or 7 times in the early 2000s. With this lineup, we always left feeling like we had seen a Beatles show, not a cover band. And while the future "George" and "Ringo" played well, the magic just wasn't the same. Thank you to whoever recorded this show. These guys were awesome.

they dont personally look like the beatles, but you can see they did their homework and worked hard at playing and making their mannerisms. From the way "john" is playing with that huge elbow angle with his forearm almost parallel to the strings, from "ringo's" kinda stare with his mouth barely open... Well done. edit: Now im reading "paul" is really right handed but played left handed.. damn impressive. (goerge did well to but he is easier to pull off i bet)
These guys are good, they have the sound, and arrangements down very close to the originals. I agree they don't really look like 'The Beatles', however they started this tribute band back before there were Beatle tribute bands, a few of them, The guy's playing George, and Ringo were from a theatre stage show originally, so they got their experience being the Beatles from that show. The other 2, playing Paul and John, may have come from that show as well. Gary who played Paul, was diagnosed with a Tumour, and eventually passed away, sadly for this tribute band. The guy playing John must be the longest remaining member of '1964 The Tribute'. The guy playing George here, does sort of resemble George (a little bit) you can see this at different angles, his guitar playing is very close to George Harrison, his voice sounds quite a lot like George. the guy playing John Lennon, does play rhythm guitar a lot like John did. His voice sounds close to John's, if you listen to their vocals, and harmonies, it could be 'The Beatles' so very close. Greg George here playing Ringo Starr on drums, plays a lot like Ringo did in the day, he has just nailed it spot on. His voice is a lot like Ringo. This guy looks more like Beatle (Ringo), he pulls the manerism's, facial expressions, are like Ringo, it could be a twin of Ringo, if he had one, when this band were younger, they all did resemble The Beatles, but as they have grown older, this is how they looked then, at the time of this footage. Unfortunately the players taking their place in today's lineup, don't have the same charisma, charm, look, experience, or stage energy, presence, these guys have. A great Beatle Tribute band, perhaps at this time, better than 'The Fab Four' are now, but they (The Fab Four) definately, depending on who is filling in with them as filler's, are possibly the best Beatle Tribute show. Ever, and they cover all era's of Beatle's music, which '1964' didn't, and don't. Happy Easter to all you fans, and all the Tribute shows, you all do a great job.

The lead player is by far the best "George" like guitarist of all time including Gavin and all others. He is phenominal including double octave pings on Nowhere Man, The use of his Gretch trigger switch for Yes It Is, the harmonies of songs even the Bealtes had a hard time with live like This Boy and Yes It Is as Paul admitted. Gary has Pauls bass sty down pat and their 3 part harmonies as so incredibly spot on. Never found out where they called home and their names - especially the lead player - would like to contact him and get some backfround. These are not your run of the mill guitar band musicians. These appear to be well-trained musicians with a background in music. They are so tight it sends chills. and their stage presence is so ":early Beatles'.

I've played in beatler bands for almost 50 years now. Not many can play the lead part for And Your Bird Can Sing - i takes months to nail that and I don;t know many - it took me a long time to lear n it. This guy is one of the smoothest with that solo of anyone i've heard and I met George with his sister Louise years ago and he went over it - and it WAS plenty tough. This lead player is so so on Taxman however. He is impressive. Plays a bit kind of flat fingered where G eorge played like Eric - rolled open hand finger tip
I must say, as a DJ and life long Beatles fanatic for 50 of my 54 years of life(yes, my parents said I went nuts at 4 yrs. old when I heard "Twist and Shout"), these lads have potential! I have studied many Beatles tribute bands, attended many concerts and I must say that "The Fab Four " are still the shiznet! However, with just a few minor tweaks, "1964 The Tribute" can give them a run for their money!
You got in ahead of me, Arthur. I was about to say the same thing. There are a number of excellent Beatles tribute bands around. This is one of them, certainly. But the best in my opinion, are The Fab Four.
Keep in mind, (and perhaps in heart?) that 1964 as The Beatles, (their first name before "Oh No") were the first ones back in 1984, so cut them a little respect, eh?

I saw the 1964 Band twice in Dayton Ohio in the late 80's , I believe. I got a huge adrenaline rush at those outdoor concerts. Good to hear they are still going strong. I'd go see them again should they tour.

Gary the bass player (Paul) died of cancer. Jimmy Po"George" left for another solo "George" gig that flopped, then went to another Beatles Band in Vegas. Greg George "Ringo" retired from the band and played in a more local type Beatles group elsewhere. Only "John remains now from this group. Although 1 or 2 who replaced them were original members as well. I met all these guys after the shows several times. They were real nice fellas.
Greg went to the Liverpool Legendswith Marty Scott and the boys. I feel is the best "Beatkes Style" drummer in the business - for looks,style and accurate timing.

fantastic! Fab Four... they do Beatles songs that I can never get the Beatles on vids... and they look like'm and sound like'm... just wish the director would catch all of the hooks of each song... great post, the best yet
they dont personally look like the beatles, but you can see they did their homework and worked hard at playing and making their mannerisms. From the way "john" is playing with that huge elbow angle with his forearm almost parallel to the strings, from "ringo's" kinda stare with his mouth barely open... Well done.
edit: Now im reading "paul" is really right handed but played left handed.. damn impressive. (goerge did well to but he is easier to pull off i bet)
These guys are good, they have the sound, and arrangements down very close to the originals. I agree they don't really look like 'The Beatles', however they started this tribute band back before there were Beatle tribute bands, a few of them, The guy's playing George, and Ringo were from a theatre stage show originally, so they got their experience being the Beatles from that show. The other 2, playing Paul and John, may have come from that show as well. Gary who played Paul, was diagnosed with a Tumour, and eventually passed away, sadly for this tribute band. The guy playing John must be the longest remaining member of '1964 The Tribute'. The guy playing George here, does sort of resemble George (a little bit) you can see this at different angles, his guitar playing is very close to George Harrison, his voice sounds quite a lot like George. the guy playing John Lennon, does play rhythm guitar a lot like John did. His voice sounds close to John's, if you listen to their vocals, and harmonies, it could be 'The Beatles' so very close. Greg George here playing Ringo Starr on drums, plays a lot like Ringo did in the day, he has just nailed it spot on. His voice is a lot like Ringo. This guy looks more like Beatle (Ringo), he pulls the manerism's, facial expressions, are like Ringo, it could be a twin of Ringo, if he had one, when this band were younger, they all did resemble The Beatles, but as they have grown older, this is how they looked then, at the time of this footage. Unfortunately the players taking their place in today's lineup, don't have the same charisma, charm, look, experience, or stage energy, presence, these guys have.
A great Beatle Tribute band, perhaps at this time, better than 'The Fab Four' are now, but they (The Fab Four) definately, depending on who is filling in with them as filler's, are possibly the best Beatle Tribute show. Ever, and they cover all era's of Beatle's music, which '1964' didn't, and don't. Happy Easter to all you fans, and all the Tribute shows, you all do a great job.

The lead player is by far the best "George" like guitarist of all time including Gavin and all others. He is phenominal including double octave pings on Nowhere Man, The use of his Gretch trigger switch for Yes It Is, the harmonies of songs even the Bealtes had a hard time with live like This Boy and Yes It Is as Paul admitted. Gary has Pauls bass sty down pat and their 3 part harmonies as so incredibly spot on. Never found out where they called home and their names - especially the lead player - would like to contact him and get some backfround. These are not your run of the mill guitar band musicians. These appear to be well-trained musicians with a background in music. They are so tight it sends chills. and their stage presence is so ":early Beatles'.
Yeah, George is amazing. They all are; and I think they originally started in the 80s in Ohio.

I've played in beatler bands for almost 50 years now. Not many can play the lead part for And Your Bird Can Sing - i takes months to nail that and I don;t know many - it took me a long time to lear n it. This guy is one of the smoothest with that solo of anyone i've heard and I met George with his sister Louise years ago and he went over it - and it WAS plenty tough. This lead player is so so on Taxman however. He is impressive. Plays a bit kind of flat fingered where G

I must say, as a DJ and life long Beatles fanatic for 50 of my 54 years of life(yes, my parents said I went nuts at 4 yrs. old when I heard "Twist and Shout"), these lads have potential! I have studied many Beatles tribute bands, attended many concerts and I must say that "The Fab Four " are still the shiznet! However, with just a few minor tweaks, "1964 The Tribute" can give them a run for their money!
You got in ahead of me, Arthur. I was about to say the same thing. There are a number of excellent Beatles tribute bands around. This is one of them, certainly. But the best in my opinion, are The Fab Four.
Keep in mind, (and perhaps in heart?) that 1964 as The Beatles, (their first name before "Oh No") were the first ones back in 1984, so cut them a little respect, eh?

I saw the 1964 Band twice in Dayton Ohio in the late 80's , I believe. I got a huge adrenaline rush at those outdoor concerts. Good to hear they are still going strong. I'd go see them again should they tour.

Gary the bass player (Paul) died of cancer. Jimmy Po"George" left for another solo "George" gig that flopped, then went to another Beatles Band in Vegas. Greg George "Ringo" retired from the band and played in a more local type Beatles group elsewhere. Only "John remains now from this group. Although 1 or 2 who replaced them were original members as well. I met all these guys after the shows several times. They were real nice fellas.

Greg went to the Liverpool Legendswith Marty Scott and the boys. I feel is the best "Beatkes Style" drummer in the business - for looks,style and accurate timing.
